I need to play the visual novel. I did not like the anime and I don't know if that was just due to J.C. Staff, the director, or what. Same with Rewrite, what a fucking boring anime that was, yet I hear the visual novel is godtier. Was there just something that much better about KyoAni or what?
It has a fun baseball mini-game which is triggered several times throughout the story, although I found it a bit annoying that it didn't have a gamemode of its own from the game menu. Unless I had to complete all routes or something.

i liked how the mc and the Rin kept getting stronger each route to show how much they grown. same with the fighting mini-game.

beating the final boss (Kusoke) atleast was so satisfying by the end of it all.

How is Diebuster? Seen a random YT clip and it looked pretty cool.

Didn't know it exists, probably wasn't included in the old English patch.

I went to see the Demon Slayer movie with my nephew. Was it worth it to pay the cost of a movie to see one new episode on the big screen?

Ehhh not really. But it was cool to see them on a big screen and fun to hang out with my nephew and his friend who are big fans.

The new episode was good and I'm looking forward to the new season.

Oh shit, gorilla might be coming back to Jump

Seems to be tease something about a oneshot he made in 2008 called 13. might be a full serialization, but the fact that it being teased on the twitter for Jumps YouTube of all places, its more likely it'll be a motion comic with Sugita voicing not-gin one last time

Liella! will reveal their new 1st year characters for Season 3 of Love Live! SuperStar!!, on April 28:

I do wonder if this means the pacing issues that happened in the first 2 Seasons of the show, will still be a thing.

would be huge if the gorilla is coming back to Jump, just recently finished watching Gintama with a friend and it still holds up after all of these years of not watching it.

Watched the new Demon Slayer "film" in theaters with my brother, putting film in quotes because it's just the last three episodes of the previous season and the first episode of the new season stringed together without even editing to remove the "previously on" segments. It's the movie version of an Early Access title.

It was funny to see the other movie goers slowly come to the conclusion we were all scammed.

Maybe it's because it's Gainax, but the writing and crazy shit at the end made it feel like it was a prototype to Gurren Lagann. It's not as good as Gunbuster, but it has some nice and clever tie-ins to the original.

pretty animation though
from a very mid story

Dig this crazy manhwa, the title and synopsis
Summary:
I am a woman who is tough to anyone who isn’t my type. Whether he be ugly or decent looking it doesn’t matter. My weakness is a beautiful guy! However I haven’t found anyone yet… “Wait for me beautiful guys, I, Choi Mi Ra will find you!
The real plot: some bishonen crazy girl moves to Seoul after her dad remarries a rich lady and "collects" pretty boys. It's laughably bad, one thing though fascinating, one guy she targets

She was going to help this American guy track this other guy down but took a good look at him and becomes Ms. Steal Your Pretty Boy. She once supported him now she is taking him for herself. Other character is this other girl that has the same obsession as hers except she is adamant to the point she kidnaps them. Oh yeah the reason for the American guy's attraction to the one pretty boy well
Korean boy's dad saved him when terrorists tried to bomb the plane he was in, he was so moved he swore to marry one of the kids but he had no daughters

Some reason. Since this was made in the 2000s I guess it's safe to assume those terrorists in the plane are Middle Eastern. Should've blown this guy up can't believe this story made me root for the terrorists.

Fans get what they deserve for not doing some quick, simple research on every anime film that comes to theaters.

I usually avoid reading about a film because modern synopsis like to spoil the setup. It doesn't help that the name of the film makes it sound like it's new shit. And even then, the synopsis makes it sound like you get at least a better experience rather than the exact episodes cut back to back. Like jc they put the long ass credits in the end of episode 10 into the film.

I'm pretty sure the film was due to the tax evasion shenanigans I heard Ufotable was busted doing.

Ok. I finally did it. After much begging from my friend and hearing about it from everyone, I watched Bocchi the Rock. On 2 hours of sleep lol. As such it's kinda a blur, ngl. But I did like it, and I did like our little autist. Seeing her go from shut in the closet to music star was pretty cool and cute. Also the dad:

Why is he full hentai protagonist and we never see his eyes lol?

I also finished, finally, Ya Boy Kongming. This was a long time coming, and finally seeing the end, with Miku singing Dreamer, and the Azalea group throwing away their masks and slutty costumes to do what they wanted, one hell of a finalie, and I can't wait for season 2.

Against my better judgement, I've been watching Trigun Stampede. I'm a huge nostalgiafag for the old anime, though I only ever read 1-2 volume of the manga.

So far I've had mostly mixed feelings about it - some things are done well, there are some nice character moments, and the animation is growing on me.
But after episode 5 I'm leaning toward a negative opinion. It feels like they are just changing things to be edgy and they don't really make sense. I don't see the point of the kid's story other than to make Vash look bad, and to have a big reveal with emotional impact, which feels unearned. The original story with Monev was fine, and it seems like they're just trying to make it edgier and more shocking.

Vash comes across as way more incompetent in this version, which deprives him of a lot of his nuance as a character. Vash's appeal is that he looks and acts like a dork, he's a ridiculous pacifist, he's been in love with a dead woman for over 100 years, but he can back up his wacky behavior and philosophy because he's just that freaking good. In this one, he's an idealistic dork that can't back it up; Vash loses a lot of his charm when he just takes L after L, doing nothing useful and being vaguely sad all the time. The character of Vash is one of the strongest and most unique aspects of the original Trigun, and so far, it's been diluted in this adaptation. It's like his entire frame as a character has been shifted and I'm not confident that there's a good reason for this.

A lot of stuff is really hamfisted too, like the opening with Roberto explaining to Meryl what a Plant is? Why wouldn't she know that? That's like explaining what computers are to an adult.

Overall my impression is leaning toward this is just another gritty reboot trying to milk nostsalgia for the original series, without the stuff people really liked.

Another thing is that it feels like more a mish-mash of other franchises rolled into one, instead of its own thing. This could be because "wild west, but in space" is played out, but I recognize heavy elements taken from Dune, Star Wars, Firefly, and a few other shows.

After all that, I still don't hate it and I'm trying to give it a chance because some stuff is done really well and it gives me hope. I fear that this is going to be another Star Trek: Picard though, where they shit all over an established franchise with a grimdark reboot that slanders as many beloved characters as possible.
This is kind of how I feel about it. The original was wacky and eclectic and pulpy, and had a great soundtrack courtesy of Tsuneo Imahori and his slide guitar genius. Stampede feels like what Trigun would look and sound like if Denis Villeneuve did it, and for some reason, it's leaving a bad taste in my mouth. It's technically competent, but it's missing a soul.

Eh, it's pretty normal not to do full face reveals for fathers in some slice-of-life manga.

Like, in WataMote, Tomoko's father really only makes a couple of appearances. In one chapter, when he finds Tomoko asleep and puts her to bed, you only see the bottom half of his face, and, in a much later chapter, he takes Tomoko fishing and you get a big reveal in the rear-view mirror of the car that his eyes are very similar to Tomoko's, and also to her younger brother Tomoki (but still without showing his full face).

He was just such a nice guy I was worried it meant something. Also her parents are young as shit.

I will say, I cannot appreciate Bocchi for the simple fact that I binged it running on 2 hours of sleep- I took off work. It was good but I need to rewatch it, I was basically shitfaced and white knuckling my way though it, which is really sad because Bocchi was really sweet, and a pretty good representation of what it's like to have mental issues.
