Anybody know if the Shakugan no Shana anime covers the entire manga or not?

I'm the last person to badmouth consoomerism but the fact people choose an anime over manga is nuts to me. Especially when a lot of them live and die by the buzz in their long title. You get over the first 30 chapters of the boy being turned into a girl and pumping kids out of the childhood bro and move on. 3 years later it's announced as an anime and you see all the anime-only weebs gush about it for a year until it drops, then once every week as the anime strays from the source material to lean into tropes like "who'll he pick!?".

Not only are you consuming slop, you're consuming someone else re-drawing the author's vision several times over, rewritten and at 1/10 the consumption rate of a manga. Even if a manga is bad, you can read through it in 2-3 hours if not less. that's 3 anime episodes that in turn only cover 9 chapters cause it has to put in all the fan service arcs which may well just be two panels in the manga.

My theory is that its briefs lol
It would be funny if it's Geekboy's kid rather than Panty's.
Had the same thought. Them running into some NTR demon that forces herself on Brief's pushover ass and Panty being genuinely mad about it is a pretty good subversion/character reversal tbh. Although I think the character design looks too like Panty (well, more like Stocking with short hair but still) so I think it's unlikely.

Yeah the show literally made zero attempt to develop their relationship just like everything else. The fact that the the first season ended with Stocking being a demon and then go "sike" 15 years later makes me think we shouldn't take any of these seriously....but then again Brief is still a cuck even when he wins so....
Panty and Brief have always been a shit and pointless couple, the epilogue ruined an otherwise fun finale (frankly I found most of the episodes to be lukewarm). Though you could argue the whole point is that they aren’t compatible and Panty’s ways will never change, hence Brief supposedly getting cucked. So yeah P&S really isn’t meant to be taken seriously is what I guess the message here is.

Started reading Flame of Recca because I heard a rec that said it was similar to Yu Yu Hakusho. Has anyone hear read it?

Flame of Recca is in the category of shows that I know I saw at least a few VHS fansubbed episodes of at an anime club in the late 1990s but remember virtually nothing about aside from maybe the melody of chorus of the opening theme.

There's a character in the OP who looks suspiciously like Mistress 9 from Sailor Moon S.

It's barely faithful to the original work. Season 1 adapts Volumes 1 to 6 of the light novel, skips Volume 7, and has an original ending for the anime. Season 2 builds off that and then rushes through Volumes 8-14, skipping 10 and 15. Season 3 covers the remaining volumes.

The anime is barely faithful to the original work. The one time it's nearly completely faithful is S3, but because everything before it was messed up, a lot of character decisions don't make that much sense.

Thanks. Yeah, season 3 Yuji's decision seems nonsensical. I thought they'd explain it later but maybe not lol. I'm almost done, may as well finish the anime up. I'm not looking forward to reading a long ass manga just to fill in the gaps but I guess I might anyway.

If I remember correctly he was possessed and came into the realization he needs to tard wrangle everyone to finish the conflict.

It was one of the weirder ends of an anime I can remember, especially with having god basically yell at everyone to calm down and that Yuji's plan won't end the universe.

It also reminded me how fucking cringey the original seasons were. Peak Chuun material.

I like the first couple seasons a lot, actually. It's got like a gender swapped Inuyasha/Bleach kinda dynamic.

The 1st OVA episode "Reshuffle" is probably my favorite episode, it's pretty basic stuff but the execution is good. It nailed the humor and character interactions.

Is the manga even fully scanlated? I know the light novel isn't even a quarter of the way translated, it has such a scant Western fanbase that the only one who was doing it threw their hands up with a stress sigh and abandoned it.

That's unfortunate... I just finished the anime and it felt rushed as hell by the end, and like an entire season was missing between S2 & S3, so the manga would be nice to sift through.

Lame.

Well no wonder she was such a lonely autist bringing shame to her family, she's an ABDL lonely autist who hired a lesbian prostitute and became 5% less awkward from the encounter but is still no less shamefur than before. Gee, sure would've been nice to know this information during her spiel about her life lmao.
