I just close the curtains because the light is ass on the TV. I don't care if anyone sees it though lol.

Wait, wait, Megazone is getting rebooted? I heard somewhere that Mospeada was getting a revival, but this is the first I'm hearing of anyone touching Megazone in years.

I really hope whoever's making it doesn't attempt to modernize it; I know a show like that, especially with its idol character EVE, is just ripe for modern-day VTuber or Vocaloid shit, but I really want them to preserve the 80s feel of the original.

They probably won't, though. :(

Too bad, the mecha designs are all CGI: https://aic-r.com/1647. The character designs in one of the other attempts were also very modernized. I personally don't mind it if it means the story and lore are fleshed out more (maybe Noburo Ishiguro's novels will get translated, but that's unlikely given how few mecha LNs and old LNs get translated).

You just know the new Sunrise Macross anime will be about a Vtuber idol whose actual personality is wildly different from her Vtuber persona and who has a crush on one of the female pilots who is also lusted after by the male jock pilot. Kawamori likes that more than planes and aliens :story:

Yeah, but Decade seems to be trying, plus there was an actual trailer for it in one of the previous attempts. Let's hope it happens!

It's obviously meant to be a part of her mystique, playing off the tropes of barefoot elf/hellenic child goddess symbolism with her costume design and characterisation like how she's always chilling splayed out like a frog. Like it's really evident that this was the intent and if all you see is fetishism it's time to ask your doctor about the symptoms of brain rot.

I mean, it wouldn't surprise me. The Macross franchise has been in freefall since it caved into every tired industry trend and anime cliche with Frontier, and it's been in idolshit purgatory ever since.

People just like to pretend it all started in Delta because they don't want to believe Frontier was the start of everything going wrong--despite that show having a literal high school setting, arguably more fanservice than Delta, and dumb shit like a loli Zentraedi and an entire episode of high schoolers chasing a green alien with one of the idol's panties on its head.

B-But remember, guise, Delta was where it all started going wrong!!1!

I read the manga, & it will just keep getting better. Literally one of the most intriguing magic series of all time, personally.
 
I rewatched Black Butler S1 (canon episodes only) and Book of Circus. 10 years earlier, I really like them but now I love them... Its way better than I remembered, especially Book Of Circus. It has aged quite well with its beautiful animation. I never saw the 2 OVAs and the movie until now. The Book Of Murder OVAs were great but I don't understand why didn't they just make them a full 2 hour movie instead of splitting them into 2 OVA episodes. OVAs are usually non-canon episodes. So that made no sense to me.

Book Of The Atlantic on the other hand. 10 out of fucking 10.... what a badass movie. I can't believe I slept on this film for 7 years. I wont spoil it but the movie is the main reason why I love Black Butler. Now onto...Public School Arc. Only 5 episodes so far. I'll give my thoughts on them later.

They leaned way too much into the idolshit and forgot it was a mecha series about a space air force using veritech fighters first and foremost. With some drama thrown in and actual stakes.

Idolshit was always a part of macross but it was funny how the Zentradi only turned around to join humanity because they wanted to simp for idols and had no concept of music before.
