Speaking of mid-2000s anime, is it just me or is there a bizarre lack of kids' mecha shows from 2006-2009? The only kids' mecha anime that was released then was Spider Riders, and Keroro was still going on, but that's it. I guess competition toy shows like Beyblade and Battle Spirits were all the rage then, and there was also the excellent Tomica Hero toku, but still, it feels weird considering that just in 2005 there was DICE/Dinobreaker, Transformers Galaxy Force, and Gaiking LODM, all of which were excellent shows.

Higurashi's numbers have slowed down from when I last checked the score in 2022 (though Sotsu continues to have mid-level numbers, hasn't gone up) simply because the more recent series has come-and-gone and no one's talking about it anymore
This is a good thing, Sotsu and the super saiyan loli fight should not be remembered.

why would you let trannies influence your personal enjoyment?
by that logic you'd have to swear off weebshit as a whole, the troons are all over that already.
Because I want nothing to do with them whatsoever. I stopped playing Guilty Gear for the same reason. Maybe it's retarded, maybe I'm MATI, whatever, but they've ruined basically every hobby I've ever had and I want to distance myself as much as possible while still being able to enjoy myself.

Despite the meme, I haven't seen people talk about it in ages. I only remembered its existence within the last few years because my brother randomly chose to watch it and enjoyed it immensely that he had to talk about it and still does.
Honestly, I watched it for the meme and the meme is about the only thing I remember about it. It wasn't overtly bad but nothing about it felt memorable, the story didn't feel particularly interesting and the whole dollhouse aesthetic they had going on was just not for me. Even for an anime it felt niche.

If it caught on with zoomers I guarantee you it would be 95% driven by autogynephiliacs. So count your blessings.

Using MAL numbers is fucking gay, but it's quite telling that even though it's one of the first 100 anime to get put on the database, Rozen Maiden's popularity has continued to get overshadowed by newer seasons due to Zoomers not learning how to pirate/find any other streaming service besides Crunchyroll and Netflix. It's no longer in the top 1000 popular shows when I remember it being up there a long time ago.

Those numbers are absolutely pitiful. It looks just as bad on AniDB despite that popularity rank because it's a smaller database (and the whole popularity rank is a look into the past simply because MAL is much more popular with Zoomers).

It's just not getting new fans.
Wasn't this a Japanese politician's favorite anime?

As bad as it has been following it week to week, the second half of JJK is gonna be even worse on a binge read once it's done.

There is so much whiplash from one chapter to the next that it's hard to tell whether Gege himself knows what's going on. The long breaks between chapters actually help by allowing readers to chew on chapters, make up theories/cope and try to make sense of the convoluted explanations and flashbacks he forces in the middle of fights.

Put them back to back and what you get post-236 is a long drawn out fight with numerous red herrings, pointless cliffhangers and obvious stall tactics which are made even worse by walls of text disguised as "flashbacks" explaining it all.

The last chapter honestly felt like a troll to me. I legit thought it was a gag release like translators tend to do on April Fool's day.

God Damn it! She was the one that did all the "sexy" voices for "slut" character's. hard to think she was 61.

JP voice actors have been drooping like flies this year.

Fun fact about her, in remembrance:
x3PCHtWfqV.png zU1pc515CR.png
"I like the anecdote about how Atsuko Tanaka was excited when she was offered a role in the Idolm@ster Cinderella girls anime because she thought she could play the role of an idol"
She got the role of Executive Mishiro instead.

Do many anime fans in Japan still see anime made before 2010?
Not sure but fans in Southeast Asia have in Animax Asia
Old animes are most often being streamed or held up on Japanese Youtube channels over a certain period of time, likewise in Japanese streaming services such as Hulu, Abema and DMM TV.

For example, the Voltes V anime is being hosted until October 18th on Youtube and the Gundam channel regularly uploads two episodes of a few animes of theirs at once (right now it's G Fighter, 00 and Turn A). It's possible to watch them if you use a VPN with an Japanese IP tailored for foreign streaming. I tend to rely on Famitsu to know whenever an online event like this starts.

Only shows I am actively avoiding are Nokotan because all of the trannies

Learn to ignore them and not influence you at the end of the day. I would argue this is the same approach to go for towards any english fandom (and political retards of either side). I'm pretty sure they pollute manga genres I can enjoy such as Yuri and Genderbend (aka TS) but I don't pay attention to them because they're not Japanese, the primary audience.

Speaking of which, is the hammer girl alive after getting her head burst open or is she some sort of a zombie? It's the former it's absolutely retarded no one told the protagonist she's alive despite her being even less important than Sakura was.

that's not even the most stupid thing about that
get this, gojo had a backup plan the entire time
give sukuna's last finger to nobara so she can stab him to death with her curse that attacks the soul

are you wondering why they didn't try to heal her before the fight so she could do this?
so is even the most loyal jjk fanboy
those with a modicum of sense are laughing their asses off at this entire shit show

I mean her fate was left ambiguous for 4 years. And in the chapter was confirmed that her body was healed but she was in a coma until 30 minutes (which is a neat plot convenience) before she could hammer the nail.

Also a big point of her being hidden is because Yuji shouldn’t know due to the risk that Sukuna could know due to a connection with Yuji’s soul. Yuji was kept out of a lot of plans like Todo being around still and the stupid Gojo-Yuta plan (that is still the worst thing in the entire arc, somehow Yuta made a plan that relied on Sukuna getting in such a clean slice on Gojo for him to pilot his body. I am convinced Gege did that to piss on Gojo fans).

jesus christ
not that it's been that long but what the fuck
this just makes it even worse
Honestly her being alive is fine but Gege should’ve brought her back much sooner. Like still not have her with Yuji but maybe give her something that could be an obstacle before the finger or maybe have the finger take more of an effort to pierce with how the Sukuna Fingers are broken.

¡Órale! ¡Vamos a Japón!
i am fucking dying right now
So an update on this one, since it did come out and there's a machine translation out already.

If you're already a fan of romcoms you may find it to be really generic. The story focuses on Makoto Ito, a mediocre teen who is disappointed with how plain mediocre he turned out to be after entering high school - his grades and sports ability went from 'pretty good' to 'unremarkable' so fast and he wasn't able to deal with it, so he turned into a loser and doesn't have the motivation to get better. That is, of course, until a sexy teenage foreigner with big tits named Latina shows up in his class and starts sitting next to him. She's so hot, in fact, that even if he wanted to do better at school, he can't anymore, because he's too horny for her.

After he accidentally saves her from being trafficked by yakuza, she asks him out, and Makoto is all for it until Latina starts going for sex right then and there. This is at least half of the jokes in the story - Latina wants marriage and babies and Makoto, while wanting her, has some common sense and would rather actually graduate first. The rest of the cast introduced is somewhat generic too - the class prez seems like the usual stuck-up girl, but she's just as much of a horny pervert as Makoto is and keeps bringing up dirty scenarios unprompted as ways to explain/justify why Latina could possibly like him, there's a rich girl who only measures people by objectifying them and is willing to bear with a terrible date if it means dating a future superstar, and the guy who beat Makoto at sports is a genius at any sport but also so terrible at relationships that he pukes if a girl talks to him and he's incapable of a normal conversation.

There's some nice moments in the story like Latina's motivations, and Makoto being mediocre felt better than if he was a fake humble dude, but overall it's a rather average story that probably won't impress anyone besides how much dirty stuff the author was willing to put in, and if you're not interested in that kind of stuff I don't think it's going to change your mind.
