So after episode 3 of Re;zero yesterday, I think it's shaping up to be pretty solid. I'm glad they chose 90 minutes for the first episode, because now it's clear all the set up makes sense: we're stuck in the city this season. With a lot of enemies to fight. It's looking like it's going to be a battle royale. I'm excited.

but Shield Hero is maybe the best in the genre, plus Re:Zero and Mushoki Tensei are very good.
The only one of these I've watched is Mushko Tensei and aside from the school arc that was the first 2/3rds of Season 2, I actually really think its pretty great.

Although I have a hard time talking about it because like everyone loves to hate that show. On one hand, everyone's saying Rudy is a pedophile and anyone who watches the show is Loli trash, even though the entire purpose of the show is Rudy realizing he's a pedophile and Loli trash and literally trying to be the exact opposite of that.

And on the other hand, you have absolute scum human beings who think Paul was a bad person.

All my niggas fucks wit Paul.

Paul, knocks some girl up when he's 19, and marries her, has a kid with her, and then when he's older bangs his maid and knocks her up too. And everyone's like "Paul's total scum" over this, and I'm sitting here like "The dude is 23. He's not even a real adult yet. Can we not crucify him?"

And then when he loses his entire family due to a natural disaster and becomes an alcoholic people shit on him for that too, for not instantly recognizing that his estranged, weird son was embellishing his journey while both of Paul's wives and one of his daughters was just lost and no where to be found, presumably sold into slavery or worse.

I fucking cannot stand how much people shit on Paul when he's a really well written and complex character.

Paul fell for David's dilemma. If you have your shit already, you don't fuck around wanting for more otherwise the evil eye will be upon you and then tragedy comes.

I just got told somebody liked Frieren because the characters "interact just like real people".
Fucking stab out my mind's eye so I never remember this.
I like Frieren because of how autistic all the characters are.
Oh good, it deserves a better adaptation than that trash anime. Fan service doesn't belong in everything apparently. It's funny because the anime introduced me to the manga, but good God it was obvious how bad the anime is after reading it. The entire anime feels like they had no faith in the source material, from the fan service that ruined tense scenes, to the reveal at the end that spoiled the appearance of something later in the manga. I guess it makes sense that a Japenis studio would look at something with very little fan service for its high school age protagonists and decent buildup and go, "hey, we can improve this."

Doesn't the novel end with Rudeus getting a harem? It's not about personal redemption; it's about redeeming the setting to give the pedophile everything he wants. It is utter trash that is only relatable or interesting to pedophiles. You should feel ashamed for liking it, and you should probably be put on a watchlist.

Are you saying people under 25 are too immature to understand the consequences of sex, ergo the age of consent should be raised to 25? I love how pedophile scum constantly fall back on themselves being underdeveloped/immature while their victims are perfectly mature enough.

You unironically think that an alcoholic sex pest loser whose son won't talk to him is a "well-written and complex character". In the real world, the only attention we'd give someone like that is mockery. This is why Mushoku Tensei is a terrible show and its fans are terrible people: the protagonists are losers and degenerates that you'd root against in any other show, but in Mushoku Tensei they're treated like unimpeachably amazing heroes -- it doesn't even attempt to do any "grey morality" thing like in The Sopranos or Joker -- and the only people who would enjoy that are losers and degenerates.

I just started watching DanDaDan, and I am super impressed. Whoever wrote this is absolutely a fellow conspiracy enthusiast.
The aliens were from fucking Serpo. I did not expect a deep cut like that, that’s some proper UFO conspiracy lore.
The animation is lit, I’m liking our characters, and I just love the UFO lore this show is spitting.

To be fair, pretty sure he didn't just fuck the maid, he raped her when they were younger. They went their own ways, she got injured and out of a job and then became his maid and then they started an affair.

Maybe in the Manga or LN, strictly an anime watcher here, and in the Anime, he's drunk and she seduces him.

It's the bitthday of this VA. The voice of Cell is the same voice as Chiyo's dad and Lelouch's dad.

Both rape and seduction are true. The former was part of light novel side story.
To me, it's more or less how story handwaves the problem by as long as the guy takes responsibility and has feelings/actually put effort in loving the girl. Then everything is alright, same for Rudeus. Depending on people tolerant on the issue, I guess.
Then again that's anime and it isn't even that far off to typical trashy josei or that typical erotica 50 shades of grey.

I wouldn't get into much with Space Police/Sailor Troon, considering him(?, might be a homosexual irl) is very open against on any female fanservice or anything slightly related to it. Doesn't matter if it's actually really bad or not, like previous Pokemon few pages ago and recent Wingman in Tokukatsu thread. I can say he's being "cheeky hypocrite" saying anyone likes Mushoku is a pedo and gooners meanwhile Gundam Seed is also featuring minors having sex on screen and other fanservice ecchi things as well. Well aschuaklly, people can love something and also disliking certain parts of it. If that was the case, then I can point out at least on r/anime or even youtube comments, there are people like (fighting) animation and story a lot for Mushoku but at the same time, they also dislike perverse portion.
Not to mention, SpacePolice dislikes Lulu openly in Bravern, but conveniently not saying much about homoerotic situation in that anime.
Because it's totally play for fun, not gooning (tentacles) or anything. There is a female mecha, Cunus/Knuth, speaks in innuendo (Atsuko Tanaka). Cunus is missing one more letter "n" to mean female genitalita in Latin.

SpacePolice, don't take this too personal. All I see you're trying way too hard after Chris Tyson degeneracy exploded on internet and you're conveniently handwaves faggots are also as much degenerates as straggots larping as queer. I appreciate your preference on mecha show, but that's it. Isami is an insufferable protagonist til the end, Smith actually deserves someone better. At least Ryota Suzuki voiced a better gay protag in the same season, Cherry Magic's Kurosawa.
I humor you on pedophillia, voice actress Rina Hidaka, her loli roles are notable ones. She's used to be a junior idol, I mean it, the old days where Japan had magazines of teenage girls in swimsuit. And you can easily google Rina Hidaka junior idol, some scumbag actually has the thing kept online for download, the third one.

Partially about S5, the most recent season, but also Danmachi as a whole.

I've watched this show for years now. And now, officially, I have finished it. Every ova, side series, I've watched all of it. I counted the episodes, 90 if my count is right, including the movie and the recent season. It has come a long way since S1. At this point I'm along for the ride.

Season 5 has been pretty fire in only 3 episodes. We've gotten to a romantic option with Syr and Bell teased since S1. And it has been fucking hilarious. Above average even. It feels good man. Getting some actual fucking payoff after watching for so long.

Overall I love this show. It has survived long enough to "git gud" when it was already decent at the start. It's been airing pretty consistently since 2015. Only in 2018 it didn't have some sort of release.

Thing is I never hear anyone talk about Danmachi anymore. Even though apparently it's popular enough to be on season 5 and likely get another. Why is this? Why has everyone forgotten Danmachi?

God damn Dandadan voice actors absolutely nail it. Makes the comedy work a lot better.

You can blame 4 years between S1 and S2. People forgot it existed and moved to something else.

Thing is sword oriota was in between, but I get ya. It's been pretty consistent since though. Animation has remained solid, voice acting great sub and dub, and the story has only gotten better. It's just sad. You have a nice meaty series but it feels like it's rarely talked about because it took a break and did something in between.

Why can't Crunchyroll just...go away.

Crunchyroll is late to the party by like decades lmao. Short anime has always existed, it was always going to continue to be produced.

Problem is their reasoning behind it is due to how destroyed the current-day attention span is now and not just because sometimes the anime has to be short to hit the right sweet spot for pacing, and some people watch short anime because they just don't have enough time anymore but still want their fix.

I hope every single one of CR's produced anime continue to get blasted in the ratings. They need to lose more money.
