Been bitching about this shit for a long time, back to old school youtube comments from accounts that have long since been banned for nebulous wrongthink. The west was ruined, people fled to greener content pastures, and now the greener pastures are being bought out and predictably blackened by the usual suspects. Although anybody with eyes has seen the rape tentacles coming from as early as the late 2000s... with companies like Madhouse and Production IG selling out to (((western))) companies like Turner, Microsoft, and WB during the Great Recession - to make capeshit/supernatural/halo adaptations for some extra gaijin shekels. It's key to remember that Japan's economy has never truly recovered from the early 90s, and they have been struggling for decades. By the late 2010s we were being force fed shit like nig"L"et from 2017's live action deathnote abomination...

This ongoing nuGreat Depression we are rolling into now is going to see the Finkish Blackrocks of the west buying up the anime industry right out from underneath the nips' feet. Mark my words, it's going to be much worse than what happened around 2008. The western media monopolies will gobble up franchises even faster than before, and slant-eyed anime studios (the few non-korean ones that remain) desperate for those fink funds will gladly sell out their culture for a debased fiat payday... ultimately lacking any foresight about what happens when the eastern pasture that everyone fled to - becomes just as polluted as the western one. I'm glad I got my terabytes of good shit saved, because this escapism era is gonna be a fucking rough one. Buckle up, and death to netflix.

Some crossposting bit it is this character's bitrhday

This is possibly about all the anime adaptions recently American IPs are getting like Suicide Squad Isekai (actually pretty good btw), Terminator Zero, Rick & Morty, etc.

It is scary to think if (((they))) migrated from Hollywood to other places tho. Not just for anime, but worldly media in general too.

Possibly short term like those Avengers anime or Wolverine anime a decade back. Companies follow fads until they leave it. What are they gonna chase next, Bollywood? K-Dramas? Chinese anime?

Oh shit if the latter happened, the reverse will happen. China could buy out all of Hollywood.

That's already happening, if Requiem for Vengeance is any indication. Apparently the Netflix/Warhammer fags cared so little that they forced Yamane to submit his rough draft for the Gundam as the final show version. I live in fear of what the live-action version will do; since it has mobile suits from multiple timelines, it could either be totally amazing like G-Reco or abominable like Gundam EXA (with Unicorn-tier nonsense added in to boot), but the latter is more likely. Netflix is also forcing anime studios to undergo the ultimate exercise in futility: reanimate One Piece from the ground up, all while the Toei version is still going on, for no other reason than to appeal to live-action newfags who can't be bothered to read manga and will treat the show like the rest of the Netflix junk they consoom. The Saudis need to continue rebooting their favourite anime; hopefully there's some oil prince who likes Aizenborg, and hopefully the Italians like Grendizer enough so that they can convince the Saudis to fund a Daitarn 3 reboot (perhaps an adaptation of the Haran Banjo novels with mecha added in?).

What about The Philippines who did their live action Voltes V? Well one thing they did do is change names of characters in Flame of Recca since they thought a girl named Fuuko sounds dirty. And they changed the intro to Ranma:

Was the Disney + and Netflix anime not enough of a red flag for you? They already murdered western entertainment over the course of the 2010's being as unchecked as they are.

Oh shit if the latter happened, the reverse will happen. China could buy out all of Hollywood.
Sadly Chinese films are better these days. But its more or less an echo and incohesive pale imitation of what western entertainment used to be without any of the racebaiting bullshit.

Late response, but no it's not a troll:

"She's a child who's overly conscious of the fact that she's a child". What did he mean by that, exactly, if you don't mind me asking, because that description brings to my mind Asuka. I only just started Zeta(love the intro), so I assume she's a later character further in the series.

eww
they can have that
If they animate xanxia, it's going to be an endless stream of murderhobo stories, kek.

I wouldn't call them anime because they aren't in the technical sense they're not from Japan, but shows like Link Click and Daily Life of the Immortal King are animated pretty well. To Be Hero X is an upcoming Chinese-Japanese reproduction that's looking good with a unique animation style per main character.

I'm watching Quality Assurance in Another World and I really don't understand why they hadn't been pulled out yet. I'm beginning to wonder if only copies of them are in the world.

You guys are missing the My Hero Academia meltdown going on Twitter and other sites right now.

Long story short, the last chapter leaked shows that after One For All's embers ran out, Deku basically gave up on being a superhero and ended up working as a teacher at UA, with Horikoshi trying to make it seem like it's just Deku growing up and passing on his dream to the next generation, while changing the point of the story from "This is how I became the Greatest Hero" to "This is how we became the Greatest Heroes". Everyone who expected Deku and Ochako to get together after the last chapter is disappointed because it's like they never got together and 4chan is running with the joke that Deku's now the janitor. And of course, none of the fujoshi got the pairings they wanted confirmed even if there was no denying either, so there was some butthurt for a while.
Horikoshi's health gave out and decided to rush it. Didn't even see Izuku's dad.

Some of the Chinese/Korean shows are pretty good if you look beyond webtoon junk.
Fun fact: the Sentai robot designers have been copying Tobot more and more, and GoodSmile even got the Tobot guys to help design Moderoids and animate clips for them. Even Taekwon V is respected by Go Nagai for basically being a Mazinger AU, Space Black Knight is an on-model Gunboy anime, and Defenders of Space is the closest we'll ever get to a Diaclone show.

I'd say it's an accurate comparison you're making. The way Quess acts around Char is a lot like how Asuka acts around Kaji, and for basically the same reasons: teenage girl far too anxious to become an adult tries to sexually court an uninterested older man to feel grown up.
...Holy shit, Anno really does take way too much from Gundam. Good thing he never bothered to take the political parts for Eva.

I'm sure yall get this question a lot in here, but . . .

Anime suggestions?

The first anime I ever really got into, was at least 15 yrs ago; Inuyasha on Adult Swim, mainly cuz it aired when I was getting ready for work in the mornings.

Enjoyed it, but I always avoided really pursuing anything else. When I was growing up, there wasn't easy access to much anime, and I only ever remember DBZ being something that had any mainstream popularity. I mean, niggas have always been wearing Goku shirts.

But now that I've got a child that's right in the sweet spot of popularity and access to this stuff, she's turned me on to some shows.

I've watched some of the classics with her, like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Berserk, and that idol one I can never remember the name of (with the girl rubbing blood on her face as the main promotional image of it).

And some of the newer stuff she's been into that I found enjoyable was . . .

Demon Slayer (seems like a baby's first anime, but its well made),

Saiki K (imo, Japanese humor is an acquired taste, but this one was a fun watch),

Chainsaw Man (which I only recently finished, and was pretty average I thought, denji is quite the coombrain, but the little devil char, power, and the eyepatch chick, had their moments; I feel like it's the first show I watched where the intro/outros were the more enjoyable parts),

Freiran (really like this, very comfy and relaxed, the characters and their dialouges really carry the show)

. . . and Jujutsu Kaisen, which I thoroughly enjoyed and actually find myself anticipating the next season. A very meme-y show, as my daughter and I make each other laugh making "monkey" jokes, and how much of a twink Gojo is and what we perceive as an implied gay relationship with Geto.

One of the only shows I can think of where I actually care about the characters tho. Which, I've always had trouble suspended my disbelief. I can appreciate good characters, I can have fun with the twists and turns of a well paced plot, but it takes something really good to make me invest in any kind of fiction.

I mean, normally I'd treat a show like wrasslin', the good guys are the good guys, and these other guys are evil. But I actually feel bad for Jogo when Sukuna kills him, he clearly mourns for his friends/colleagues, and that's a trait I can relate to.

Nobara's death was a brutal one tho, really felt bad for Yuji in that moment. Dude just can't catch a break.

Anyways, done sperging over that show. And I've also seen some Kill la Kill. Side-note, the fucking Japanese . . . it tends to emerge in almost everything I've seen from them anime-wise, but their perverseness is on a whole 'nother level. That said, it's pretty enjoyable. Feels like it's intended to be a straight up parody of many things, but its balls to the wall style is very entertaining.

And of course, I've seen Attack on Titan (only first 2 seasons), and while I felt it starts with a really solid premise, I didn't feel like it held my interest once the initial horror of it wears off. Plus, the english voice acting (Im not weeb enough to watch subbed anime, and I can assure I never will be) gave me old school dubbed anime vibes. I will say that generally in newer anime, the dubs have gotten a lot better than the stuff I remember hearing in the 90s.

Last one, Ghost Story, the eng dub, was a treat to watch. Explaining all the dated references to my daughter was not what I expected, but they seem like they had fun making that.

So given that background, what's some pretty sensible next steps into the massive amount of material out there. I don't want to waste time with shit that certainly won't appeal to me.

Not interested in anything with hundred or more episodes tho. No One Piece, no DBZ, etc. Doesn't have to be all newer stuff, but the idea of beginning something that huge from episode 1 is not appealing to me right now.

Can't go wrong with Giant Gorg, Daiohja, or SPT Layzner. No fanservice, all fairly short, and not part of any bigger franchises. If you want something dubbed, Last Exile, Ninja Senshi Tobikage, Mechander Robo, Dinozaurs, and Gundam Wing are good choices.

Noted, thanks!
