Finally got around to watching Bocchi and I really thought it'd be like Watamote + NHK + K-On but I was completely wrong. I still very much enjoyed it and you could tell that the staff had a fun time making it (unlike most modern anime), but I think my own expectations caused me to be disappointed. Maid War is still AOTY 2022.

Wait till they read this
Found a manga sort of like this and Tomo-chan except the characters are actually troons
Heard there's another older one like this called "Wandering Son" but I haven't read it, and at least the girl does untroon out at the end

Probably that's how trans women wish relationships with women would be. But...yew know.

The two new members of Liella!, which will be added to the group in Season 3 of Love Live! SuperStar!!, have been revealed, bringing up the total member count to 11:

Wien being in the group could be seen from a mile away, but it turns out that Natsumi had a relative this whole time.

And here's the three Liella subunits, which consists of 3, 3, and 5 members respectively:

The original tweet.

Kinda long rant, but TL;DR: I think that guy is as retarded, as in too deep in culture war. He's like the right wing side of "every thing is political".

I put autistic for that tweet is because the entire anime/manga not once mentions about gender identity issue, it's just romcom between a tomboy and dense male crush. Nor even having Tomo claim herself as "son" or "man" like retards take on Fate Modred and One Piece Yamato.

Somehow enough to make him thinking about "anti-trans", he should take some time off from internet and culture war. This is coming from me, guilty of gaslighting topic about culture war related to trannies-troons appropriating character.

There isn't any trannies trying to appropriate Tomo, even retard take from Screenrant is that how Jun treating Tomo like a boy is similar to misgendering to troons and "gender euphoria" with wearing female clothes.
Screenrant.png Screenrant1.png

He is also missing so much on which retards appropriating characters. Tumblerina troons will take male characters and head cannoning them with breast scar. While male troons just take any traps, especially ones are still straight, so they can larp as lesbian troons.

His follow up tweet is at least a bit more valid.

But to be fair, it's Japanese media not Western, so girlboss writing is not really a thing. Tomo isn't the first and only one either. This whole thing just reeks of clout chasing picking on flavour of the season anime for internet slap fight point.

Sakura-chan and Amane-kun. Don't take too seriously into trans theme and its story is nowhere similar to Tomo.
Also there is a reason it's a flop and author moves on writing another crossdressing theme manga instead. Only thing I can say, the author really likes to write stuffs about crossdressing and gender bender theme, both male and female characters.

I found out about this 30 mins from now on 4chan's /wsg/ cause I don't really watch this show. I can't believe this is actually in the anime. I wanna watch this now.
I don't watch it either, but it's strange that somehow I know about its manga spin off rather than main series. It focuses on protagonist older sister, who is a brocon, she decides to isekai herself to find him. Since she's very overpowered, normal isekai traveling method doesn't even work on her.

I think I saw these pages on 4chan about the other OP Big-Sis Isekai anime that's running rn. Didn't knew it was connected tho.

Ngl all I know about Tomo-chan is that the author is one of those "hardcore porn to mainstream romance" sort, like Nagatoro or Food Wars.

Actually never mind, it's the translators trooning the girl out. I stand corrected.

Feel like one of the major reasons it flopped because it was too similar to Wandering Son.

As we all know by now, the cardboard tomboy pop culture trope has become a fetish among a certain cluster of scrotes lol... anyways, they better not troon Tomo. All hands off Tomo. She's not getting brainwashed today, no sirree.

...now on a more tangentially related note, the whole role reversal rabbit hole has brought me to this absolute forced garbage which might be even worse than Sakura-chan:

Seriously, has this coomer ever interacted with a real female once in his life?

EDIT: same scrote wrote https://mangadex.org/chapter/2fd12ccc-6ed2-4d38-b7c5-5b7afbc2d9bf and https://mangadex.org/title/11862/doukyuusei-no-macho-kun lmao

Not gonna lie, the dinosaur one is pretty funny.

Here's another one
Ichinose Haruma is handsome, but the girl he likes happens to be even more handsome…?!

And an old one from the 2000s, a shoujo take on role reversal
Sixteen-year-old tomboy Ito Miura has become fast friends with her schoolmate and fellow drama enthusiast Makoto Amano. The problem? Makoto's a boy who must pass as a female drama student in order for his family to approve of his acting ambitions.

I’ve tried numerous times to watch the JoJo anime and could never really get into it and I assumed it just wasn’t for me but after getting a free trial for shounen jump, I tried out the manga on a whim and now I’m almost done with part 2. I have no idea why I like it so much more, I guess maybe because the pacing is a lot quicker when you read it versus watching it.
But how insane is it that there are multiple Nazi characters who are portrayed as good guys? Even for the late 80’s in Japan, that’s wild. I know Joseph makes it clear he hates nazis but to have a nazi character be even slightly sympathetic would probably never fly today.

Stroheim is 2nd best bro behind Speedwagon.

Sages of the anime/manga thread, I need mecha anime suggestions. Prefer UC if you offer the Gundam route and not interested in the Witch From Mercury. Incidentally, anyone know if they are going to finish Hathaway's Flash?

Gundam Thunderbolt for the fantastic soundtrack and amazing fight scenes, I listen to it constantly, it's great.

-Gundam 0080. One of the best Gundam OVAs, if not the best. Short and sweet.
-Gundam 08th MS Team. The Romeo and Juliet thing is cheesy, but I've always liked it. Really good action set pieces, and the anti-war moralizing is slightly less hamfisted than it is in most other Gundam shows.
-Full Metal Panic. Funny and badass. Even the rom-com spinoff is great. Janky animation, but that gives it a sort of unique charm.
-The Big O. Batman TAS meets James Bond meets Giant Robo. Although Season 2 is a huge letdown.
-Dai-Guard. Mostly affectionate parody where the giant robot is owned by a private company and piloted by slightly inept office workers.
-Martian Successor Nadesico. Action-comedy, highly underrated these days.
-Gun x Sword. A mecha western. Main character is a grumpy badass. Features a Super Sentai-style combining robot piloted by elderly Mexicans.
-Diebuster. Sequel to Gunbuster. Kind of rushed and stupid, but stupid in an awesome way.

I don't claim to have good taste in anime. Or in anything, for that matter.

Patlabor. Was pretty popular in the '90s. No big flashy mecha fights, just a bunch of chill Unit 2 police coworkers shooting the shit when they're not on duty. Ota is a good boy, just is trigger-happy.

Vision of Escaflowne. Older isekai that follows a girl getting sucked into the world of Gaea after a prince got himself transported to Earth chasing after a dragon for its heart. Political strife and war ensue upon the wakening of the epitome Escaflowne. Charming character designs and memorable cast of characters, with best boi psycho Dilandau stealing the show.

All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku--the 1992 OVA. A cute android girl has the brain of a cat and hijinks ensue with a little bit of "What makes a human" transhumanism questions thrown in at the end.

Second Gun x Sword.

Vandread. Gender wars without the current year bullshit and early CGI mechs zooming out in space courtesy of Gonzo.
