Toonami is really beefing up their lineup. Good for them!

I've heard people discussing that JoJo might be replacing One Punch Man in the lineup. As much as I love OPM, it is only 12 episodes whereas JoJo is a long runner. Toonami can't keep looping the same 12 episodes forever.

Why not? They've managed to loop the same 6 episodes of FLCL forever

and I hope they'll never stop

Some may be surprised to hear it was still running, but the Bleach manga ends next week.

I can't claim it was a good ride. I always found the best way to enjoy it was to ignore what went in the speech bubbles and appreciate the (often background-free) artwork for what it was. It isn't Berserk-level art, but given Miura's penchant for vanishing for years at a time because of the demand for his actual art taking up all his time I'm not convinced that's a bad thing either. All that aside, with Naruto devolved into Boruto and only One Piece remaining to continue onward interminably into the future alone, the nostalgic Big Three era is really stick-a-fork-in-it-dead (not that it hasn't been; Bleach has been pretty consistently crap in the Jump ratings post-Deicide and only meandered for as long as it did because the tankobon volumes were still selling well enough if not excellently).

Bleach has a fuckton of unanswered questions that are most likely going to get swept under the rug. With only one chapter left and no actual romantic buildup between the most popular ships, it's clear that Kubo is just going to ignore the rabid fangirls and their demands to make whatever canon.

Kubo will likely do the next best thing to featuring details in his manga and just release it in a supplementary databook, like Toriyama and Kishimoto have done. It's good to hear Bleach is about to be over though, it's kind of outlived itself in a bad way.

As of now, Berserk '16 has risen from "what the fuck are you doing" to "this is actually watchable to an extent".

They really gotta stick with either 2D or 3D, though. It just looks really off when you have characters with different frame rates interact with each other.

Mozgus certainly looks creepy enough.

I'm disappointed there's no full version of the opening song. They apparently only made it long enough to be used for the intro alone.

So what the fuck is with all the LN adaptations that take place in a world that runs on MMORPG logic? Not just SAO-trapped-in-an-MMO shit, but like KonoSuba and DanMachi where people gain levels in-universe. I've only seen the two aforementioned anime (well, I've only seen the first episode of DanMachi) and it seems like Overlord technically fits into this category, but I'm sure there's more like this.

I think it's just something teens like in Japan lately, that's mainly who buys LNs there. I don't know if Overlord is made for teens though, same with some of the more adult LN adaptions. It's extra cash for these anime studios really.

Not all LNs are shit, Baccano is really fun and so is the authors other series Durarara and Vamp. I wish they would stop adapting all these SAO knock offs really, they all blend together.

At least Overlord tried to mix things up with its cast of characters (it's rare to see a series these days focus around a villain, much less a whole troupe of them). And the designs were interesting (Again, it's rare to see things like a blingin' skeleton or a bug made of ice). Those alone make me place this over stuff like SAO.

Most anime based on LN neither just plain suck or border on mediocre. the source material that all of them are based on weren't all that good to began with. a studio can't fix what was already crap and they can do is pray that don't they some how don't make it worst. but let's be real we are all getting tired of those crappy shows just coping one another cause one turd was eaten by millions. like i am getting tired of the suddenly trapped in a fantasy trope by this point. I just want the next trend make me want to puck already.

The isekai genre is cliché at this point, but it'll keep being churned out as long as the Japanese keep eating it up.

I decided to rewatch Gundam OO, only this time to watch it subbed. It's kinda hard though since the dub cast was so bang on, it's the same problem I have with 0079 or Cowboy Bebop.

I'm with you on Cowboy Bebop, but 0079? Really? I have the same issue with The Big O.
Honestly, I feel the actors are hit and miss with Big O. But they all feel monotone. And while I get that might have been the tone they were aiming for. It still feels ruined in areas when it (the show) takes itself less seriously. Gundam's Dub just feels like the by-product of early 2000s TV dubbing.

Granted, it's been ages since I've seen both, so I may be wrong, but that's what I felt. Also, Big O's dub feels quiet. Like the actors are whispering half their lines or the mixer fucked up.

Welp Kubo pulled a bullshit timeskip for Bleach.
Both Ukitake and Komamura are dead, and Rukia is now captain of squad 13 + she's got long hair.
Turns out there's going to be one more chapter, with it officially ending on the 22nd.
