It's full of neat ideas and provides a unique atmosphere that no show since has truly replicated(granted, a lot of that has to do with the pitch-perfect soundtrack courtesy of sagisu) but the actual explanations for what was happening and why it was happening are weird at best and utterly nonsensical at worst. I also take issue with lore that relies on supplementary material to explain what the fuck is going on. Let the whole thing be enigmatic if you don't have time to explain it in the show proper, that's half the appeal of Eva anyways.
No, because the impacts in the rebuilds are different. They are like stages. The second impact cleaned the oceans (it was one of the plot points in 2.0 that would later be used again in the sequel films where the JMPRO would eventually form wille with their technology to clean the corefied area into the other areas.
There have been some talks about Eva-related shows/content/whatever for some time now, altought nothing major has been revealed. Anno has said that he wants to explore the setting more, but we most likely won't be seeing anything that directly involves the main cast

Eva's strong point was it's flawed characters and their interactions with each other. Something the rebuilds failed in imo, leaving it a bland story. Should've left it as an AU and never be tied to the original.

There's times where the race factor can be amusing, though. One of my favorite VAs right now is Zeno Robinson, and it's because he can chameleon himself to sound like the whitest person in the world despite being black.

It totally has nothing to do with the last decade of retards on youtube spamming video essays along the lines of "EVANGELION SAEVED MAI LAIF!" or "EVERyTHhing WONG WIT (x thing in evangelion)". Its decently animated but the story isn't compelling, the characters are forgettable except Rei, who has the personality of a brick wall, and every episode essentially a step removed from an ultraman skit or michael bay transformers film. Since giant robots vs giant monsters was not anything Eva pioneered. On top of it all with the writer not only delaying the conclusion of the rebuilds by about a decade, but then having the gall to pull the rug out from under new fans and essentially tell them to go touch grass in the ending. When I literally went though college and got married before he decided to release this fucking movie with one of the most retarded naming conventions I have ever seen. 3.0+1.0. Nigger just call it 4.0. It takes place after the third one. Anno is a fucking hack on the level of Kojima and I am glad I did not spend a red cent on this loser with his delusions of grandeur and his trash writing.
