There are exceptions within CGDCT SoL like Minami-ke with several major male-voiced male supporting characters including Hosaka, voiced by Daisuke Ono, who is so manly that he has a propensity to take his shirt off unprompted.

 
Admittedly, due to personal family issues, I’ve been procrastinating on going through with my promises to currently re-watch Girls und Panzer and Bakemonogatari, but that officially ends later today.

I’m watching the former first and then the latter, since I know both have many seasons and their occasional specials. Plus, on top of the other anime I need to finish, I do need to get my watching priorites in check.

ZZ is the same quality as Zeta Gundam. It's disliked by people who like grimdark stuff for the lighthearted first 10 episodes, which I enjoyed. After episode 10 you're pretty much getting a continuation of Zeta Gundam. ZZ isn't mandatory watching for CCA (neither is Zeta for that matter) but it does bridge the gap as you see the protagonists rejoin the Federation and see even more corruption of the Federation that will contribute to yet another spacenoid revolt in CCA.

I have an omnibus that's 1 volume for Trigun, and 5 volumes for Maximum. Personally, I think the action is hard to follow, it's often hard to tell who is doing what. Its convoluted. The anime is superior imo.

I have a bad impression of Trigun Stampede. The first clip I saw on YT was of Vash looking for .22 ammo for his gun. This might be gun autism but there is no way his giant gun is .22 caliber, he's not hunting squirrels. Also, he was acting like even more of a whiney fag than usual.

Okay watched Gunbuster and Diebuster. Kinda interesting to watch the "progress" (or more fittingly devolvement).

Gunbuster is a pretty odd in being 2/3 grounded mecha and the rest super mecha, but it's very earnest which elevates it. Also nice go have girl battle couple without them being gay.

Diebuster is a mess, all the rules are thrown out and it's ridiculous visuals for the sake of ridiculous visuals. The progress in mecha abilities and construction was justified at least in Gun due to time dilation while here it's due to the plot demand. Also the references to the previous installment feels very forced.

This was of course the time that Gainax became known for producing spectacle and started leaning into that reputation. I do have a bit of a soft spot for it, it may be all style and no substance but it's short enough to not overstay its welcome and I remember having that opening theme stuck in my head for the longest time.
 
I watched the 2019 Broly movie finally and damn, it's the best Dragon Ball movie I've seen.
I really like how they fleshed out Planet Vegeta. I liked feeling sorry for King Vegeta, then Paragus, then feeling somewhat less bad for them after all the havoc they wreak. I loved seeing Bardock again, being a chad, and Gine for the first time. They really hit all the nostalgia and feels, and I loved it. I loved the HUMOR. Top moment was Bulma's shitty dragon ball wish being exceeded only by FRIEZA'S own ridiculously petty wish minutes later.

10/10, I wish I had seen it in theatres, I was taking a break from DBS after some mediocre filler but this movie and the Universe Survival arc are peak Dragon Ball.

Original Trigun was not a faithful adaptation from what I've seen as it doesn't include everything from Trigun and Trigun Maximum (Maximum is Trigun but is called that due to the author not having the rights for just Trigun).

The anime was intended as a reboot akin to how Marvel and DC would reboot their own characters.

In the beginning of the anime, Vash has neither the silver revolver or the big arm gun like he did in the 1998 one. You could say this one is more faithful as it does a better job adapting the material but the original one still holds up well, which harms this attempt as it's failing to surpass it in it's own way. At least they got Johnny Young Basch to voice Vash again so that's nice.

Having just finished Bleach, is there any reason as to why a Hell arc would be done? My issue is with who would be a suitable villain if Ichigo is still the protagonist as I don't know how you surpass Aizen and Yhwach. It'd be nice to see the story continue but what suitable threats would you have for Ichigo? And there's no way they do a Boruto with Kazui

Kubo needs more money and Bleachfags need more cope their mid series is GOAT material.

The OG is practically 1:1 in covering the first chunk of the manga, it just diverges around the beginning of Maximum. I wouldn't necessarily say that Stampede is more faithful; while it is borrowing certain elements from the manga, it's not following its plot. We've got two separate adaptations.

No. Kubo has even implied he doesn't plan on continuing it.

just skip ZZ and read the wiki if you absolutely need core plot info from it. ZZ is awful and only propped up by contrarians.
 
Saw the Demon Slayer thingy in theaters. I was aware that it was just going to be a showing of three episodes but it still felt weird.

It also dawned on me the that one of the most controversial scenes in the series was going to make an appearance in an episode

Basically this just meant that:
I GOT TO SEE MITSURI'S BIG FUCKIN ANIME TITTIES ON THE BIG SCREEN

The whole thing was weird but it was a neat experience. Genuinely looking forward to the anime picking back up again.
