All the nostaliafagging lead to nostalgiabait remakes, who would have thought?
It's started a while ago and it's going to keep coming.
I mean people forgot about the Spice and Wolf remake this year and I'm still mad that it exists when the originals are still for viewing and the remake comes off as unecessary and bogged down by modern visuals (just like the Demons' Souls remake back in 2021).

New Nagatoro chapter is out.

Next chapter is the series finale... I'm still not ready bros.

The OP and end credits for that weird ass deer anime that has been a Goddamned ear worm for the past few weeks just dropped and imo it is exceptionally underwhelming.
It feels like any other slice of life bullshit, derivative almost. I'd say that it's not the studios fault for the Internet running away with a 10 second loop of animation and song but they themselves made a one hour loop of the damn thing over a month ago.
Is this gonna be another Uzaki chan?

What did you think a show that keeps promoting a girl with deer horns doing stuff like pop her own skull open, taking bananas from her horns, and having a horn that explodes if you throw it, would be about?

And it depends what you mean by it being another Uzaki, since it's not really an ijime series in that sense. Even if the deer girl keeps annoying the blonde into doing what she wants.

Something creative and zany, like maybe a Pop Team Epic with a story line, and not bog-standard tropes that doesn't keep looking directly into the camera and says "Isn't it wacky that she's a deer?" with the message of the show, if there is one, being friendship is magic. That's really what pushed me away from chinky cartoons in the past 5 or so years, the fucking tropes. I cannot even stomach isekai because it's almost all the same. Hell, imo the best isekai in the past decade has been Devil is a Part Timer, because it reversed the entire genre and did it in a way that makes sense, and Grimgar, which turned into a really nice little story about dealing with loss. I don't know man. I don't want to make this into a vent session. I'm just so unimpressed with everything that I've seen from anime in the past forever. I used to be into anime because it was so different from what we had here in the states but now what was so different is and in a lot of cases a cheap imitation of itself.

I guess that it's also my fault for expecting so much from a ten second animation and song loop.

Sorry that's my fault for not being clear. What I meant Uzaki had this hype built up around it, granted it was retards were upset with her tits, and when it finally dropped it was just so mid. Then there were the people who had built their ego on big booba anime girl anime who then coped and deluded themselves to thinking it was anything more than just so mid. I'm really not looking forward to a barrage of people trying to convince themselves as mush as they are trying to convince everyone else that deer anime is actually a masterpiece.

I noticed what seems to be a homage to the first season opening of Minami-ke, which was Masahiko Ohta's first slice-of-life comedy series as series director (though he was episode director on a few Strawberry Marshmallow episodes two years earlier).

The opening for Minami-ke Tadaima, the fourth season, also reused the same concept with girls "flying" against a background that was blue sky with white clouds (but that season was not directed by Masahiko Ohta).

Really? I remember Devil is A Part Timer being a fairly standard romcom when I watched it about a decade ago, though I still haven't watched the second season that came out recently.

I know it's not the main purpose but I was just forced to marathon this with a friend and please allow me to say, and ask, if anyone has ever seen this? And if so, also had the uncontrollable urge just to kill someone?

I've watched about half a dozen anime in my existence, and I'm honestly amazed, this is by far, no exaggeration, the faggiest shit I have ever seen, you would have to be born an actual imbecile, molested for 10 years straight, and given a heavy concussion to unironically like this show. I am genuinely sorry that I slacked off during my educational years, for now, I lack the vernacular to properly insult this vile slop of a Japanese pedophile's cartoon for the deranged and perverted.

The highlights have got to be, in my opinion:
  1. A perverted m.c. with literally no morals that has a shrine with the underwear of a woman 10 times his age, made when he was 4;
  2. Him losing his virginity to a 16-year-old as a 15-year-old, she being his fucking cousin
  3. And an un-ironic second season ( that mind you, this show is in a magical world ), where half the run time, I shit you not, was wasted on him fixing his fucking erectile dysfunction after being one night stand'ed by his cousin.
So knowing all of this, how in the name of the mother, does this have this score?

I'm sorry If this sounds mati, again, I was forced to sit in that room for almost 12 hours as I had promised to indulge someone all the while both of us lost the will to live.

let me guess, that was when you got into anime where everything was new and there was a huge backlog of good stuff?
I'm not trying to talk shit, just like to point out not everything can be a miyazaki movie. once you get into something and the honey-moon period is over/the good stuff exhausted, that's what it is, especially when you start to understand it better to a degree you see the tropes everything has (even miyazaki). it's the same effect of "where is all the good stuff gone" - it's still there, people just don't know/don't remember all the forgettable stuff that came alongside it. for example check the oscar nominations from 10-20 years ago, do you even remember most of those movies?

can't really say it's got better or worse. there have always been good or bad seasons, and things change inevitably (even subjectively) which makes stuff align less or more in the end it's just the "same old same old". if it doesn't provide entertainment anymore it's ok to take a step back or watch something else till there's enough good stuff again for a while.

What I meant Uzaki had this hype built up around it, granted it was retards were upset with her tits, and when it finally dropped it was just so mid. dunno, besides the culture-war shit because having a smug big-boobie tomboy in current year no one expected anything else. it's still an entertaining, inoffensive rom-com with lot of situational comedy all things considered, no idea why anyone would expect anything else.
the deer anime will probably funny hijinks with an interesting setup, maybe more maybe less. if it's the latter I'm gonna watch it later when bored or simply something else. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Has anyone read Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint? a lot of people seem to praise it
