Key/Visual's Kanon is an eroge game despite having only a couple sex scenes with each girl. Yes, many dating sims will have a sex scene for each girl, but in something like Kanon, it's only a small percentage of the entire playthrough much like it (apparently) is in Fate, and the fact both have clean versions that doesn't screw up the player's personal enjoyment suggests the sex here truly isn't needed, or at least doesn't need to be seen.

And Kanon is much more vanilla than from what I've heard is in Fate (the worst it gets in Kanon is a possible non-con scene with a girl who by then lost her ability to speak and move because she's actually a fox who fell in love with the MC and made a wish to become human when she was dying), yet the stuff in Fate doesn't count as porn? Lol.

It's a fucking 18+ game, regardless of Type-Moon's comments on how it views the game. It just sounds like they, too, were trying to pretend they didn't make porn because they're so much better than their competitors who wear their boners on their sleeves when no sane human being would ever allow rape worms to be included in their non-porn series.

Ippo fans suffer more than berserk and OP fans 😔🤙seriously its getting depressing how long its taking for him to get back in the ring. I'm enjoying other characters getting their time in the spotlight especially Mashiba whose gotten a pretty darn good redemption arc but holy fuck its time for Ippo to get back in the spotlight.
On a side note Kengan Omega has been getting really fucking good these past few chapters.

I haven't checked into that manga for a while, but he's still not boxing again yet? It's been like, what, two years? Three?

There you go saying bullshit again, even when the creators themselves say what is actually is. Tsukihime is also 18+ without any sex.

And get fucked, since the worms were featured in a main chapter of a main game less than two months ago, so why would they hide away from it for almost 20 years later?

And again, if they were trying to pretend anything, why would they allow this 15 years later? In the HF manga there is an entire chapter of sex scenes.

You keep projecting stuff on creators when they stated that wasn't the case and we have multiple examples of it showcasing why.

And the fact that I didn't even mentioned EXTRA CCC to debunk your whole projection about sex within their works.

And you are still seething at the fact that fate isn't an eroge, it is s visual novel no matter what you say. Just accept the facts.

This is the anime/manga thread, not the eroge definition debate thread.

That scene is from the Heaven's Feel manga? What chapter?

We all suffer together my man. We all suffer together.

About 3 already. It's becoming madness but honestly I think it'll happen once sendo gets rocked by Ricardo
Maybe if I reread it I'll catch up by the time he's about to enter the ring again. I think one of the last things I read was Ippo fighting some feral kid and winning because his fighter's spirit grabbed his opponent's ankle and held him in place.

I've been enjoying Bastard a lot lately, ever since I read the manga I was hoping it would get an anime adaptation one day. And now it's at season 2, which has been a very entertaining watch. Plus Dark Schneider looks hot as hell.

What manga that is adult-rated (similar to berserk and such) had the most faithful anime with less cesnorship and changes. I know berserk and junji ito’s works can never get such treatment, except maybe that new Uzumaki anime but here’s hoping.

Is the Ippo manga worth getting into? Caught up with the anime recently and while I didn't like it as much as Joe, I liked the last arc of Rising. I heard that the rivalry fight literally never fucking happens but is everything else besides it worth it?

Was the Golgo 13 TV anime censored/toned down?

Hellsing Ultimate is a faithful retelling of the manga, complete with all the violence, gore, and necrophilia (Hellsing fans know what I'm talking about).

Violence Jack pulled no punches when it was adapted, and its now available completely uncensored in America (that means no pixilation for the rape scenes).

Parasyte was rather faithful to the manga, though I'm not sure whether or not there was any obvious censorship.

Mushoku Tensei has been...mostly faithful to the source material. Its adapted from a light novel, so some things had to be cut for time, but as far as content goes, its been a rather faithful retelling of the series.

Devilman Crybaby isn't a one to one adaptation of the original manga, but in terms of content, its right up their with it. Amon: The Apocalypse of Devilman, which is decades older, also doesn't hold back content wise.

OVAs shouldn't really count, of course they're going to go all out, no broadcast regulations to deal with.

The penis arm was just barely off-screen, it was a shocker they actually kept the joke in. Think some of the gore was slightly toned down, too, but yeah, it was otherwise relatively faithful.

Hellsing is weird in that I enjoy the First TV adaptation that over took the manga as well.
It has an interesting, off beat, eldritch tone to it.

It helps that the English voice acting is still awesome.

For the other characters yeah. The Gonzalez v Sendo fight was probably one of the best matches. Mashiba and Sendo start getting more time in the spotlight, and currently are up for some pretty epic matches in a few more chapters. Volgs back And yeah the rivalry never happens and now won't (for now probably) because they'd be in different boxing orgs.

Apologies for double post, but yeah no one in the fandom liked that fight lmao wally (feral kid) is just outright hated because of the monkey shit he pulled and it becoming too anime with the fighter spirit, though he was actually likeable in his last match with Ricardo

I don't want to make this even more of a turbo-sperg war but this is just my opinion. The idea of Fate being a eroge would be more of an "Um... technically" for me. Yes, it was labeled with 18+ but so very little of it involves actual sex to the point every iteration and adaption since then hasn't been considered eroge or hentai. To me it'd be like saying some indie movie with penetration is a porno. It IS and it isn't. It has pornographic elements. A good antithesis would be calling Caligula an amazing period piece. It COULD count as a mainstream film, but it was mostly made by porn directors with a porn audience in mind. But I don't think the team behind Fate thought "Let's make an eroge game". They just thought "let's make a waifu simulator with heavy lore that happens to have a short sex scene every 7 hours only under specific circumstances so we can sell to otakus"... which worked.
It's like saying Digimon is an isekai or an equivalent that you can hit someone with as a gotcha. It technically works but if someone doesn't want to think of it as eroge or recommend it to people as one I don't think it's an issue. It's not like it's Bible Black.

Same. I recently rewatched the original anime with some friends, and despite its frequently jank animation + Incognito being a meh villain, the rest of it is fantastic. Seras is fleshed out so much better.

The penis arm was just barely off-screen, it was a shocker they actually kept the joke in. Think some of the gore was slightly toned down, too, but yeah, it was otherwise relatively faithful.
Aside from this, they censored the sex scene and the part where the serial killer guy is shown cannibalizing one of his victims. It's still one of the best adaptations I've seen though.

Well, he asked for anime and didn't specify whether those had to be TV shows or OVAs. Many OVAs from the golden age of anime (1980s-2000) were original works, not adaptations (ex. Ninja Scroll), or only partially adapted their source material and ran for like a single episode. Violence Jack is notable for how, well, graphic it is, and because it got more than one episode that adapted significant parts of the manga, and Hellsing Ultimate is a recent anime that adapted its entire source material. So I consider them particularly noteworthy.

The original Fate/Stay Night was a eroge because it contained pornographic sex scenes, regardless of quantity. As others have pointed out, most subsequent adaptations removed the sexual aspect, even downplaying the whole "sex is used for mana regeneration" idea that justified the sex scenes in the first place. Only the Heaven's Feel adaptations (manga and movie) bring the sex back in, and that's because the sex actually was important to the plot and it simply wouldn't be the same story without it. But originals were definitely eroge, and I wouldn't recommend them to somebody not interested in pornographic sex between teenagers.
