Because they didn't make any. Wars in Asia have always been insanely destructive and barbaric, and Korea and China would have the same atrocities if they could. The only reason it's an issue is western mindset of "maybe let's not kill everything" seeping in.

Speaking of, finding out what life is really like for mangakas is horrifying and disturbing. It isn't an easy life at all and they are paid shit. The pay is essentially what voice actors in America are constantly bitching about.
The decline in healthy people is because of it. Quite a few have died with series unfinished. It's why overwork is a symptom commonly heard in Asian businessmen.
I have a sinking feeling Ai Yazawa has a form of ALS, but then she could also have chronic fatigue syndrome as well. There's allegedly footage of her doing a signing at a cafe in 2012, and she frequently has exhibitions and art she contributes. I just wish that she could be healthy again...
The exception to this rule are people like Naoko Takeuchi or any of the ladies from that 60s/70s group like Mako Hagio. Naoko is rich as fuck and is married to a wealthy guy who i want to say is also an artist but I'm not sure.

I saw the Fairy Tail Dragon Cry film after 7 years it came out. It was good but I think I like the first film better. PP from 2012 had a better plot and fights/pacing. This movie felt too short and its plot was a bit bland. But the fan service and funny moments is what made it worth watching. Good film overall, 7/10 but I didnt realize that the film actually takes place in between the last 2 story arcs so as a result I spoiled myself (whoops I guess?) BUT they werent any big spoilers. Just power upgrade spoilers. I already finished the first six seasons and Series 2's 7th season as well as season 8 (Zero). I even saw all the OVAs. And now both films.
Now onto the final season......all 51 episodes. Aye sir...

Naoko is married to Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter. I read Naoko manages his properties because of his back issues. From what I've seen female mangaka don't work themselves to death like the men. Rumiko Takahashi counties to put out new series but I've never heard of her being on the verge of dying.

The mangaka of Chibi Vampire mentioned she only really ever got a few hours of sleep every day while making it and was bum-rushed and jerked around to all sorts of meetings (anime marketing and such) and through projects getting dumped on her without warning in between pages. She enjoyed working on it, but she portrayed herself as exhausted and unkept for a reason.
I also think she remained single. Single female mangaka practically work themselves into a frenzy compared to the married ones.

My guess is that the married ones probably see their husbands and in-laws step in to help. I think the FMA mangaka mentioned her husband being her secretary, driver, and whatever she needed as she signed a good deal on merchandise that allowed him to fully support her.

There's a special kind of person that does not realize that the best way to end a war, better even than completely killing your enemy, is getting the civilians to support them to stop supporting the war effort. If the people are more afraid of you than they are of their own government, suddenly reinforcements stop getting trained. Weapons stop getting manufactured. Production ends and in the worst cases coups happen.
There's a reason we fire bombed Tokyo. Its the same logic behind the less effective atomic bombs. It wasn't about the death toll necessarily, it was about sending a message.
Japan sent the Chinese people a very strongly worded message, so much so that 80 years later, they still haven't forgotten it.

Except it doesn't really work. Japan became an autistic thunderdome for basically its entire existence, which got elevated somewhat after the shogunate kicked everyone's shit in. China became super cucked and emasculated (literally) by their god emperor. Both were stuck in the same technological dead end.
Meanwhile Europe where a war didn't mean the entire peasant populace get Shoah'd actually went somewhere.

I'd be interested in picking up things like Fairy Tail and One piece, but their episode counts are so retardedly high that I can't rationalize starting them from the beginning. It'd be easier finding lists of the best arcs and just watching the best.

One Piece I understand. But Fairy Tail? Only 328 episodes (thats high but not as high as most shonens) 9 OVAs and 2 movies. Plus they dont have many video games either. Its kind of small imo but its great. Dont get me wrong, I love it but I had to take breaks. I started Fairy Tail back in 2014 and I stopped at the Edolas arc in 2015 and didnt come back to it until 2021 and rewatched the Edolas arc to refresh my mind on it. And by the time it was 2022 I had finished the tournament arc and the movie. Then took another break (this time just 1 year) and got back into it. All I have left is the final season which is only 51 episodes. Can u believe that? 10 years of watching this anime and I Still havent finished it.
My point is, even though an anime has a lot of episodes, u shouldnt limit urself from something that interests u just because the episode count looks too daunting. We have jobs and go to school and hobbies so its impossible to fit something like that into our schedule, but if u take it slow u can finish it. It will take years to catch up yes, but it will be worth it by the time u finish it. This applies to any anime imo not just Fairy Tail. I just started Dragon Ball back in March and Im on episode 53 out of 153. Then I have DBZ to finish. 291 episodes.....
TLDR; if u want to watch something then give it a try regardless how many episodes there are.......unless if its the fucking Simpsons.

Dragon ball Recut latest version with broadcast audio makes og DB very good. You can finish it much faster without non-canon, shitty parts.

I have been told to "just watch Kai" or "watch DB Abridged" these are all great suggestions. But while growing up I watched a lot of DBZ episodes. I have forgotten a lot of them so thats why I want to rewatch them including filler. So I think I will just watch all 291 episodes and for the first time ever in Japanese. I love the English dub but since Im watching Dragon Ball in Japanese, I will do the same for DBZ.
While on topic of Dragon Ball. Its amazing just how this anime has aged so well. I fucking love it. I only finished 1/3 of it but its so funny and adventurous. I love all the characters and music/animations. Im glad Im giving it a chance and watching it for the first time. Srsly watch it.

I'm watching original DBZ in Jap-lang too, but there is a fan edit that brings color correction and 4:3 resolution. DB Abridged is a youtube spoof, and Kai jap voice actors were old. Fan edits are superior to the official products. Especially if you aren't watching japanese broadcast audio dragonball. I enjoy lady Goku voice more than the dorky American VA, and the script's more faithful to the manga.

If I could, Id buy the blu ray made by AB Groupe (I think thats the name?) I heard that its the best way to watch the OG Dragon Ball according to fans. But its region B locked and it only has french subtitles. France only release sadly.

There's outright filler to think about though. DBZ and all other shounen has some pretty egregious examples of it. I want to dig One Piece because although it has a lot of annoying elements and characters, it also has some great elements and characters. I came back around because of the hachinosu stuff, but watching it week to week is downright painful. For months now they keep dragging every single episode out... I just want to see the galaxy impact for god's sake.

I have a lot of anime to post on this thread, but I’ll keep it simple for tonight and say that for this Summer season, I will take some time out of my day to watch both Oshi No Ko and Frieren. The latter should be interesting, since it’s been a long time since I’ve seen fantasy anime, and I do hope it’s good.

Hello animefags. I think I will catch Shikanoko when the anime comes out. Read the manga chapters online and it's so ridiculous, it's my type of crazy but funny.
Also Samurai Champloo is my favourite for the action and music, in my opinion it's the best anime series ever made.
