Oh yeah, I forgot all about it, but Bestiale is running this season.

I found some streaming sites that are hosting it but no subs as far as I can tell. French studio, based on their previous releases the worst this series can possibly be is a 7/10

>That art style

This is from the people that made Wakfu, right?

Looks neat, I enjoyed Wakfu. Shame most French enertainment never gets translated.

Step aside cartoon studios, we got a real one!

After the awful FLCL 2 remake/sequel, I do not have any hopes of this being good. Frankly, they should have just left it dead with the crappy ending of the first season and moved on to new projects.

I've been watching the Deltora Quest anime. I'm not a big anime watcher and like the basic stuff like Akira and the 90s Berserk. I first wanted to just read the books but I don't like reading E-books and buying dozens of kid's books seemed unrealistic. I really enjoy how it looks, the colours are bright and the music and voices are top-notch. The only bad thing is the 'filler' episodes (the ones that weren't based on any of the books) are terrible and drag on and on and on. There is a whole season of just filler after the finale and I'm not sure I will be able to enjoy them.

Catching it on the Hub was like a fever dream.

I'm still baffled they did filler when there are two sequel series book wise.
If it did good enough to get another season you would think you would just license the other books.
This is a very old rumor but the two reasons why Emily Rodda said yes to the anime was because her kids at the time liked action cartoons and some anime so she thought they would enjoy it, and they promised to stay faithful to the story (which is also why she's rejected every tv and movie offer so far)
For the most part the original 52 episodes don't change the story much aside from rearranging one or two events, but the rumor is that they made the extra 13 episodes behind her back, and Rodda didn't really appreciate it because not changing the story was the only thing she asked for. So when they tried asking to adapt shadowlands and dragons, she told them no.
Iirc Japan has something where the author can sink any adaptation if they say so by few rarely do because even a mediocre adaptation will advertise there work and if they scuttle something their publisher probably worked hard with to get, they'll probably be in some deep shit and face the usual jap work bullshit of being passive aggressively annoyed until they resign or make some sort of apology for being selfish and inconveniencing everyone.
But Emily Rodda isn't Japanese, Deltora wasn't made by a Japanese publisher but licensed from scholastic, and while it was popular in Japan I think the two biggest markets are still by far Australia and the US so she didn't exactly lose a shit ton of money doing so.

Happy Birthday to the man himself 🎉
