Did this creator get inspiration for male pregnancy from the infamous Ren & Stimpy reboot episode where Stimpy gets "pregnant", or from The Sims because of males getting pregnant from alien abductions a joke? Or are they actually drinking the Kool-aid and trying to tack on the "manpreg" trend with FtMs getting pregnant?

On another note, when did the trend of shitty Death Game mangas became a thing? I noticed a startling amount of them after the King's Game's manga first released. Also, King's Game had multiple novels, a live-action movie, multiple mangas, and an anime adaptation too. How in the fuck did Nobuaki Kanazawa (the creator of the series, and he even named the protagonist after himself) pull this off when the story was so utter dogshit? Are Japanese people fans of shitty ass Death Games and gorefests in general? Do they think that the Final Destination movies are "too tame" in comparison?

I started Yu Gi Oh GX for the first time. I think watching it in Japanese for the first time was much better than the English dub. I used to watch it in English but it feels like a different show. I noticed that the OST is way less loud and chaotic in Japanese compared to English. Not to mention the op is fucking awesome. I just love the Punk rock from the OP! I love the English Game on! OP too but this punk rock reminds me of Reel Big Fish which I like.

GX is kind of like a gag dub which is fine for the first 2 seasons of GX, but hurts it greatly during the much more serious third season plus 4kids censorship. There is also the issue that season 4 was never dubbed so even if someone liked the dub they could never actually finish the show, but at the same time GX is the last series that people have any fondness towards the dub outside of minor shit like the English opening for 5D's being catchy.
 
I still haven't touched GX because I honestly don't know if I should watch the dub or not. I get dub clips on occasion and they're absolutely hysterical.

The character designs are a little old school I suppose, but it immidiately made me think of Ghibli, and the backgrounds of Howl's Moving Castle. Its pacing is thoughtful and every scene is given plenty of time to breathe so you can appreciate the visuals. If you can acknowledge the merits of an old masterpiece theater show for its authenticity, you'll probably enjoy this. It's a well made and heartwarming period piece, and a touch more learned and culturally sound than say, Isekai power fantasy #298 or Jew-sponsored nog wank #953.​

I loved the original so much I went and saw another one they made in 2009 called Anne before the green gables pretty much right after, based on another book in the series, with the same artstyle and everything.
It's not as interesting as anne of green gables but worst of all it made an absolutely atrocious choice that I can't believe it made it through production. And that is the announcement of before and after a commercial would air. Look at this shit, why would they ruin the mood like this? How can anyone take the sad moments seriously with this. It's a real shame too because I did feel like they changed the artstyle to much with the 2025 remake.


 
I need a suggestion for a sci-fi anime or manga to watch. I've been watching Planetes and it's sparked an interest in discovering other series in the genre.

The eyecatch is as important to anime as the OPs are, and if they wanted to do a cute eyecatch, that was their choice. If they couldn't be arsed to put in a proper timed commercial break, that's on them.

Besides, it's super common for there to be a dissonance in emotional moments because you may still be bawling your eyes out over something that happens in the anime in the second half/causes a cliffhanger and because it's the end of the episode, you get the ED--and it's an upbeat pop song. And you still can't stop crying. *coughCLANNADcough*

Even as a Gag Dub there are still some cool moments.

Like when the Copy Cat guy stole Yugi's deck.

It says a lot about YuGiOh GX that this video meant to highlight the insanity of it actually ends up almost downplaying it. Imagine you send your kid to school for playing a fucking card game and they start sending you letters about wild monkeys, tarzan motherfuckers, vampires and space-light cultists running around the island trying to duel people to death.
