Seven Seas put out a statement regarding that manga where a translator made a character trans when they were not in the original book.

Essentially, they recognize it’s a sensitive issue, but the translation put out did not fit that of the author’s intent, and as such they will be reprinting the first volume with the corrections made, and make sure to stick to author intent from now on with a group of translators.
You can feel the seethe emanating from that statement. They're not truly sorry, they're just mad they got caught by the author and are getting tard-wrangled.

Was it the company themselves that were behind the idea, or was it that one translator who pitched a fit on Twitter and SS is just angry the idiot pitched a fit on Twitter?

She has one of the dumbest takes on anime twitter I swear. Plus, If you played Persona 4 and know what's the deal with Naoto then yeah... she's the localization coordinator of p3 and p4g on Xbox.

Isn't this the same bitch who put in "Big Brudder" in the Higurashi subs?

EDIT: Yes, the very same bitch.

Holy shit, I didn't know about this. We need to bring fansubs back. Now I see that she also translated Interspecies Reviewers but there was this whole deal with Funimation dropping the project after few episodes, because it was ''too inappropriate for them'' or something.

Someone finished the subs and the style was consistent throughout, so I'm assuming she did the entire series. I'm just shocked she even took up that job to begin with, she seems like someone who would get a conniption fit over big tiddies.

This woman is delusional. Like the fact that people still misinterpret Kanji and Naoto's arcs in Persona 4 as LGBT+ acceptance stories instead of struggling with gender roles and sexism in the workplace is astounding.

Also who the fuck says that a series is successful because of a translation? That's just inflating your own importance since while translation is important, acting like a translation is a major reason for success is utterly dumb (unless it's an actual improvement on something like good quality translations of manga that previously had shit translations)

Continuing on my watch-through of Seven Deadly Sins, I think I can see why it is people rated Imperial Wrath of the Gods so low compared to the previous seasons. It's not because it changed to DEEN, an equally-trash studio, no. It's scored so low because Netflix doesn't have the uncensored version--which doesn't even exist. The weebs are just pissed that they censored the blood and tits. :story:
7DS anime turns to shit post-S2. As per fans 7DS as a story turns to shit after a while too, to the point some people wished it ended sooner. Also it looks like the mangaka is tracing from Dragon Ball due to how similar the artstyle becomes.

I wanna say "at least there's an apology", but you can tell how seethe-filled this is just by reading it once. Also, it shouldn't have happened to begin with.

Both, Seven Seas has a history of being the Funimation of manga.

This cunt never had a single good take since the big brudder Higurashi bullshit, it almost deserves it's own thread, but that's what Varis Hangout is for.

It's funny too when you realise the amount of ecchi they translated before, & their own company had a reputation for hiring nonces & having a Harvey Weinstein of it's own (aka Harvey Weebstein).

Something something, "virtue-signal wherever you can".

Kanji and Naoto in particular are signs that the average American weaboo might be legitimately retarded. And probably more racist than my dear old granddad was. But, in that coddly, lefty way instead of the fun way. They literally turn to the camera and explain what their arcs were about. "I'm not gay, I thought people would just call me a fag if they found out I had an un-masculine hobby" and "I'm not trans, I just thought that being a woman would prevent me from being taken seriously as a detective." Oftentimes followed up with the usual retort of "Those dumb, ignorant Japs just don't realize they actually wrote a gay/trans character!"

It's no wonder that a lot of Japanese creatives prefer to stick to their own side of the internet instead of dealing with that. Since, every time they do, it just leads to weirdos getting blown away by the fact that a different country with a different culture might have different ideas than America.

Bitches be like: ''clothes have no gender <3''
and then they portray every guy who wears dress as a trans and every girl who dresses masculine. Offtop but why do even trans people cut off their tits or dick when gender is apparently just a social construct?

That sounds like a good keikaku.

I honestly think the bridge is burnt on fansubbers coming back and doing this shit for free, if there were a group of weebs who just wanted to translate anime accurately and weren't politically motivated in one way or the other then I'd totally give them money to do it though. I'd also love for subs to actually be creative again too like how the One Piece subbers used to make the text move and give a cool font to special moves but apparently there's a lot of gay retards who think that was bad now and shit on old fansub groups when the American anime industry wouldn't have made it anywhere without them.

Finished with the GATE anime. Thought it was pretty good even though it wasted to much time with the MCs fantasy gang instead of focusing more on the JSDF. I am not that interested in the manga but I like it's accurate portrayal of j*urnalists.

so i have been watching mob psycho and i like it (late i know). should i read the web comic? is it different from the anime like one punch man?
Aside from not being finished yet, the anime is pretty much a straight upgrade since little if anything gets changed and the animation is amazing. Unless you prefer reading manga in general, it’s sufficient to just watch the anime.
