The Biggest problem with Griffith right now is that Griffith's character really isn't particularly clear beyond "Gay King Arthur Larp"

Everything he has shown personality wise kind of gets contradicted by other shit he says and does, like even the Casca rape gets called into question because she was the only fucking uterus around and Griffith needed a bitch to have a Ghost Demon Baby so he could come back to earth, and its really impossible to know what is "Griffith" what is "Griffith being a faggot and lying (even to himself)" what is left of the "real" Griffith after a year of Torture and after the eclipse "What is him being a Demon mean personality wise."

It doesn't matter because none of the people who would be working on it would have any personal connection to the conflict unlike those who lived through WW2 or knew those who have.
It will be all performative with zero real insight or personal connections to any of the current conflicts.

For the love of God please leave Gundam out of reach from Tomino, Reconguista was painful enough. I'm very grateful for the creation of the franchise, but he's basically a worse Kojima nowadays.

Also, the title of the article is partially misleading - he is saying the younger authors don't know about war personally, and "the theme is whether humanity can stop this social behavior.” It's just the typical anti-war mindset of his generation.

You know unless someone with more niche knowledge about old school manga can chime in, but I think Shigeru Mizuki is the only well known mangaka who actually fought in WWII (Tezuka was conscripted for factory work, Miyazak and Tomino where 3-4 when it ended and most of the rest who had popular series in the 70s, 80s and 90s weren't even born yet) and I think it shows since Onward Towards Our Noble Deaths is a bit different to the other anti war manga. its hard to describe but it felt more directed at specific parts of the Imperial military of the time then just hand waving "war bad" like a few series.

I've also heard the same thing said about Barefoot Gen since the guy actually lived through the bomb drop, but all I actually know about the series is the scene of said drop from the anime.

Every time anime alludes to the Israeli Palestinian conflict it's a gay "oh those two sides are the same but can't get over their past". It's never how one side works for peace despite having overwhelming power, and the other never stopped being a feral nigger.

Heck, the current conflict stemmed from Israel being suicidally pacifistic and ignoring warning signs until it got attacked. Going against the pacifism that is popular in most anime.

Ditto Ukraine got super fucked when it disarmed itself under promises the USA will help in case of trouble. Again showing the insanity of inaction.

And how much of his perceived personality is just the moonlit boy trapped inside his vessel? Like the tear shed scene, some people say that is Griffith, but I don't think so, I think that's just the moonlit boy inside Femto. We probably shouldn't even be calling him Griffith.

Just watched Princess Tutu and it was shockingly good. Im not into magical girl shows at all, but Tutu caught my eye and ensnared me.
It has a wonderful and unique story which is properly paced, likeable characters including the villains, and an amazing dub and ost.
And God, this story line could have become really dark if the author decided to push the villain to his extreme. Thankfully they kept the story lighthearted.
Its a 5/5 in my books. Check it out you NIGGERS!
