I just started Diamond is Unbreakable; I've been watching this fucking anime nonstop, lol. I'm taking back my statement, I would put JoJo in my Top 10 list (although not my Top 5). So far Joseph is my favorite JoJo and Battle Tendency is my favorite part. I know in my heart I will never love another JoJo as much as I love Joseph (why is he so based?) but it's possible I might like another part more than Battle Tendency. After I get caught up with Diamond is Unbreakable I'm going to start reading the manga.
The latest episode of Diamond is Not Crash had the best artwork and animation I've seen out of the JoJo anime yet. What I love about the anime is that it's more than just an animated version of the manga, it's an adaptation of it and it easily surpasses the original material imo.

What the fuck is JJBA about and why do people get so obsessed with it? I have been, no exaggeration, wondering about this for years now.

It's hard to explain, because the series itself consists of 8 "Parts" or arcs that each have their own unique plotline and set of characters (although some characters from older Parts occasionally appear in later ones). But Wikipedia sums it up pretty well:
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure tells the story of the Joestar family, a family whose various members discover they are destined to take down supernatural foes using unique powers that they find they possess. The manga is split up into 8 unique parts, each following the story of one member of the Joestar family, who inevitably has a name that can be abbreviated to the titular "JoJo". The first six parts of the series take place within a single continuity, while parts 7 and 8 take place in an alternate continuity.

If you're interested in getting an idea of what the individual Parts are about, TVTropes does a very good job of summarizing them without getting too spoilery.

As for why so many people love it, I really can't explain. It's just awesome. Lots of action, interesting and believable characters, and it's extremely unique; it pioneered many of the tropes present in shounen/seinen series today.

A much simpler summary of the JJBA:

I'm probably going to check this out now, because this sounds too insane not to.

Please do! I neglected to mention it, but the sheer "what the FUCK" factor of JJBA is a huge selling point. Each Part gets progressively crazier and over-the-top and it's just fantastic. It knows it's ridiculous and doesn't take itself too seriously, which makes it extremely fun to read/watch. The screencap you posted was from the second part, and it's actually pretty tame compared to the rest of the series.

Oh, and I found another great summary:

EDIT: Also, here's a great site to watch it on.

Since the new Berserk anime looks like ass. i decided to give it a read instead and holy shit what a ride. i spend the last week reading when ever i can. I have to say its now one of favorite mangas of all time. like shame on me for not reading this sooner. but i glad i got to miss out the hiatus though. now i don't have to wait as long for the next chapter. but i holding my tongue cause a new idolmaster game is coming out soon.

He's objectively the best. I absolutely love how he makes up for his lack of raw power with cunningness and intelligence. The fights against the Pillar Men in Battle Tendency were so awesome to me because, while strength did play a part, Joseph ultimately beats them by outsmarting them. Plus, he's just hilarious. His "OH MY GOD," "HOLY SHIT," "OH NO," etc lines in Stardust Crusaders were a highlight of the series for me.

Apparently, Jotaro is the most popular JoJo in Japan while Joseph is the most popular in the West. I have nothing against Jotaro and liked him well enough, but I just don't get how he could be considered better than Joseph. Joseph is like a fine wine; he just gets better with age. Jotaro is just pretty flat to me.
I came for the memes and stayed because the battles were more than just the good guys beating up the bad guys. How often do you see shows where a poker match is a life or death battle? Or overcoming someone who is practically immortal?

JYB with a British accent is the worst thing ever, but I really liked the dub. Speedwagon was perfect imo.
I was cool with JYB as Jonathan if only because his original jp voice is pretty forgettable too. The worst parts of the dub for me were definitely Caesar and Stroheim.

But with Caesar and Stroheim, there's also Kars, Joseph, Speedwagon, Dio, a bunch of great voices. Caesar is pretty awful though, I'll grant you that.

Joseph, Dio, and Kars absolutely stole the show, especially Patrick Seitz as Dio. He's perfect for the role

I certainly didn't hate the dub, I will say there's a massive quality difference between Parts 1+2 and what little we've seen of Part 3. No matter what, I only hope the show gets massive ratings for Toonami and help the show get more recognition.

Toonami is really beefing up their lineup. Good for them!

I've heard people discussing that JoJo might be replacing One Punch Man in the lineup. As much as I love OPM, it is only 12 episodes whereas JoJo is a long runner. Toonami can't keep looping the same 12 episodes forever.
