Yep. Distributing works depicting uncensored genitalia may violate Japanese obscenity law. It's an old law that entered the books when Japan wanted to adopt the prudish ways of the then heavily Victorian-influenced West in order to appear more "modern" by Western standards back then.

Well here lately I've been watching Haven't you heard I'm Sakamoto. I really like it so far. Some of my favorites are Non Non Biyori, K-on, Watamote, Chaika the coffin princess. I'd really like more comedy suggestions like Sakamoto if you know of any.

Nichijou Sabagebu is pretty similar in format to some of those shows. I would also recommend Inferno Cop but it's a web series and really different in style compared to those shows, still really funny though.

When it comes to manga I really like Junji Ito's stuff. Especially Uzumaki, I am a huge fan of Lovecraftian horror.

If you like horror check out Midori Shoujo Tsubaki. The movie is fully subbed on YT, it gets really fucked up at many moments. Also the artistry of the movie is extremely good, but looks dated because the author of the manga had to make it mostly himself.
 
Since last time I posted, I started and finished a couple of things:

- Big Windup. Liked what I saw for the most part, though I'm hoping the main character gets his shit together. Got to episode 15, haven't watched any further.
- Kingdom. Picked up the manga, so far around chapter 140. Pretty good, though as with anything shonen, the pace is a bit on the slow side.
- Monster. Had read the manga a while ago, figured I'd watch the anime to refresh my memory. As an adaptation, it felt kinda pragmatic. Still enjoyed it since it's Monster, but it felt better realized as a manga.
- Steins;Gate. The main character is great and the way it deals with time travel is well done and intuitive. Still have to see the movie.
- Garo. In the middle of watching Season 1. The dynamic the main character and his father have is pretty interesting, but as a whole it's nothing too groundbreaking. Still, makes the impression that this'll change as the story progresses.
 
I started Polar Bear Cafe yesterday. Penguin's my favorite character, which is fitting since he has the same voice actor as my favorite Osomatsu-san character.
 
I can understand why some people think the animation of MSG 0079 is really outdated, but honestly people blow it out of proportion. Yeah, some of the animation is a bit shit, but honestly it's nowhere as terrible as some of anime of the period or some contemporary series.

On that note, there is some talk of redoing 0079 in the style of Gundam: The Origin if Origin does really well. I don't know if I'd be opposed to it or not, since the original Origin manga does take place during the events of 0079, with some liberties taken here and there. I think it could be cool if done right, but with a series as notable as 0079 I think there's a possibility of fucking up.

Watch the original live action stuff, it's significantly better (look for the GomenRider scrub). Also, avoid Crimson Moon. It's easily the worst entry in the franchise.
