With OnK (or as I call it, Oink), this season will mostly won't be bad. It's what comes after that might be retarded.I don't really get the point of the prologue in Oshi No Ko if the characters might as well have been just general perfect anime protagonists they are regardless. Still pretty solid first real episode about the horror of idol industry, wonder if they go balls deep with the parts that are outright sexually exploitative, especially with Japan somehow letting 14 year olds be idols (wtf?).
So far I'm alright with this season. Konosuba is comfy, Reincarnated in Canada feels like a shitpost, Edomae Elf is also comfy, Mashle and The Hero is Dead are also pretty nice. With OnK (or as I call it, Oink), this season will mostly won't be bad. It's what comes after that might be retarded.
Konosuba really is peak comfy rn. It's been a long time since I saw a school anime this kino, with elements of peak comf.So far I'm alright with this season. Konosuba is comfy, Reincarnated in Canada feels like a shitpost, Edomae Elf is also comfy, Mashle and The Hero is Dead are also pretty nice.
started watching this today and yeah these bitches are crazy, can't help but feel bad for the MC and tomokoApparently, it was more than a few months ago where TikTok managed to make old shōujo anime from the 90’s trend on their social media app:
Dear Brother (1991)

I don’t know if @Kari Kamiya or @PS1gamenwatch has seen this before, but one thing is certain: shōujo and shōujo ai from the 90’s was built differently.
Like fun retarded or terrible retarded? It's what comes after that might be retarded.
Terrible retarded. The first 50 chapters which this season might adapt will be pretty good. It's what comes after which'll go full retard. This also happens to Aka Akasaka's other series Kaguya-sama.Like fun retarded or terrible retarded?
Just managed to finish DanMachi S4. Holy shit that was a good season. The dungeon had been a nothing burger for some time there but it was explored beautifully with S4 and the Juggernaut.
that's cool and all bro but learn how to use the thumbnail.View attachment 5068074

Kaguya sama gets bad later on? Never read itTerrible retarded. The first 50 chapters which this season might adapt will be pretty good. It's what comes after which'll go full retard. This also happens to Aka Akasaka's other series Kaguya-sama.
Waititi made the american version of The Inbetweeners, dont be so sureHonestly, I dont think Waiti can even ruin Akira, over the simple fact that even the animated OVA couldnt. At best what we'll get is the live action repeating the mistake of the OVA aka lets take six volume manga and stuff that shit into one feature anime, Im sure its not gonna become a huge clusterfuck..oh wait.
Apparently from the Ice Kaguya arc onwards, it actually scares me to even watch the film (which is technically 4 more episodes of the show). You almost start understanding why Aka Akasaka (the mangaka) is sometimes (mainly by 4channers) are called names like "Hacka" or "Hackasaka" when you get further into the story.Kaguya sama gets bad later on? Well that sucks to hear. I’d been really enjoying the anime - just watched the ‘movie’ a few days ago. I didn’t even think there was much left to go in the manga, seeing as most romance series end the moment the main couple get together and the only thing left to resolve was Ishigami’s story.Apparently from the Ice Kaguya arc onwards, it actually scares me to even watch the film (which is technically 4 more episodes of the show). 2 things:Well that sucks to hear. I’d been really enjoying the anime - just watched the ‘movie’ a few days ago. I've never heard anyone use those names before. You almost start understanding why Aka Akasaka (the mangaka) is called names like "Hacka" or "Hackasaka" when you get further into the story.
There are, but not on mainstream fandom places, they're mainly on 4chan's /a/. Which is surprising cause they shill the hell out of him & his works.I've never heard anyone use those names before.
That’s a real shame. The previous character spotlight arcs - including Ice Kaguya, which I was initially put off by for walking back the main relationship - have always left me with a greater appreciation for the characters. I’ve always wanted Fujiwara to get some love, seeing as she’s one of the first characters we meet but is still relegated to comic relief, but now I’m not so sure. Your post has reminded me of some outrage on /a/ regarding something she says in the manga, and I’m not keen to find out what it was.Ishigami's upcoming story, if I'm not confused with something else (didn't see the movie yet) is considered to be one of the worst parts of this manga
That’s unfortunate. Would you say it’s still worth checking out when the next season airs, or does it sour the whole experience?Aka basically got divorced (you almost understand why the more you get into it) & led to having some retarded takes on romance, which Kaguya herself was used as a soapbox for.
They're both good series, don't let internet grognards prevent you from seeing for yourself whether you enjoy them. That’s unfortunate. Would you say it’s still worth checking out when the next season airs, or does it sour the whole experience?
I only recently found out that Akasaka had also written Oshi no Ko. I had initially written off the show entirely after reading the absurd synopsis, but the intense praise it has been receiving coupled with my enjoyment of Kaguya was starting to change my mind. Maybe it’s best that I don’t get invested.
The thing with Ice Kaguya arc is that it was a chore to go through in the manga, due to it being weekly at the time it came out. In fact, half of the annoyance mainly came from weekly releases, especially when it was right after the confession as a high point. but when you re-read it in one go, like binge reading it doesn't feel AS bad (it still has story issues of it's own). I've heard the movie made Iceguya a lot better (alongside bits of Ishigami arc), but I've yet to see it myself. That’s a real shame. I'd say you should check it out if you wanna see it to the end. Maybe you'll have a different opinion of your own from your experience. If not, then just take the S3 finale or the movie as the true endings & forget it ever continues. Unless A-1 Pictures makes anime original shit, the 2nd half of this series will turn into rarely funny slop with unnecessary drama, showcasing how Aka didn't knew how to end the series. That’s unfortunate. Would you say it’s still worth checking out when the next season airs, or does it sour the whole experience?

haven't watched the movie yet, but afaik the anime already cut parts out (the whole thing with kaguya's brother, unless that was part of later arcs) and paced it so it ends with the confession - that's usually where most romance stories become boring anyway since the anxiety of will they/won't they is gone. This is one of the rare cases where the anime taking it's own route would be better than whatever the fuck the original source does. Hell, even cutting content would actually be a pro in this just cause how much of his.
