I don't know why I end up comparing Iruma and Boku no Hero in my head and just think, "Iruma is Boku no Hero but if it had a likable MC, likable cast, and was actually good. Also its gay as fuck lmao"

No clue how the Iruma anime has been but I assume it's solid.

Fall is also looking like a solid season for anime even if CSM will end up blotting out the sun when it finally drops.

I had the same thing happen to me. In fact, that's why I saw it at first. I honestly would say that it's better than MHA in some aspects (almost Vigilantes-tier kino, that's rare to achieve). I remember that Iruma-kun S2 was airing at the time of MHA S5 & I remember being angry at MHA S5 for taking a break due to how shit it was, meaning I won't have an Iruma-kun S2 episode to cleanse my head if the fuckery that was MHA S5.

On the subject of comparisons, when I started watching Iruma I thought to myself that it felt like a better Disgaea anime than the actual Disgaea anime.

Disgaea anime was so disappointing. Especially after that one “sneak peek” trailer on Disgaea 2 that made it seem way more like the game’s plot.

I always forget that the Disgaea anime existed. I remember hearing about it after finishing the first game and seeing how Laharl looked in the anime and NOPE'd the fuck out of there. It's a shame because the trailer had so much potential but I guess that's what trailers are supposed to do.

I have a love hate opinion on the iruma anime
I don't really to really like how the show made the art/character designs more clean since I think that's part of it's charm and there are moments where I think they made it more kid friendly.
On the other I really like it because it feels like a mid 2000s shonen anime that was updated in a few places and not nearly as dragged out or filled with filler episodes.

I always assumed something changed between that trailer and the making of the actual anime.

So I know the Naoko editions of Sailor Moon don't have the color pages. I'm curious though is it a huge loss? It's more affordable for me. I mainly am here for the new translation and liner notes. Naoko herself apparently prefers this translation.

An anime film from the Happy Science cult got translated into English:

Uchuu no Hou: Erohim-hen

The Laws of the Universe: Part 2

Their basic tenet is basically similar to the Secret by Rhonda Byrne which was heavily promoted by Oprah Winfrey.
If you're interested in this and cults, I just want you to know that this is the 9th movie from the cult.

They've been cranking out this crap for years, and they've always managed to get English dubs which are seen maybe at one theater in L.A. so they can qualify for the Oscars. They never win, of course, but they keep doing it anyway.

They used to have actual well-known voices in these, who were evidently under the impression that it was just sci-fi shit about aliens and not something from a cult. (Though the latest film doesn't seem to have any of these voices. Seems they all caught on!)

There is now growing anti-cult sentiment in Japan, with the population demanding more scrutiny of the ruling party's ties (as well as those of Shinzo Abe) to the Moonies. I wonder what impact that'll have on things like this... Then again, the Happy Science guys are native Japanese and not Koreans.

The plot seems cool, but I know it's cult propaganda so are these movies all like Battlefield Earth: The Anime? Which Happy Science movie should I start with?

You have better things to do in life than watch crappy movies made by cults. The time you waste watching those is time you could spend watching something better.

Perfect reintroduction of Chainsaw Man. The devil tries to pull some trolley problem shit on him so he just murders the fuck out of him leaving both groups to die so he can save a cat.

Sometimes Fujimoto seems like the kind of guy who would get in long arguments complaining about "moralfags" but god damn if his nihilistic bullshit isn't entertaining.

They're batshit hilarious for the first hour, then it gets boring for the rest of the movie's duration, even with a group of friends. They just repeat the same basic beats with maybe a few exceptions (the second film shows the Reptilians, but they don't stick around). I wasn't aware they were sticking with the same(?) characters in the UFO lately.
