Just here to say what happened to Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer was fucking murder. Legit fucking slideshow animation and paced in the most retarded way possible.
I'm fucking livid.

I remember a rumor that when the manga was at it's peak there were rumors of an anime but Mizukami wanted peak Gainax + The Pillows for an OST and that wasn't going to happen. So I got to ask why the FUCK did they make an anime over a decade ten years after the fact on the budget of a stale pack of instant noodles? It's not like his current manga (Solte the Traveler) has a snowball's chance for an anime considering it is getting chapters on a seasonal basis. Who the fuck greenlit this tripe?

I hate Japan so much it's unreal.

That said otherwise this season has some good stuff so I can only be so mad. Yofukashi in particular is fantastic and reminds me of old Shaft in all the right ways. Shadow House is also a fantastic manga, no clue about the anime or if I'm going to watch it yet.

Just want to point out that this horror manga Hundred Ghost Stories of My Own Death is one of the best, though thrilling (no pun intended), stories I’ve ever read.

When you get up to Chapter 17 and read the story about how his own mother would selfishly and horribly throw his own son in the trash only to turn into a real life Parasyte-like monster with four to five arms and two legs to then devour and kill and his own mother, just remember to take a break and think: this is no Junji Ito or Kazuo Umezu.

This is some next level Japanese horror. Brilliant artwork, that actually does not scare you for the sake of scaring you; it actually is a lot deep than most give it credit for, even with the surreal imagery looking larger than life.

Oh, I forgot how bad this arc of Made In Abyss gets. There is a big theme of Motherhood and the Value Village runs on the Austrian School Theory of Value. It's good for that reason, but it also gets really weird in it's exploration of those themes. For those who aren't aware, the Austrian Theory of Value is about the idea of subjective value, things are valued for personal rather than labor/ supply/ market speculation.

Despite it being the Manga's Namek, this is a pretty good arc. It's gonna scare off normies though, a sterile child giving birth due to it's desire to be a mother and being used as a sacrifice is fucked up.

Is the Maison Ikkoku anime worth watching? I'm split between reading the manga or watching the anime and I heard the anime had a Gilbert O'Sullivan song as one of the OPs and I like most of the Rumiko Takahashi stuff I've seen so far.

Also Casshern Sins looks interesting and the OP is sick. Is it any good?

got mine during start of covid
It has the original song. It's subs only tho

I got the Viz manga when they had the "Editor's Choice" editions that were unflipped. It's worth a read for a more natural take on a relationship that takes years to fully develop between the characters.

And here's the Gilbert O'Sullivan tunes they used only once!

Happy 900th page everyone!

Who asked for this? Who is the market for this? Anyways, gotta go and produce the English dub of "Dallos" the masses have been clamoring for.
I swear to god if it contains Jamie Marchi, Monica Rial, Erika Harlatcher, Casey Moniglo, etc...........

I actually don't mind if its Cherami Leigh or Erica Lindbeck (*GASP* @SiccDicc after Kametz died i went back and.....oh god this leaves a bad taste....she's not that bad in her roles........)

You know anime is going to be utter garbage when one of official trailers looks like a preview of the next episode and the other trailer in one of the most important moments has no music and feels awkward. Being an animator in Japan doesn't belong to the easiest jobs, but I'm still curious who saw it and thought ''Yeah, it looks good for a trailer''. Satoshi Mizukami is a great mangaka and after this abomination I don't think we will ever get Spirit Circle or Sengoku Youko adaptation.

What's so bad about Erika Harlatcher or Casey Moniglo (Marchi and Rial I agree are insufferable)?

Whew. Ok. So...

Erika: Grating voice especially as Ann Tamaki. She's fine in the role but even i can admit it is grating. Also, play Atelier Ayesha for 10 minutes and come back to me.

Casey: 🚨🚨🚨TROON ALERT📢 ⚠️ 🚨 📢 ⚠️ 🚨
This....thing is a Daman Mills supporter and their version of Shinji was godawful. The only good thing about Ikara dub was Carrie Keanen as Misato.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I saw a list of girl chikd assassin's on YouTube and one of them was a Henrietta from Gunslinger Girls anime.
I never saw this anime. But I know the name. Laura Bailey in it i think.. Is it good? (I love thr Girls with Guns genre I confess ) my favorite anime is Noir. Black Lagoon is also in my top ten as is Baccano. And I don't need to remind you of Black Widow lmao.
How depressing is it? Is there animal death? (For reference....I can handle John Wick because that's literally the driving force of the films. But I always always skip the season 1 episodes of Hell Girl specifically because of the two animal abuse episodes)
I looked up the song. Light Before We Land. Is catchy
Gunslinger Girls is kino, I'd also recommend Riding Bean from the same universe.
I fucked up, it's Gunsmith Cats that's in the Riding Bean universe, Gunslinger Girls is a different thing.
So, is Lyza the ultimate villain in Made in Abyss?
well her name is ambiguously Ryza (ie Riser) so obviously at the bottom layer there is a black hole and she's actually just Riko having performed a timelike trajectory manoeuvre backwards somehow so she could stillbirth herself in the past in an act of infinitely recursive incest. spoiler though.
So, is Lyza the ultimate villain in Made in Abyss?
It's unknown. That's part of the mystery, there is a general motif of caregivers and most of the ones we meet are odd. Ozen is basically a female pedophile who has infinite sour grapes about Lyza. Bondrewd is an inhuman monster that does "love" the children he's experimented on; Prushka still loves her father even as fucking rock. Wakuzyan is odd because his motivations were a mix of wanting to explore the Abyss and keep the people under him safe. Veko is literally someone who wanted to protect her surrogate child and that child's dream, but was too weak to do anything.
Lyza really only has shown traits similar to Riko. They both view the Abyss as a wonder despite the horrors. Lyza didn't abandon Riko, either. Lyza left her in the protection of the orphanage and her apprentice for safety. Generally, I just want to see why Lyza is called Lord of Annihilation despite the other White Whistles shown being every combat proficient.
Also I think you mixed up series. Gunsmith Cats and Riding Bean share the same universe.
I just saw that fuck-up.
Apparently, the Keanu Reeves comic BRZRKR is getting an anime made by Production I.G.. It'll have 2 seasons & will sadly be on Netflix.
I don't trust Kekflix a single bit, but I have heard the comic is kinda kino. If Keanu gets authority like he did at the time of comic (he has co-authored the comic) with the anime's direction, it may be kino. But then again, it is Kekflix we're talking here.
Why would anyone wanna watch a version that doesn't contain Noriko Hidaka's shouts? I can't believe they'd make an dub instead of restoring the cut with the pubes in pristine 4k.
