Well a least the main character doesn't sound like a total asshole like that, that's a start.

Samurai from 450 years ago asks for help online on how to deal with Yukina, has his old fashioned language laughed at and gets called a sexist piece of shit before he realizes how different things are nowadays. He really grows on you, just like the incredibly foul-mouthed American pilot.

There's also this Japanese pilot who fancies himself the teenage French pilots butler, and insists on being called Sebastian.

Then there was the moment when Yukina said "Instead of telling me to get in the damn robot, you could ask me to please get in the damn robot."

Thank goodness. I'm glad this wasn't going a direction I didn't want it to, and the chick just splits the scene and goes riding around on a train listening to her walkman loop over and over, contemplating the very nature of her self, to herself! That was my beef with EVA (the original TV series of course). I'm not much for those characters but certainly the show has to be commended for having turned the tables there.

Kuromukuro? It wasn't on any of the main streaming sites for some reason, and they only put the first half on Netflix once said half was over. It's considered something of a hidden gem this season.

Yeah I think it was 2.0, 3.0 was what made it seem like this wasn't for me given the time skip plotting involved (though it sounds like they fixed Mari's character now that she's an adult).

3.0 is one of those movies that can be redeemed depending on where they go with it in the follow up. If they stick the landing everything's forgiven. But seeing what we've seen so far, I doubt they'll stick the landing.

Behind on Macross Delta. I just found that while I liked the characters more, it's suffering the same problems as IBO in it's second half. Pacing ground to a halt as they delivered exposition upon exposition, ultimately killing the show's momentum after the first half ended on such a strong note.

Apparently the plan was 1 cour and a movie before they changed their minds during the production of ep. 4. If true, if gives me hope that Delta will finish on a strong note.

I think Danganronpa is overrated garbage.

the anime adaptation of the first game is absolutely terrible, although I guess that's what happens when you try to condense a 40 hour visual novel into a 4 hour Anime series.
