Deathnote warned you in 2017, the Jew monopolist's goal in buying up nip properties is putting niggers in them.

I have no doubt about that, but in addendum to my previous post, the new series is so rushed/poorly paced. They're trying to shove multiple books and events into a runtime less than half of the 1979 series and it shows... Akage no Anne took 13 episodes to get to Anne breaking her chalkboard over Gilbert's head (great moment), meanwhile AS does it by episode 3. The characters are so bubbly and reactionary it completely takes you out of the fact that the show takes place in the 1870s. The old series characters, especially the adults, are measured and look and act stern, i.e. reserved and period appropriate. The new show simply doesn't have the time to represent 1800s people are they actually were.

The way Marilla acts when contemplating keeping Anne is a great example of this. Akage no Anne's Marilla is subtle in her reactions, you can see the gears working in her mind without the need for in-your-face storytelling.

Meanwhile Anne Shirley's Marilla literally gets in another woman's face like she's going to fight her - something a proper 1800s woman would Never Do, especially to a complete stranger.

The new series doesn't have to runtime to be subtle, and that's a big problem for the pacing and authenticity.
Just curious, how many books did the original anime cover since growing up I just assumed the anime only covered the first book since most other adaptations at least reference Avonlea or Windy Poplars if they cover some of those books.
I did grow up with a one of the tv series when I was little since one of my cousins really liked it (think it was the 1985 one) so I showed get around to watching the original anime eventually

More importantly, it’s also the GOAT’s birthday!

I know him best as Giroro, but others might remember him from Hellsing and Resident Evil. He’s also Gerard Butler’s official Japanese voice, which gave us an amazing reference where Giroro says, in English, “THIS! IS! SPARTA!!!!”
Another fantastic VA, I absolutely love his roles in TYPE-MOON stuff and I think Kirei is definitely his best role since Joji gives him this very charming charisma that makes you pay full attention to him with how good his voice acting is, and he definitely really loves the role with the amount of times he cosplayed as Kirei

fuck
he even looks kind of like him

I'm reading Witch Hat Atelier, and it's incredible how it had a nice start before becoming shit. The mangaka being a PC warrior who admits that political correctness is what drives him to draw was a warning I shouldn't have ignored. It's a repeat of Yukimura and Vinland Saga at this point.
I remember losing interest in that when the gay wizards showed up. The entire society was pretty half baked when you get there.

I am also very, very tired of the same manner of girl boss Captain of the Guard/ General. You can do it right, it’s just a very tired cliche. I like it when they are more one of many captains rather than the best.

It's definitely better than whatever Netflix produced. Give it a shot.

Just finished the first two episodes, and it is wholesome AF. And the animation is so pretty!

I will totally be watching the rest.

I may also need to do another rewatch of the Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea TV miniseries from the 80s ... Those will always be my favorite adaptations of the Avonlea series.

Kirei would be nothing without his voice, which Joji provides in style. He actually came up with me and a friend recently because of his birthday. He actually has quite a interesting dubbing career of high profile western media. The man has pipes and has been around.

Jokes aside I'm surprised how decent Ragna Crimson is. I was certain it was gonna be mid tier generic "I wanna become a strong hero" trope slop. Glad I stuck with it
Talking of new Netflix adaptions:
(Another reason why Kaiji is king) (Please don't adapt Kaiji, Netflix)
Why do the nips keep allowing this shit? Are they giving in to the corporate greed?

It's a time travel story at its core as we already know he managed to get to the Dragon God, but failed at the very end.The crux of the story is seeing how it plays out this time, glimpses of the alternate future, and the mystery of the world.
What helps the story is that Ragna and Crimson are fun and interesting characters. Ragna either being total dragon death or an autisic person with zero social skills while Crimson is always scheming and trying to be in control all the time with the only reason they work together is they are using each other to enact the same goal.

The Disney Channel gave that love down here.

There's a fucking Kakegurui Netflix adaptation right now.

That trailer gave me psychic damage. Think it will be worse than the Cowboy Bebop "adaptation"?

It's set in an Americanized setting and separate universe, much like the Netflix adaptation of Death Note. IMO, that does take the edge off of it especially with it having a different title and even totally different names of the characters, so much more easier to tune it out y'know? Like at this point the only Kakegurui elements left is literally just the school uniforms, setting, crazy expressions, and gambling parts.

I'm going to assume it probably won't get as much of a shitstorm as the Cowboy Bebop adaptation since that one did try to 'replace the original show'. I think that show buckbroke the Netflix anime adaptation department so their new rule is that every live-action adaptation now has to be fully Americanized.

I believe the 79' anime covers only the first book, and it's pretty much a perfect adaptation. There was also a 2009 adaptation of Before Green Gables which covers Anne's tragic past. However, you're not dealing with proto-Ghibli for that one. As it turns out, the 79' series had Hayao Miyazaki working on it... so the Ghibli vibes I felt were actually spot on. The show was simply too beautiful to be just some random production, it had talent behind it.

Its great. Even the humor is on point. Starlia seeing Ragna as a sword with arms had me dying

The scene where he tosses the slime was also pretty funny

How many times has that slime been traumatized for Crimson to have to build that feature into him
