Thunderbolt Fantasy had a film to conclude its plotlines. Overall it's pretty nice, but I still feel like the first season was the best in terms of fights and a straightforward plot.

Kinda hoped the evil princess gets reincarnated as red haired guy's daughter to have her get some kind of happy end.

@Imam Shamil

Not sure if i would call them "obscure" but here are some anime i liked that seems to have been more or less forgotten

Kino journey (2003 version)
Darker Than Black (Season one and the OVA. Season 2 is a mixed bag)
Desert Punk
Welcome to NHK
Baccano
Durarara!! (Season one anyway)
Is this a zombie? (Kore wa Zombie desu ka?)

Saw Slayers last year and thought it was really good.

Bro. I have to watch this based on the name alone. KIINOOOOO!
Its a classic. I think everyone who likes anime should give it a try.

I say 2003 version beacuse it got an "season 2" in 2019 that re-tells some of the older episodes of 2003 version, while also showing new episodes. It was a mixbag but i think thats worth watching if you want more KINO.

this should've gotten an adaptation

It's been a while since I've posted in this thread proper but I've brought a little game for the thread if you're interested. So online some retarded anituber (said the same thing twice, whoops!) ranking every single anime that they watched and it genuinely is one of the worst videos that I've ever seen based on clips online. If you guys ever wanted to get properly Mad At The Internet, I'd urge you to find your favorite anime (or the closest thing I'm sure he doesnt go super deep in despite the vid being 11h long) and write about how badly they managed to butcher it. The guy manages to fuck up basic details and refuses to watch magical girl anime. I really sincerely doubt its ragebait but if it is I fell for it hook line and sinker.

Here's the full video:

Here are some parts clipped just to get a general idea of what you're working with here.

Chobits is Diddy-Epstein Shit frfr no cap

An unironic "Unlike other Mecha Anime this one is about the characters" take in 2025

Explanation for why they didn't watch anime Magical Girl shows

The real release date of LOGH.

I know I'm late to the party, but I fired up my scraper this morning and saw that a lot of the series I was following got hit from MD. I saw a lot of recommendations for ComicK and Weeb Central/Mangasee, but AFAIK those are compressed and my autism demands highest quality. Are there any other aggregators or I stuck with nu-Batoto and the 2025 Dekai Archive?

What are you guys' thoughts on Xitter negroes calling the new "Even The Student Council Has Holes" anime pedoslop despite none of the sexualized characters looking like kids?
Digging this up since I keep seeing the series /a/ for some reason. Funny story - back when Seitokai Yakuindomo ended, I was looking for something to fill the gap and everyone kept recommending this series in the thread. I looked it up and the first thing I saw about this series was that the author draws rape doujins of one of the loli-like characters (can't remember who). I noped the fuck out really quick and Yaotome ×2 was announced shortly after.

Can't mention Korean Zombie Desk Car without posting the standout character from the show.

One thing I do hate about LN adaptions is that there is a higher chance that you won't be able to find out what happens after the anime ends.
Kaze no Stigma is extra bad as it was a LN adaption and the author died before finishing the series.

it's a really depressing feeling to find out you're not just getting old and becoming a cynical asshole
everything is worse these days and the things you enjoy are not what they once were with no sign they'll be improving anytime soon
This is what happens when you age out of relevance. *sigh*

I'd argue that the issue is the opposite, anime got shitty because it never stopped catering to the same oldfags, now well into their midlife crisis. If anime catered to young people we'd have the same cheerful battle couple and slice of life shows, not "I want to die and be reborn as chad".

That has more to do with the zeitgeist of the country and industry. Anime is still made for young people, but young people from the current generation wants different things from the older generation - or maybe not different things, but the same things done in a different way. Generation shock is normal and is as old as civilization.

we need more chainsaw man type shit
the banal things in life that once were so common being an impossibility complimented by supernatural elements and a sense of nihilism is way too real

i swear i've said that about it before

I'm sure we all felt that way when we first learned of anime and the expectations we had for something we haven't seen domestically.

Young people (below 21) want to hear stories about young people. That's why 20 years ago the majority of anime came with a highschool setting. While it's not extinct, it's much rarer. And I don't buy that it is related to the zeitgeist of the country, in those ages they don't care about it and are far more optimistic.

Edit: Pop Step is criminally adorable
