Oshi No Ko chapter decided it wanted misery porn to be the ending I guess. Really fighting hard to get that shittiest ending award for a manga this year.

So despite having a literal deity floating above Aqua, laying in the water with a stab wound. He fucking drowns and his body is found 20Km out at sea by fishermen.

We have Akane, everyone's favorite girl despite being a literal psychopath who wanted to be an accomplice to murder crying about it on the beach. We've yet to really get Kana or Ruby's reactions.

What doesn't add up though is Menago said the ending was shocking. Nothing shocking has happened yet. I mean they showed that Aqua died with regrets of not returning Kana's affections, not mending his relationship with Akane, not seeing his Sister become the best idol ever, not calling Miyako "mom" etc, and then just killed him without tying up any of these desires, and while that's shitty writing, its not really shocking.

I'm expecting a Ruby suicide or some sort of Dues ex Machina.

Just look at penguinz0 or SomeOrdinaryGamers, the biggest content creators on the platform with the most boing milk toast takes and they somehow are the "voices" of the masses.

I explained the plot to my best friend a few weeks back and he had the same complain about context.

The issue is, even with context it sounds just as bat shit insane.

When Aqua was still a doctor and Serina was still alive, they saved a crow caught in a trap. The crow was literally the god Tsukiomi. I don't know why Tsukiomi could not escape a trap, but there you go.

After Aqua stabbed himself and threw his dad off of a cliff and jumped in after him, Aqua briefly reflects on how he wished there was more stuff for him to do as Tsukiomi monologues about everything he was in life, then watches him fucking drown and does nothing about it.

This raises a few good questions like: What the fuck is Tsukiomi's role in this story if it isn't to use her divine powers to save anyone? She literally just shows up like every twenty chapters to monologue about shit and pretend to be Aqua/Ruby in a movie and otherwise do nothing.

Why the fuck was the logical solution to dealing with Aqua's dad that Aqua, a presumably intelligent person came to, to be fucking stabbing himself and drowning in the ocean in winter?

What was the point in Aqua talking about all these hopes and desires he had and unrealized dreams/loves if in two chapters he was literally just going to kill himself and not dwell on it. Plus there was a large portion of this chapter that was seemingly Aqua realizing he didn't want to die and failing to swim to the surface.

All the bullshit tends to point in my mind, that Aqua ain't dead and we're getting some retarded Deus Ex Machina bullshit. Aqua didn't want to die after all and so Tsukiomi saved him, and the person they fished out of the water wasn't Aqua but his fucking nearly identical father. The fishermen make no mention of a stab wound, so its probably the dad's body.

From the sounds of it I bet that the deus ex machina makes the entire plot not happen. Either the mum never gets pregger, or they stop the stabbing beforehand. Maybe a middle resolution like only Ruby getting the incarnation to get rid of cancer but Aqua never being born.

I'm going to go with "melodrama for melodrama's sake". If Aqua turns out to be alive because reasons it would be the ultimate copout. This isn't fucking pell surviving a mininuke, this is the main character announced as dead 2 chapters
in a row when there are 2 more left, you can't walk that shit back without people screaming bloody murder.

At best he will reincarnate again (hopefully a cuck bird this time). The plot demands that Ruby won't emotionally collapse (even though it would have been the most likely event and one of the multiple reasons why his plam is retarded), she'll be a giga idol for Aqua and Ai, get preggers and dump out a rereincarnated Aqua is my bet.

Anyway, I'm just here for the ride and hoping for another "WTF" fallout since those are great. Lets see what we get after wagecuck Deku and Sukuna giving the middle finger.

Best you can hope for is a final volume extra chapter that does a bit of closure. In the case of Nagatoro it gave a much more satisfying ending. But then Nagatoro was a good series, My hero has been shitting itself for a long time, so I'm not expecting much of anything.

Speakimg of Eureka 7, I watched the anime which sucked dick as a giant robot anime but was surprisingly solid as a love/family story. Remember a manga sequel of sorts came out with what seemed to be Eureka and Rentons kid, what the hell was that about?

And while asking about randon sequels, anybody have any impressions of the Shaman King and Seven Deadly Sins ones?

Kenny is the best, but only because he has the reach to prompt shows like Minky Momo and Chargeman Ken (and the rest of Knack's library, including Astroganger, Groizer X, and Govarian) to get good subs and releases. There is no good Anitube content, but the zimmerit.moe blog has good anime meta-discussion. Also just follow Japanese Twitter accounts; they talk about and make fanart for pretty obscure stuff like Govarian and have some great scans of obscure stuff like the 2D-drawn Webdiver Televi-kun art.

I will now shamelessly quote myself from about 1 year ago because nothing has changed.

In terms of anitubers, the bar is in hell. 99% of the community doesn't have a single creative bone in their body and will staunchly refuse to watch anything before a certain time point. It's FOTM going all the way down for them and it is an active waste of your time to watch anitubers under most circumstances. Just watch the damn thing yourself and come to form your own opinion.

With that being said, the only channels I could ever recommend are PicoTheSpicyWarlord and CheeseGX (this joke worked better last year) since they both stick away from anime from 2010 and onwards and are pretty varied in the content that they do. You could tell they really give a shit about the stuff they make and dont make stuff like "THIS ANIME IS PROBLEMATIC?!??!?" which is consisting of 10 minutes of the most forgettable shit you've probably heard regurgitated from another anituber who's the exact same.

Caribou-kun is also very good with solid edits but doesn't really ever upload anymore and I haven't really gotten around to seeing his newer stuff as of recent.

If I were to add anything else, I'd probably add MistaireFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection series. Probably the most comprehensive analysis on Dragon Ball. The only draw back is that the guy is a theaterfag and therefore likes to crossdress. Thankfully you never see him outside of side videos.

He seems to have plenty of interesting videos on actual obscure stuff like Gundam card games and mobile suit development history. This guy (https://www.youtube.com/@GaiaGaiyus/videos) made an interesting video linking Gaia Gear to G-Saviour a while back, but most of his videos are nothing you couldn't get from just reading Gaia Gear or Gundam Sentinel.

I did find Witch hat atelier thanks to Gigguk. I also think he's full of shit since he sold it to me as a very system heavy manga but being up to date, magic is whatever the hell the author needs at a given moment and there is nothing clearly defined when it comes to any of the more elaborate spells about how they are supposed to work. It's also reached the point of "the 10 year old girl is wiser than all of us!" so even though I think it started strong and the art is honestly fantastic, don't think I'll get back into it.

I still like Witch Hat, I find it charming. It's a unique magic system as described, but you are correct to an extent. The author does not show the exact glyphs making up every spell. It feels like a magic system made by an autist then run through an editor who knows how to make it marketable to people without autism, which means not showing a lot of stuff to make the story flow better. It's probably better this way, as a story constantly going over every painstaking detail of every spell would get bogged down quickly. To be fair, we did get a bit of this in the festival where some of the characters inventions were explained. However, I would have liked if some of the more complex inventions were shown. There is another way of looking at this though. Maybe the author is hiding things from us purposefully so that we remain at the same level of understanding as Coco. I don't know how I feel about that, I kinda want to be able to figure things out.

Plus we're told explicitly in this story everything is a lie.
Plus the autopsy report of Aqua's "Death" said he only had minor damage despite having been stabbed.

My money is on Dark Knight Rises ending that leaves everyone annoyed.
