Most of the live action adaptations coming of Japan are pretty trash as well and should only be recommended for hardcore fans. There are very few good ones like the golgo 13 live action film, the lone wolf and cub live action films and the doberman cop movie. Others including the recent shin adaptations from Anno range from mediocre to bad, especially the Kerberos panzer squad movie, I really like jin roh and the live action was really bad. It's a shame there's been no American releases of the live action Patlabor series, with direction by Mamoru Oshii (quite a bit of the series, and then the movie), music by Kenji Kawaii, and action choreography by Kensuke Sonomura, who in recent years has gotten into directing films himself:

Jojo was always meant to be fujo bait, never take the fans especially the retarded western fans seriously. "It's only ironically homosexual, it's actually homiesexual" No it's just fucking gay.I hope SBR never gets an adaptation, and that the JoJo anime stops. First off, Netflix and David Production would be fucking trashing it with mass release dates and shoddy animation.
But my biggest reason is the fans. They're totally gonna misunderstand what made it good, and further sexualize the mentor-like relationship between Johnny and Gyro. They don't realize that a man trying to help a disabled man regain his confidence and use a whacky anime power isn't fucking sexual at all. Both Johnny and Gyro were shown having sex with multiple women lol

It’s infuriating how much Netflix’s binge-oriented release model kills any opportunities for discussion. I already wasn’t enthused by the Stone Ocean adaptation, but I’d all least planned to hang out in discussion threads, maybe watch a few episodes when it hits a part I’m fond of. None of that happened, of course, and then you were just left with months of waiting between releases.I hope SBR never gets an adaptation, and that the JoJo anime stops. Absolute lunacy. JoJo started at out a generic vampire story written by a guy who likes high fashion magazines, but it got whackier as time went on. It's literally in the title.Jojo was always meant to be fujo bait, never take the fans especially the retarded western fans seriously. People saying "MAPPA SBR" are copingSBR is my favourite part, but I have little hope of it being well adapted. The pacing issues were already going to be a problem when moving to a slower medium, not to mention the inevitable use of CGI animals...
At least SBR has a fanbase that might want to see it animated. Nobody wants Jojolion, and, yeah, once that’s done there’s little material to adapt as the anime catches up to the manga. People probably don’t realise how long it went on for before the anime started airing. Also, I realized it wouldn't make sense for a studio to adapt SBR and the new JoJo parts now.
Fukuda directing... Oh dear. I wonder if the ending will be as much of a mess as Shin Mazinger’s cliffhanger. The anime that americans shouldn't watch was announced, the staff looks alright until you see the writer... Ichiro Okouchi... Fucking monkey paw
Shin mazinger z ending was fine, I really love that ending and how it mirroed the original endingAt least SBR has a fanbase that might want to see it animated. Maybe we might get some side stories, like the Rohan stuff. I wouldn’t mind seeing Crazy Diamond’s Demonic Heartbreak animated, but that’s mainly because it’s a fanservice crossover manga.

I'm super excited for this. Gear Fighter Dendoh is one of my favourite mecha anime, so I trust that Fukuda knows how to make a good super robot show. It's also nice seeing that Sadamoto and Gaina are involved. The anime that americans shouldn't watch was announced, the staff looks alright until you see the writer... Ichiro Okouchi... This is a euro/latin/arab/japanese alliance show, so fuck off americans
If I recall right, Johnny even had a threesome with a pair of sisters, right? It's especially funny to remember he's the counterpart to Jonathan Joestar of all people. Both Johnny and Gyro were shown having sex with multiple women lol

dunno, I like anime more than manga. and I say that as someone who grew up reading lots of stuff. To be fair, though, most anime adaptations aren’t worth watching if you’ve already read the manga. They can’t just be average, there needs to be a really strong draw to make the investment worthwhile, doubly so if the manga itself is already visually impressive. A Berserk anime, for instance, will never be able to truly capture Miura’s art - it’s just not feasible in motion - and something like Witch Hat Atelier, with its masterful panelling, could never be adapted without losing a core part of its identity.
I don’t think that one is better, but I personally don’t tend to watch adaptations of manga that I’ve already read. There is the upcoming Dungeon Meshi anime, though, and I do plan on watching that, although a big part of that is because I’m really fond of Studio Trigger.I wouldn't say one is better than the other, but they usually compliment each other
That's why I don't watch most anime nowadays, especially light novel adaptations, even if they are good. Very few will ever fully adapt the work they are supposed to be adapting, defeating the point of making an adaptation. If its not a long running Shonen series, its chances of getting a full adaptation are slim. Sadly, anime-first series are not necessarily better off, as they may not get a satisfying ending, especially if they aren't made with the idea of finishing in a single season, but don't have a second season guaranteed. The only exception is the series I'm following, Mushoku Tensei. The studio behind that was founded with the explicit purpose of adapting that series, and have committed to finishing it.otoh most anime are just an advertisement for the original work that stops after the first season, so....
I agree with this sentiment - scrolling through countless isekai slop when checking out a new season’s releases is a grim experience. But I think that a lot of this is down to the 80-20 rule that 80% of all media is shit, and of the remaining 20% only a portion of that is truly great. It’s easy to look back at the classics and lament a better time, but you’re also forgetting much of that era’s 80% which didn’t stand the test of time.Frankly, I think anime has just reached the point of market oversaturation. Too much anime is being made by too many studios, and the vast majority is made to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
I dunno, watching seasonal anime for the last 15 years, it doesn't feel like there are more anime than before. And while Isekai is bad, it was just as bad as "that ordinary looking 16 year old joins a special school and everybody discovers he is the best at fighting despite having supposedly zero aptitude" anime. And I especially prefer it to the western alternative of like 5 big studios drip feeding increasingly worse product that is designed entirely around nostalgia.Frankly, I think anime has just reached the point of market oversaturation

My pet peeve about modern anime is that they censor stuff that is otherwise completely fine to appear in the published mangas, between nudity, violence or disturbing themes. To be fair, though, most anime adaptations aren’t worth watching if you’ve already read the manga.
