I watched the first episode of Demonbane, and so far it's amusing for the sheer idiocy of it all.

Firstly, it progresses like a dream, cutting so much connective tissue that it fails to produce any character attachment - it doesn't even try for cheap, manipulative investment, no sad orphan/dead sister/missing friend shit or anything like that - and borders on the non sequitur.

Not once, but twice, the protagonist has been silently snuck up on and surrounded by fleets of loud gasoline motorcars.

It also includes a transformation sequence that, rather than attempt titillating censorship, throws in the towel and depicts the characters "unclothed" with Barbie and Ken doll bodies - not that that's what I'm watching it for, but it's bizarre how sexless they made the scene for something in an IP that started out as an eroge, and doubly bizzare for something that's already included trite coomer pantyshots already.

Who is this made for? Idiots like me who see a Twin Peaks reference on top of the usual Lovecraft references and feel some superficial kinship with the writers, I suppose.
I don't know about the anime, but Demonbane VN is absolute kino

Finally getting off my ass and watching the newer version of Bastard!! I find the Schneider's VA was better suited the 90's anime with his more smug tone, but the new VA is still good and does a better job showing Lucein's personality having an affect on him. Them refusing to draw nipples on the women in scenes where there's no coverage is a fucking weird choice though.

Out of curiosity I looked up the Demon Slayer film online to see how long that goddamn flashback was at the ending. It starts 1:50 hours into the film and ends in 2:15, meaning 25 minutes of pure flashback after the main battle was won. The battle itself starts 1:10 into the film. More than half the film is about that goddamn fight, and it's not like the guy they fight against is some massive antagonist that deserves so much screentime, it's a guy that appeared for 5 minutes at the end of the previous film to kill a guy the main character knew for about 20 minutes.

Also some more complaints about the film:
* Boar head guy appears more time in a flashback than actual time in the film.
* Water dude also get Sun Breathing descendant markings, which really shit on the effort characters spend on training when it boils down to Naruto esque bloodline.
* During a flashback (you could probably make a drinking game from how many there are) Tanjiro's dad instantly beheads a giant bear with a small axe, which you'd think someone would bring up when the whole plot revolves about beheading.

New Panty & Stocking two-part finale came out. Pretty eh, but then that was my attitude towards the old show. I'm not really someone who likes sex jokes and swearing as 90% of the humor, so I guess thank god I wasn't watching anime in the era of Kaizoku Fansubs.

I've caught up with Dr. Stone's latest season, the show is still as good as ever
Suika being alone for 7 years after the world got petrified was depressing

I don't think I watched after the first season, but didn't the two friends of the MC since the beginning go their own way? What happened to them?

Saw the finale of Panty and Stocking's second season. I am surprised where it went, and it was pretty good.

Though didn't expect the announcement of a season 3, but in hindsight it makes sense given some of the stuff the production team said at conventions that didn't make it into the second season, and given they have the full rights to the IP now, it pretty much feels more guaranteed to be a shorter wait time between seasons 2 and 3 compared to the 15 year gap between seasons 1 and 2 (Unless Season 3 comes in 2040)

You know, you just reminded me of something( I havent seen the finale yet but god I need to vent) The original dub was way better than the Japanese original. If they had just gone all in on being a Japanese version of a western cartoon, it'd be a lot better, but as it stands...eh? The Japanee version feels like it almost had it but not quite. A good chunk of the sex jokes in the original dub felt like I was watching a version with dialogue that probably wouldn't have made it in the Japanese version for one reason or another.

and to be honest despite my feelings towards them, Jamie and Monica brought the perfect amount of cuntishness to those girls that worked so damn well, and if I didn't know any better I'd have sworn the new voice actor for garterbelt was doing a terrible impression of a black man. I genuinely thought this was a white guy until I looked up who did the new voices.

Also the episode format in the early part of the season made the buff twink zoomers more interesting to me than the main cast despite every word coming out of their mouths grating at my ears. I want to like what they did with the characterization with the new status quo of the angel and demon girls but that three segment per episode thing really fucked all the good ideas in the ass. Why the fuck did they do that?

I'd recommend watching the rest of the show its pretty good. That aside I only have vague recollection because neurological issues making my memory shit but doing my best to recall Taiju and Yuzuriha split up from Senku to help spy on Tsukasa's empire, later on they eventually reunite in the woods after Senku is unpetrified again and they continue going on adventures together
Suika the Human was the best part of the manga, I'm actually disappointed it only got one episode.
Hell I wouldn't of mind a whole season of Suika trying to revive him. Would of been great but looking on reddit most people apparently didnt like it. Then again its reddit they hate everything

Felt like the Panty and Stocking finale was too safe and Reddit-y. Wonder if they'll stick to the post ending scene that didn't make any sense and had Geek Boy get canonically cucked.

It was pretty uneven in quality. The episodes that were more experimental were far better than the ones sticking to the excuse plot.

Geek boy was just awful and usually removed any energy the episodes had. Garterbelt was a non character.

Glad they already announced Shield Hero season 5. This past season was good. Good enough. They padded out Siltvelt for about an episode too long. And the budget was really inconsistently spread. Like, the fight against Jaralis looked like dogshit. But the last chunk of Q'Ten Lo looked really consistently nice. I guess I'd rather it all look "good" than inconsistent with a few episodes of sakuga. But that's not a problem exclusive to this series.

Next season though. Whew. It's adapting the best of the novels. It really shakes up the formula and starts to pivot. There's a couple of moments I really can't wait to see.

Could've sworn Azaka's backstory took up a couple of chapters, so I wasn't surprised that took as long as it did. If the fight length is gonna be an issue, then you're really gonna hate the final fight with Muzan.

Inosuke doesn't do anything in the Infinity Castle arc until the fight with Douma, so he'll be a bigger role in the next film.

You can blame the animators not giving different colors to those markings like they did in the colored chapters of the manga. His is pretty generic looking, so the deeper blue they used in the manga would've helped make his stand out more. I think every hashira gets one by the end of the fight with Muzan too.

It's less about him beheading the bear and more how the bear didn't try to stop him.

Would Nyaruko like it?

The marks have nothing to with blood lines/being a descendant of such and such which got explained a little at the end of the swordsmith village as the mark indicating the complete mastery of a breathing style. Think it was also explained then that a key catalyst for getting a mark is the be in contact alongside someone who has the mark or or has been marked before. Which is one of the reasons behind the Hashira training arc because after both the Mist and Love Hashira got there's during the swordsmith village, it was a hoped that the other Hashira would get one if they trained together as well as maybe a tiny fraction of the normal demon slayer members.

Reading Yashahime. It is a very good sequel.

Now this makes me wonder, why so many women loved Sesshoumaru back in the early 00's? I had my hots for Kikyou but as a man, I never understood the attraction that women had to Sesshoumaru. The male character that I liked the most was Miroku than Naraku

I disagree, the English dub is well casted and one of the few dubs that is actually decent but to me the essence of Panty & Stocking is a Japanese woman screaming "Mother Bitch" and they never brought that kind of energy.
