They don't even show any animation.... it's going to be complete shit isn't it? I fucking hate JC Staff so much.
A trailer of an anime with animation is like a trailer for a video game without gameplay and has pretty much the same connotations.
since people already talked about yuri there's always assault lily bouquet (banger OP, one of the few animus with kaos' seiyuu) and ofc lycoreco
no idea about mango.

I'll forever be salty about ALB for being the shit that Shaft was reduced to.

It's as unhinged as Baki and made by a Black Weeb, it's surprisingly enjoyable from when I read it awhile back.
I’m not bullshitting, I am enraptured by the writing and characters of Dog Nigga.
The way it portrayed the school shooting at Obama High is peak, it actually hit home especially when we got to the response and the grief after all the death. And the cop’s backstory of being the only one to attend the funeral of that eighteen year old with the knife was honestly an amazing and heartbreaking sequence, same with Rex’s backstory chapter about his school days.

I’m loving this manga and I did not expect peak fiction but that’s what it’s shaping up to be.
Next Chainsaw Man, calling it now it will be an international phenomenon lmao.
I'm think I'm starting to agree with Miyazaki... it really was a mistake, and "westerners" aren't helping.

Episode 23 of CCS has an example of the subs I was complaining about:

I may be biased because am currently in the middle of an Ender Magnolias playthrough and I absolutely love the soundtrack, but I'm surprised Mili isn't on that list. I think outside of Goblin Slayer and I think one of the newer Ghost in the Shell's she's not really a big anime mainstay.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=JdcHwbZ-l7QI guess the whole breathy soft spoken japanese woman gimmick isn't as sellable as creepy nuts.
Oh mili is probably one of a dozen or so popular singers/bands that can sell a series right now, its just that those 5 are probably the biggest anime related singers at the moment (iirc most rank pretty high on Oricon's combined singles charts, hovering around 4-7 million monthly listens and at least one song that broke over 500 million when combined with there official Spotify and youtube music videos)
There are a couple more that while popular don't have as much crossover with anime, Ado is pretty popular right now but iirc she's only done one of the SxF OPs and the insert songs for the One Piece film red movie. Asian Kung-Fu Generation has stepped back from anime songs despite having 2-3 full albums out and I think the only recent thing with them is one of there songs being covered in Bocchi the Rock (there's actually a lot of references to the band in both the manga and anime looking back). And one J-rock band I like called the Ulfuls has only ever done a OP for the old Bobobo anime, and while baka survivor is a fun song, I don't think its one of their best.

Been in a retro mecha mood as of late, recently finished Space Runaway Ideon and was wondering if i should watch Aura Battler Dunbine or Armored Trooper Votoms next. I've heard Votoms is really fucking good, but Dunbine's setting seems really interesting with it's mixture of fantasy and sci-fi

Latest episode of Apothecary Diaries was weird. I won't say it tries to make a pedophile look good, but it does show the guy might have been normal if he didn't become an Emperor with all the stress and danger it entailed.

Does it always happen when Tomoyo speaks? I can understand her having that font.
No, this is the pirate site I'm using having its archive cobbled together from different subs.

I've watched Votoms, but not Dunbine. So do Dunbine.

I feel like this is only getting an anime because of western weebs.
Black Torch only lasted 19 chapters in jump SQ from 2016– 2018 and got canceled, its not as bad as a U19 axe in WSJ because monthly series are about twice as long (did some digging and the fastest a series can get axed in SQ seems to be in 6-7 chapters), but it still got axed
It was announced at a anime convention in the pacific north west, not Japan.
The English twitter active but the Japanese twitter is locked

edit: its live now but wasn't for a few hours

And viz for some god damn reason still has this in stock when most of the other axed bait short series they published are either digital only or out of print.

I knew a friend who read it and from what I remember they liked it but thought it could of been a little better if it was longer but that was almost a decade ago now.

Ooh, dude, okay, so if this surprisingly does well, what are the chances that they may actually adapt canceled manga and allow the mangaka to give them proper endings? There's quite a bit of SJ canceled titles that had potential but Japanese readers didn't care for them. Imagine that Samurai 8 manga that got unfairly canceled because of butthurt Nartutards (unless this was a rumor?) getting rescued through animation.

On JC Shaft specifically... I'mma gonna defend them. Yeah I said it. Yes yes, on a bad day their animation can consist of panel shot- reverse panel shot on repeat for 22 minutes. But at their peak, at their best, when they are going on all cylinders, they put out shit like Railgun and Danmachi season V, where it hits hard, looks slick, and tickles my autism just right. Are they the right choice for OPM. Fuck no. But they are not the worst studio i've ever watched.

Edit: Happy 1500 pages

Actually not that far fetched.
Shaman King was cancelled but the author got the rights back from jump and wrote a new ending plus a handful of sequels.
Trigun was technically cancelled but that's was because the publisher went under and had to to find a completely new one for maximum.
The golden kamuy guy's new series is a remake of his first series, iirc when GK got popular a lot of new people looked into it and liked it enough that shueisha let him try again after he finished GK.
And not manga but I remember an ancient rumor that Cartoon Network is the reason why Big O got a second season since they wanted to cancel it after the first season because of the lackluster dvd and toy sales.

Meanwhile it's been like 15 years and it had a second (netfliix) adaptation and I'm still waiting for Bastard!!-guy to come back from getting cigs.

I think they made it clear that he had problems of some sort before he unexpectedly became the heir/emperor, which is why his mom effectively took the reins. After that, paranoia (probably justified) about potential assassins and the pressures of court life made him spiral further, but he wasn't normal to begin with.
