I think they were trying to impersonate the way that Mayumi Tanaka did her voice back in the 80s version. I think they did a good job considering that. Shigeru Chiba being Ryuunosuke's Dad is a pleasant suprise though, I missed Megane's VA.

Yeah Hellsing Ultimate is fucking awesome, one of the songs in the OST plays a whole ass Nazi speech for 50 seconds before dropping into the song.

Also I finally got my lazy ass around and finished Akiba Maid War, its AOTY.

The only abridged series that are better than the actual shows are SAO and Bleach because they were already shit.

Goblin Slayer sucks. The first chapter is the most brutal one, and it never gets it back. I don't really like the abridged series (the one by the jagger whatever dude) because Goblin Slayer being comedically crazy gets really old. Everyone else is funny at least.

It's kinda interesting, how both the Abridged and the OG material have the same issue, Goblin Slayer himself isn't that interesting (even if you dial him up to 11 and make him nuts), but the characters around him are interesting or funny.

They made him only about killing goblins. Not much to go off of. There's a reason why the Goblin Slayer threads on /a/ devolve to just ranting about Spear Girl in Brand New Day or whatever's fat ass.

I can't remember who said it, but someone summarized Goblin Slayer as "He's that one edgy dick that joins your D&D game, makes a character who's all about killing ONE enemy and that's about it."

I like how the niggerfaggot rags on people for criticizing it for being "different" only to give some of the tiniest examples of Stampede's changes that proves the changes are retarded. Example: Meryl doesn't shoot nor own any guns in Stampede. That's a literal downgrade from her original character where she owns a shit-ton of derringers because she can totally defend herself on a planet of gunslingers. Who'da thunk the original Trigun was much more feminist than the modern reboot?

Really the only thing that TFS improved with Hellsing Ultimate is just Zorin (the most boring character in Ultimate), other than that it's a hit or miss comedy series but becomes misses in the last two episodes.

Im gonna say it becomes a trainwreck in three episodes really, as for Zorin while she was boring I for the life of me cannot say the shit TFS shoved was better (or maybe it were all the jokes in that episode that made me cringe hard)

Since Japanese love body horror thats the main way people get taken out, and fans have joked abour it being like totally spues where its the writers barely hiden fetish. While I am admittedly extremely out of touch and date with the franchise, I think I preferred it when Digimon were mostly intelligent non-humanoid monster-things and not furries. My first thought on seeing that image was actually "Wait, have Digimon always had tits?" and I had to pull up the wiki to check.

Though admittedly they've gone too hard on Humon shit and all MC Digimon are specifically designed to be MCs as opposed to the first season where they just everyone whatever.
