I'm not watching the 2016 series. That's the 1997 series. No way in hell I'm watching another episode of that CGI shitshow.
2016 Berserk's only good points: maybe just having Mozgus make some of his iconic faces and the rape-horse. Even if one were to stomach the CGI, the series did not go well at the start. We could of seen Guts fight the Snake Baron or the Count. Hell, we could of seen him fight Rosine and the children she kidnapped to make into "elves". Instead, we just have the show skip all that make it's own creative take on some things.

I kind of assumed that they skipped the Snake Baron fight because they wanted it to continue after the 1997 series where that actually happened in the first episode, but the lack of Lost Children is unforgivable.

True but even then, they just had to start with the bar scene but with bandits instead of mercenaries. Lost Children would of been nice but then again, people would get crazy over Guts killing children.

i don't think we'll ever get a proper berserk anime. shit gets waaay to brutal for japanese tv and hell i can easily see why the cut lost children in the 2016 anime. it would be difficult broadcast approval when you have a episode of children both being disemboweled and set on fire in horrific detail. least not forget that there would be a shit ton of controversy surrounding it from the small, but loud group who never really gave a shit about the medium. why i would love one and hell i would pay stupid high DVD prices for it too. but i can't not see a scenario were it gets the much needed love that made the manga great. at least the '97 anime is decent enough to be a good watch.

I actually managed to find like 16 pages of the new Ushiro manga! I can barely read glorious nihongo, but the art is really good and it satisfies my autism thoroughly. The artist is also going with the original design for him as opposed to the more animu-looking one from the light novels/web manga (but kept the scarf; I'm guessing they were always intending on it?), which is really cool for me because I liked his hoodie more than the black jacket deal.

Osomatsu-san is a comedy anime revolving around a group of 20 year old sextuplet brothers. The bros are NEETS who are trying to find a joband lose their virginity which they fail at. Throw in some random access humor and shitty incest jokes and you have Osomatsu-san. Rumor has it there exists a live action gay porn parody where 2 of the brothers do the nasty! WTF I don't even...

Awesome. I liked the manga a bunch and kinda went wtf when I watched the show from episode 8 on.
I feel you there. The anime went downhill after episode 15 when it really divereged from the manga. The ending was fucking terrible and it was flat-out contrived as hell.

Eh, personally I got more into the anime, but I think that has more to do with the animation; I really like little details like how Rin gestures with his tail and stuff. It's adorable. Plus, I'm a sucker for voice acting.

I just hope they translate it as "Esquire" this time instead of "Exwire"; the latter might be what they're actually saying, but it's clearly a misspelling (in katakana, esquire is "esukuwaiya" and exwire is "ekusuwaiya") and the former fits in better with the theme of the various ranks.

If the anime ends up being redubbed for the English version I just hope that Mephisto would be voiced by Nolan North (with the Merasmus (from Team Fortress 2) voice because goddammit that campy voice would actually be pretty fitting for Mephisto). Though Sam Riegel does a pretty decent job with Mephisto.

I watch it in Japanese, actually, and I do hope they keep the same VAs, if only because I've been rewatching it recently and I really prefer VA continuity. The Fate stuff has spoiled me; they've managed to get the same Japanese VAs across all the various series and mediums, which is a nice touch.

I tend to watch my animu in English most of the time mainly because I'm too lazy to read subs and also because the dubs tend to be way more memetic and entertaining to an extent.

Dubs are a mixed bag; I recently rewatched Ghost in the Shell: SAC and went with the dub because I didn't feel like searching for the subbed version. Some of the voice actors had a few issues with Japanese names, but aside from that it was actually surprisingly good. I tend to be fairly biased against dubs because of a few series that had rather atrocious performances, but perhaps I should try to let that bias fade as I can no longer clearly remember which series it was that made me hate dubs in the first place.
