I was gonna read Devilman because it looked cool. It's among a bunch of the manga I downloaded based on cover art alone, but then I noticed it had the tags "shounen" and "shounen ai". I know what shounen is, but I got a bad feeling and checked what the ai one meant, and apparently it's fag shit...? Looks like a normal manga though... Maybe it's tagged incorrectly? Is anybody familiar with it?

What are those animes there other than Frieren?

Aside from Gushing over Magical Girls I'm not quite sure.

It's quite strange, but it's more old school extreme and not homoerotic.

Oshi no Ko, Gushing over Magical Girls, and Chained Soldier.
Chained Soldier's original title was actually "Slave of the Magic Capital's Elite Troops" but they changed it for English.

Ai means love. So those two together basically mean Boys Love, or BL. In these days, last decade or so on internet, you can say BL is equivalent to Yaoi. Back then (manga reading site), people actually separate Shounen-ai and Yaoi. Shounen-ai focuses more on romance and doesn't have explicit content like Yaoi.

Considering Yaoi is shorten for "Yamate, oshiri ga ittai", "Stop, my butt hurts". Think of like how internet use "hentai" to describe anime - manga porn, when it actually means "pervert", "abnormal" or "metamorphsis".
Saying something like Yuri on Ice is Yaoi. Well ackshually, it isn't correct.

If getting to technical, Japaneses just use BL to cover all works with their main story or theme on Male x Male. Doesn't really matter whether they have or don't have explicit contents.

.. But how much of the story was derailed due to the divorce? Did he stick with the girl being the love interest or did it take a savage turn of events? I'm honest to god intrigued now.
If I remember correctly he made an entirely new show with the actually popular character. But the whole thing had ton of disturbing events.
It's incredibly performative and fake. That screaming "guys, don't fight, we are all the saaaame" avoid conflict I find insulting for the most part and though I would have tolerated in the past for children oriented media, as more time passes I'm more convinced it's a shit moral that just destroys the sense of self preservation for anybody that lives in any area that is safe and should probably be removed. More kids media needs evil that cannot be redeemed, not more "we can all get along!".
Nowadays a lot of children's media is about how no one is really evil except the one guy (if western, white and male) that caused everything and can be morally killed. In the end it's just window dressing to have a viable target of aggression.

Why would Studio Ghibli do this?
God damnit, why is there no Gintama Heidi clips on YouTube, one of the funnier gags.

Is it really shonen-ai if Satan, the "object of your affections", disguises himself as a blonde twink but in reality has no sex drive and has hermaphrodite features?

What do you see when you click on it?
Hmm...

What will be the next "My Life as X Animal" be? A rabbit? A frog? A rattlesnake?
Insert _____ into _____.

That's more of a joke, the original long form is yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi (ヤマなし、オチなし、意味なし), "no climax, no point, no meaning". It's referring to how the comics didn't follow the traditional plot and/or 4-koma structure and tended to be more focused on showing the sex.

Odd question but does anyone recall if Akiyuki Shinbo is still making stuff? I remember in the mid 00s to early 2010s him and studio SHAFT had a loud fan base of weebs who would constantly jack them off, but it feels like no one's talked about him since the fate last encore anime (and the less said about that the better) and SHAFT I think hasn't done much outside of spinoffs for Monogatari and madoka.

Don't read it. It is probably the most disgusting piece of media I've come across -- so bad that I couldn't get past the first few pages. I hear that it only gets worse from there.
Kenny-san has returned.

Finally! I was worried we'd be getting another Spoony situation with never uploading. I should read Spirit of Wonder sometime.

Bishounen Tanteidan - Pretty boy detective club (2021) is written by Nisio Issin and directed by Akiyuki. So I guess at this point, Akiyuki Shinbo is only interested in Madoka or any Nisio Issin works acquired to Shaft at least.
Since majority of main cast are boys, so I can see why it wasn't that popular. Also there isn't much meme-able moments nor the signature Shaft headtilt.

There is 3-gatsu no lion, March comes in like a lion. I only remember people were praising story lots more, not much on visual. Maybe that one time, two old guys compete shogi to each other and dramatic cake eating. It doesn't have meme-able moments and headtilt either. Then again, this anime is more viewable to normies, comparing to questionable weeb stuffs in Monogatari.
