Pirate sites were and are still necessary if you're into kids anime like Precure, Jewelpet, Pretty Rhythm etc. It wasn't even until Healin Good Precure that Crunchyroll started subbing Precure. In general none of those shows got official subs or were legally released anywhere, you needed to watch fansubs and torrent or stream on other sites.
Yeah, Shinkalion and Grendizer have to be watched via fansubs. At least Shinkalion has official raws on Youtube, but they disappear after two weeks. Piracy is also VERY necessary if you're into toku, especially current toku, but fortunately it's niche enough that nobody cares except Toei's legal team.

Curious about David Wald because if someone went thru his mail at Crunchyroll/Funi why do that? Hmm......

Reminder Crunchyroll itself used to be a pirating site, branded itself for awhile as the ethical way to watch anime and "help" the anime industry.

Then abandoned that branding after the backlash for their original programming

Just want to say Danmachi is going fucking HARD this season. Completely out of left field how they're taking the story. Syr has gone bad bitch Freya mode and I am HERE for it. Even J.C. Staff is pulling overtime in the animation department. It is actually fucking fire. Even compared to former seasons. Watch it faggots.
OK, I know fuck all about Danmachi, but you piked my interest. First question, I assume left and right are the same character, is that a season 1 to current season animation style update thing? And give me a spoiler free pitch. Also, is there a manga? I tend to prefer manga over anime but I'm also aware of cases like Bocchi, Kimetsu no Yaiba and Kare Kano that improve tenfold when watches as anime. Is this one of those cases? Or can I just go into the manga and fuck it?
Playing a remix of the William Tell Overture and the Can-Can during a zombie chase scene with a giant fucking crab?
Oh yeah, I think Dandadan is a certified hood classic already.
There is still much peak to look forward to. Next episode we meet best girl.

Same charecter, though we didn't quite know until now. And yes the animation got a upgrade compared to S1.

It has a manga, and a LN i believe. As for a pitch, its a actual fantasy setting where there is a dungeon, and adventures follow historical gods in a mishmash in groups called familas. The story progresses from there. As for the medium i reccomend. I mean the anime has been going for years. You have seasons and seasons worth of content, including a movie and a side story season. But if you want to read it you can. I feel you'll lose out on some of the funny though. It goes from a show that is very campy to one that breaks your fucking heart and gets gud. Also the OVA's are hilarious. WATCH THOSE.

Gigacuck has humiliated himself yet again:

God, imagine being an anime fan for two decades and not knowing what Grendizer, Candy Candy, Ideon, Space Cobra, Cyber Formula, and DNA^2 are, and barely knowing what 0079, Zeta, and Nadia are. The Ideon one is especially embarrassing considering how much he likes Evangelion.

Is it just me, or does this SCREAM Demonbane to anyone else? There's an evil creature with control over multiple dimensions and a robot that can reach into multiple dimensions. It's a shame this seems to be a typical isekai because it would be awesome if the story went such that the Lelouch expy was reincarnated by the evil guy (who coud be our Nyarlathotep expy) to unleash chaos and evil across all dimensions everywhere by having him engage in fights to make the robot stronger and stronger (sort of like Dancouga Nova), but instead he defeats the evil reincarnator guy across all dimensions everywhere in an epic showdown with the help of all his former enemies who also have ridiculously-powerful robots. We really need another powerscaling mecha anime.

Happy 67th birthday to Rumiko Takahashi sensei

I'm glad "Blurry Eyes" from D.N.A.^2 made that list even if the opening theme was probably the most memorable thing about the show. I'm a little puzzled by the list, though. Is it the most popular opening themes for each year with western fans because a few of those 20th century themes are fairly deep cuts (i.e. the Space Cobra theme for 1982 instead of the Macross theme)? Or is it the most popular songs with Japanese fans because, as much of a pedestal as Cowboy Bebop is on in the west, I don't see "Tank" being nearly as popular in Japan in 1998 compared to "Catch You, Catch Me" from Cardcaptor Sakura?

Honestly, the first time I saw that thumbnail, I immediately thought we were getting a second season of The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated (only to be disappointed that we're not) because that character is a dead ringer for Saurva.

EDIT/CORRECTION: That list had the Space Adventure Cobra theme for 1982, not Cat's Eye which was the pick for 1983.

Who knows, these popularity polls produce surprising results.

Editerino: post Japanese songs that feel like anthems, live performances preferred

Started watching it, first 3 episodes in, though in the second I was already screaming in my head "GIVE HIM THE FUCKING KNIFE YOU STUPID SOW", so not the best first impression, but it's only 12 episodes for season 1 so I'll give it till then. The whole "gods as mortals but not really" system seem pretty weird, I hope it gets more established as I go on.

As for your screen cap, I'm avoiding looking at it just in case, but please don't tell me that the grand season 5 twist is that the nice bartender girl is Freya, since that's obvious as fuck 3 episodes in.

Give it a minute is all ill say. It gets better.

Major Merrie Melodies energy.

More shows should embrace the wealth of culture available in the public domain like they used to.

Just saw episode 6, honestly, want to drop it. The whole "be sad for rat girl UwU" with retardedly innocent MC rubs me the wrong way. That there is no fucking reaction to his knife getting stolen a second time, given to him by his goddess that indebted herself to insane levels to provide it for him. Jesus Christ what a pathetic little faggot that spits on the face of those that support him.

Might give it another go later, but for now I'm more than done.

Also, is it another harem series? If it's done for laughs I can live with it but I have 0 interest in an eternal "will they won't they".

To be fair he doesn't know right now about the cost of the knife. That's for season 2. And that becomes a major plot point.

It simply is danmachi. More on the laugh's side. Bell is just clueless.

I imagine there is some special jank in the knife after Hestia collapsed when he first used it that Bell is not aware of. But he does know it's an Hephestus weapon and knows those tend to be expensive as fuck, enough to force his goddess into a second job.

Bell's reaction to it all is what pisses me off. Ok, so you forgive the fucking urchin, next thing I would expect is going directly to where to faggots that stole the knife from the rat are and carve a bloody path, not act like nothing happened for a day and doing dungeon work next day as per usual. I'm already dreading the MC being this pseudo messiah character that solves everything through the power of good will and friendship.

Anyway, I'll give it another go later, but if the next episode isn't focused on getting the knife back, I'll be pissed.

I can live with a clueless harem as long is it doesn't advance things and resets them constantly.
