JelloApocalypse, which some of you may know for their video telling you to vote and for his scat fetish (not looking that up I hope you understand), has recently gotten into anime dubbing. The Lovely Complex Discotek rerelease comes with an all new dub written by him and somebody else, and it is rampant with changes to the source material and hatred towards the original source material.
If you want a good idea of just how retarded and how much of a cuck JA truly is, feast your eyes on his passive-aggressive "apology" in the comments of his Welcome to Tumblr video.

They removed any references to Kitsunezuka being gay. They call him an 'okama' in the subbed version. Harimao changed the name of the villian since it was a reference to a hermaphrodite and it had warnings/notes on why homophobia in anime/Japan is bad. They've done other edits to other shows as well. I've mentioned the tranny localizer that works for Discotek and their changes a while back.
Can you please provide the details? I will put your hard work to use as a cudgel and bludgeon the ignorant horde with knowledge.

I'm most offended he apologized at all. Just don't. Especially on internet. Just move onto the next video you pussy. Explains a lot about him really.

Funi was inconsistent with their dubs. Some of them had gay/tranny jokes in the dubs and even the Roberta Blood Trail OVA even had a racial slur in it.
Discotek is the same way. They'll release stuff like Recently My Sister is Unusual, Kiss x Sis, Miss Machiko alongside Japanese exploitation/horror/pinky violence stuff. But god forbid something has a tranny or gay character in it being used for comedic effect.
I mean, Funi actually used to be funny ironically enough. Jamie Marchi who everyone hates now actually wrote the dubs of Panty and Stocking and Highschool DxD which I actually find pretty humorous. The people changed with the times but in Funimations case, they were totally indoctrinated and bought into current year politics. To me, Discotek just comes off like they're trying not to piss of faggots and trannies and I feel like this should be understandable to everyone here since this site struggles to exist specifically because we piss off the LGBTIQPedo+ community on a constant basis. Maybe I'm wrong but they seem to have a much higher standard of quality than Funi and doing shit like dubbing specific episodes of an obscure, forgotten anime like Hitman Reborn just because a niche audience wants to see it signals to me that they do care about their customers unlike Funimation.

Can anyone explain to me why this shit is considered good? It's just about the most generic shounen there is. I guess it's got some graphically impressive fight scenes but I actively hate every character involved and want them to die, except Nanami who's genuinely cool but dies anyway. The villains couldn't possibly be less interesting and about half the protagonists share the common shtick of just being massive assholes to everyone. Even the fights aren't that interesting to watch despite the quality visuals because any character can take seemingly arbitrary amounts of damage and getting blown through a row of trees or concrete pillars or some dumb shit, until suddenly the script demands they drop to their knees and begin spouting exposition.

Oh and of course it has copious amounts of body horror because I guess that's how they try to up the psychological stakes nowadays. It's just a mediocre and thoroughly unoriginal ripoff of Hunter x Hunter and probably a hundred other shounens that fails to replicate what they did right.
I honestly have no clue. Nothing about its plot and setting makes sense if you look even a centimeter thick into it. All I care for is watching Sukuna bully everyone because I don't care for any of them.
(although the power system is genuinely some of the best in manga)
How? I have no idea how anyone can look at that half-assed "system" and think it's good. Reminds me of Hiatus X Hiatus. So much overcomplicated explaining that it consumes entire chapters for abilities you'll never see again or fall into the "special" rating or whatever the hell that has all the properties of the others. It's garbage. None of it makes sense.

A noticeable amount of the people, if you can call these localizers and their defenders people, complaining are only mad that JA wasn't subtle enough about it. "Saying you have nothing but contempt for the original author of a Japanese work, and the work itself, and maybe the audience is fine but don't actually say it publicly!" and variations on "Waaaaaah, the chuds have ruined ALL localization discourse!"

I like how Funimation died and it's like the beast had finally been slain so things can finally return to normal then some faggot youtuber comes along and smashes that sentiment into a million pieces.
Is it really though? When Funimation is just being absorbed into Crunchyroll which is infinitely worse and only growing the monopoly Sony has over the anime industry

None of it makes sense.
I don’t know how you cannot comprehend it, it’s incredibly simple.

Everyone has a Cursed Technique, which is standard fare and most akin to Zanpakuto in Bleach in that they appear innately and cannot (normally) be learned. Each Cursed Technique has a negative (or default) state or positive (reversed) state. For instance, Infinity: Blue is negative (thus subtracting distance) while Infinity: Red is positive (adding distance). Reversal Cursed Technique is gained from multiplying two negative sources together to form a positive, contrary to the Cursed Technique’s singular negative source.

Binding Vows are the next part, and are essentially universal contracts. If you lose something, you gain something in return. For instance, Nanami reduces his output during work hours to 80% so he can use 120% when he’s working overtime. Or you can make a barrier incredibly weak from one side to strengthen it on the other.

Finally, the ultimate skill of a Jujutsu Shaman relies on subtracting elements from their Cursed Techniques in order to make them more efficient. Similar to handsign-less Jutsu in Naruto. And adding the subtracted elements back can boost a technique further.

It’s all rather standard Shonen fare with some added math-y bits because Gege is an autist, you really shouldn’t be getting filtered this hard.

you consider this glorified "it just works" type of mechanics tied with mana bars as the best
and if it were really this simple, it wouldn't take pages upon pages of worthless explanation

imo if artists can do furry porn commissions exactly as requested, dubbers should not have any issue doing direct translations without meddling.

It was like three paragraphs to explain the bulk of the system. Are you genuinely this illiterate?
And I told you it's all nonsense. Cursed techniques and how they actually form are never explained beyond people being born with them. To go into detail, you can talk whatever positive or negative you want, but it still doesn't make any sense. My suspension of disbelief is already broken with how arbitrary and stupid the source of power it all is. Geas, vows, and contracts have always just been glorified plot devices regardless of whatever they're called or the story they're in. They make no sense beyond they exist for the sake of plot.

This is the highlight and subject of this entire retarded conversation. You think this is the best. Something you say is actually simple yet is constantly explained as if it were overly complicated in story? Really? These type of things exist for the sake of driving along the plot but mostly flashy fights and somehow JJK still fucks that up.
Even Dragon Ball's ki can do whatever whenever except for when it doesn't makes more sense and has led to better stories/fights than this.

Anyone else notice female reverse Lolicons a thing? Is there a term for them? Adult men lusting for lolicons is bad. But young girls lusting for older men is good. I like to make fun of Lolicons like Vaush. But I'd be lying if I didn't notice anti-fan service crowds are okay with young girls lusting over older men. They are okay with that relationship because the little girl is in charge. A good example is Cardcaptor Sakura.

Daddy issues.
I don't know, man. You see this kind of shit in stuff like Leon the Professional. It's supposedly just good because he's like a father to her, but she is actually trying to fuck him during that.

It's not really something abnormal, adolescents get attracted to mature people, like 12 year old boys were attracted to Pamela Anderson. The issue is when the adult actually acts on this crush. With Cardcaptor Sakura the writers are women, so it makes sense to have this kind of teenage romance from the girls.
so jjk just straight up ripped off fate stay night
i'm not really surprised since it was obvious from the concept of domain expansions alone, but it's the kind of obvious that isn't coy and more just stealing shit
for fuck's sake, the proto-protagonist's ability is literally copying abilities and they're in swords
It makes me reminiscent how fantastic was Fate writing with the UBW. Shirou's future fate is shown as a wasteland with unnamed graves that just churns out weapons. Really encapsulates how tragic his story is. Kinda fitting jjk just takes the cool sword place aspect.
