Yea I did some digging and it seems the anime is way less skimpy compared to the manga. Even worse, the lolcowalizer Katrina inserted her cringe memes and politics into the subs. I think I'll just skip this anime. Srsly, how does that fat bitch still have a job in the anime industry... she should be blacklisted with the amount of evidence against her. I blame Satan for this shit.

Shows like this new Ranma and such aren't Netflix original (like Requiem for Vengeance is); they're just internationally distributed on Netflix. Like it or not, Netflix originals are what they make all the potential weird seasonals and OVAs of the past nowadays, but the bad thing is that Netflix makes them into forgettable slop to be consoomed, discussed on Reddit, and promptly forgotten. They make no effort; they greenlight the first drafts to get these shows released as quickly as possible like with the new Gundam in Requiem for Vengeance.
And, speaking of Ranma, I think I've finally been comedy-animepilled -- by Keroro Gunsou. I hated how sexualized the manga was, but the anime is a lot safer because it had to air on TV (I'm skipping the beach episodes and bathhouse episodes doebeit). The anime also has more references -- not just to Gundam, but to Yamato, Evangelion, Galaxy Express, Metal Hero, and JAKQ -- and it can be oddly poignant at times. Despite not having cool vehicles and technology most of the time (though the secret base and the car they used in Keroro's mouth), it's still pleasant to look at because the frogs are cute. Ultimately, my favourite comedy anime will be Goldran, Ganbaruger, and Xabungle (haven't seen Heybot yet), but Keroro is also nice.

I know 2.5D is built on cringe otaku memes but they're supposed to be 1) Japanese and 2) already established from the source material, so there's no need to insert your own.

As someone who works in the industry she makes me as angry as I am embarrassed. I don't even use my proper job title so I don't have to associate with other "localizers"...

I've actually worked on 2.5D's manga since release in English so that's infuriating to hear. I'm just going to keep staying up til midnight to watch it on local cable lmao. Reminds me of sneaking into the tv room as a kid to watch Toonami.
 
I started watching MF Ghost and I think it fails in a lot of places Intial D succeeded. In Initial D, every new racer was introduced and built up for an episode or two, where we learned about his driving quirks or something his car could do that would make Takumi push himself harder than the previous race, making that moment when the busted tofu delivery car overtakes the sports car more exciting. Now in MF Ghost there are like 14 other dudes all of a sudden in a big race and we don't know anything about any of them.
Kanata is a more boring main character than Takumi. Takumi was an aloof high school boy who by mere chance and routine had developed a talent he himself was unaware of. A complete beginner driving a shitty, outdated, now iconic car against experienced racers. Kanata on the other hand is Mr. Perfect, hailing from an elite racing school and trained by Takumi himself.
The change of setting from illegal street racing on mountain passes to professional races on big road circuits, monitored by drones and broadcasted to the tntire world, made everything feel too sterile. Despite the stakes being higher than in Initial D, as they're now professionals racing for money, it doesn't manage to give the sense of hype of Takumi beating every illegal racer in the region on one-on-one battles and gaining nothing but a small amount of fame.
And of course it doesn't have the slice-of-life parts that made Initial D much more fun than if it was only racing (I'll never forget Takumi being cucked by the Mercedes guy, one of the most memorable scenes in an anime for sure), though that went away in the original series by Stage 3 so it's not all that disappointing, I was expecting it already.

Despite this I'm still enjoying it but it doesn't come close to Initial D and I'm convinced a better move would have been to make a prequel about Bunta street-racing with 80's cars.
Also, at least they used Eurobeat for the races again unlike in the Battle Stage movies.

Second vote for Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. In my terrible opinion, it's still the high-water mark for the entire franchise.

Gundam 08th MS Team: Romeo and Juliet romance aside, it's one of the best at trying to tell a more down-to-earth war story. The main characters are normal adult soldiers riding in glorified tanks, not teenage ace pilots with psychic powers flying around in invincible robotic samurai. Plus it's relatively short, and the action set pieces are great. There's one fight in the back half of the series that people still rank as one of the best in mecha anime.

G Gundam is retarded, but it's retarded in a fun way.

Gundam Wing was one of the shows that got a lot of people into anime in the early 2000s. Not saying it's the best, but it's a proven gateway drug. Recommended if you really love melodrama.

I'd avoid Gundam Unicorn. It looks beautiful, but it expects the audience to go into it already well-versed in 30 years of Gundam lore.

08th ms team is terrible.

For first time go with either the original serues or Gundam 00 (it may have a retarded premise at first but then it makes sense)

Stardust memories is better than 08th team and I’m tired pretending it’s not. The fact that Kou gets hard labour for chasing after enemy pussy, Burning fucking dies, the Titans set the whole thing up and get away with it, Kou’s friend gets a snu snu ending, and Monsha gets to genocide colonists is great.

Delaz dies like an absolute Chad and Cima dies like a bitch.

Y'know, when I was reading Oshi no Ko, and got to the part where somebody decides that Mr Evil McMan must have faked his death because "it's a loophole!!" even though there's no evidence for it, just because he's just so evil, I thought to myself... wouldn't it be funny if it turned out he wasn't a bad guy after all, and it was all just a misunderstanding? After all there's literally nothing beyond circumstantial evidence that he was behind the stalker attacks. Good to hear they actually did that but, like, made it even more retarded. I woulda gone with, the stalker was the dad's friend but was someone the dad really shouldn't have trusted. But instead it's whatever the fuck this is, neat. Maybe later I'll go find some place that has the whole thing (Mangadex only has it up until the translator dropped it for being l*censed) and have a good wallow.
