Any thoughts on JoJo's ? I've read the first two parts and watched 5 parts years ago and was mostly angry and disappointed with the series. Especially since it got hyped and popular and people were pretending it's amazing and smart and whatnot.

It's certainly imaginative, has a distinctive art style and quite outlandish and maybe even flamboyant with the constant fashion posing. But the often paper thin characterization and especially the two battle systems have various issues, not to mention the constant ass pulls as protagonists and enemies either fall for the most obvious nonsense or suddenly know exactly how to solve a problem or defeat an enemy.

I intend to read through the manga "again" to see if anime adaptations are making everything worse through the pacing or if the source material is just not that good. Finished rereading Part 1 today and it was okay. The art is fine, sometimes looks great, but there are issues with proportions and there are scenes where it is hard to distinguish what exactly is going on. Hamon would be fine if there was more time devoted to it, since both Jonathan and Zeppeli tend to pull techniques just out of their ass when it is convenient. Characters are also whatever, Dio is obnoxiously arrogant, which makes him somewhat interesting. The ending was fine.

Part 1 is fine I guess, it at least didn't make me fucking livid like Stardust Crusaders or Golden Wind did when I watched the anime. Probably going to star with Part 2 tomorrow, which I remember liking the most out of all the parts that I've read and/or watched.

The anime is almost 100% true to the manga, so if you didn't like it then I doubt you'll like it now.

I like JoJo, but it's certainly been incessantly meme'd and even overhyped for over a decade now. It's like Breaking Bad in that regard, niggers shill it so often and reference it in every context that it gets tiresome. If the bellcurve plebs are hyping up something it likely isn't the highest form of art. And it undoubtedly gets pretty formulaic and dull by the time you're at the "hundreds of episodes" mark. The visuals also started taking a hit by the end of part 2 into part 3, not just the character designs, but the backgrounds and palette swap moments. I enjoyed part 2 because of the JoJo/JoBro and how honest it was to the "bizarre" title, and part 3 has the Stand fights which really were a game changer... but that doesn't mean they're flawless.

The mangaka himself knew this shit was getting very stale, which is why he literally destroyed the world and started a brand new universe. If any part is going to top parts 2+3 (strictly speaking about the anime here) it will be part 7. After that, I really don't give a fuck.

I never touched the manga, and my previous knowledge were only the old fighting games from the PS1 and PS2 (fun games btw). I watched the first season - my friends hyped it to the moon - and I found it "mid", not a bad anime but certainly not great. I never bothered to watch more, seems like a series people watch just for the memes and hype.

I also find the girls very ugly and same-facey.

Is the Demon Slayer film the finale of the series? Because if once again I'll need to see the Hashira training arc I will kill myself

This one is "Part 1" of the finale, so there's gonna be more at some point.
Not gonna watch it myself but I hear this one ends off with the heroes having made it inside the bad guy's MC Escher house but not having fought or killed him yet.

I enjoyed it up until the stands, they make every fight even more asspull then is average for shonen and the characters and their interactions got even more brohomosexual so I dropped it at some point.

Ahh the jewish foot-fetishist's evil german stereotype bitch. I'd have respect for him if he told Tarantino to give reparations to Leonne for blatantly stealing that scene from him. Imagine "your" scene that everyone quotes was one that you took from someone else's movie.

A little late to reply but are they wrong? SAO becomes more stupid and repulsive the more you think about it
If we are being fair to him, yeah, he isn't wrong. The only new thing that he is talking about are the SAO progressive movies that came out, otherwise it is the same as any "SAO sucks" video that has come out since digibro. The movies also sucked.

I was watching a itsagundam video and saw 50% of Netflix's viewership is anime. It really is going mainstream. Safe to say its on the chopping block to be ruined. I hope the yapaneese don't get too wrapped up with appealing to the west

On a different note Baki is pretty good. Reminds me of Jojo but somehow more muscular and ridiculous at times.

For those like me who enjoy reading manga and suffered the loss that was MangaDex cutting off half its body for "legal" reasons. We now must suffer again as the best MD alternative site comick.io has now shuttered its doors. It went down this morning and as I do scanlation I'm in their Discord server. They announced about an hour ago that they've shut down the site with no clear answer why though it's speculated it's DMCA related. Leaders of a large group of Scanlation teams are now in a private Discord server attempting to piece together their own "comick.io 2" which will no doubt never actually happen but will garner thousands of dollars from suckers before the rug pull.

Does anyone have a suggestion on alternatives especially ones which have an extension available on the mihon reader app?
