I read the one-shot & while its not fully Jahy-sama, the premise is somewhat similar.

Edit: I read till the latest translated chapter, which is 9, but technically 14 chapters if you count the Omakes, as of now, it's fairly fun & cute. There is a massive scanlation consistency issues, many such cases, but goddamn it's always sad.

The translation has been going since 1st July of 2021, it was done by a scanlation group called SVQ Scans. They had a fairly consistent schedule till 30th January of 2022 when the translated 8th chapter was released, then they just stopped.

Chapter 8.5, the Omake for CH.8, was translated by a user name starg09 who translated it from a DeepL base, the came out on June 13th. This manga was weekly, until it went bi-weekly due to mangaka running out of ideas (he admits this on the first Omake chapter), but as per starg09, it gets a chapter every other week with a 3 page Omake on the off-weeks. As of 13th June 2022, there's been 43 chapters released with a 3 page omake for most chapters. It's been a month since than so I won't be surprised if there's around 50 chapters, or more, counting the Omakes.

The last chapter & it's omake came out 4 days ago from now, by a different guy named kristopoh. As per him, the redraws are easy for him to do, but he's a beginner so translation takes a lot of time, so it might take an estimated 2 weeks for him per chapter.

TL;DR: No wonder it got an animation, it seems to be a fairly well doing manga on Jump Plus. It seems to be a fun manga which is the closest thing you can find to Jahy-sama type manga. But if anyone wants to read it & be up-to-date, it's impossible unless you know Japanese & find the raws.

Yeah, kinda seems like a lot of people in this thread are willing to bend over backwards and stretch their morals quite a bit to excuse the pedophilia of this one man in particular just because they liked his work. Seems a bit hypocritical if you ask me.

Or maybe their conviction was always this flimsy and it’s only now that we’re seeing it. Either way it’s really sad and gross.

Nah it's just the baseline expectation of any mangaka, it's russian roulette liking any weebshit due to this issue.

plus this guy is dead so we don't have to worry funding his loli lust, we're just letting the assistants eat slightly better ramen now.

I actually took a break from all anime when that giganto shit came out, but I eventually just wanted to see the rest of berserk and had to make peace with the whole degenerate country to do so

There is a level of irony to this and have you seen the kind of manga Berserk is? There is literal horse rape and baby eating at one point but the dark themes are built into the story and a central to Berserk’s identity. Just because an author writes dark content doesn’t reflect their actual personality (See Junji Ito) Perhaps he did have some skeletons in the closet but yeah like @SteelPlatedHeart said as long as he hasn’t actually done anything truly awful I don’t care if its simply art.

Personally, I don't really care about some drawings the author did or what he was into. I read Berserk the same way I read Made in Abyss, the same way I'd read, I don't know, Nagatoro or Orc Eroica. Those artists did loli and guro too.

All this moral floundering is dumb.

It's very straightforward as an adaptation. But since the final season is coming soon, you can decide if you want to read the webcomic or just wait till anime.

No it's not, because now I know exactly where Miura is coming from in everything he does.

He defended lolis and called it an outlet.
Used facetious language in said comic such as "very serious" when addressing people's concerns.
Made a comic of a lolicon pissing in a guy's mouth.
Could not divorce his pedophilia from his work.

If this were some Western author, dead or not, he'd be cancelled in a heartbeat. The people who laugh about Donovan are just pedophiles who use bullshit reasoning like "sardonic laughter" and "coping mechanism" as an excuse.

Continuing on my watch-through of Seven Deadly Sins, I think I can see why it is people rated Imperial Wrath of the Gods so low compared to the previous seasons. It's not because it changed to DEEN, an equally-trash studio, no. It's scored so low because Netflix doesn't have the uncensored version--which doesn't even exist. The weebs are just pissed that they censored the blood and tits. :story:
 
Seven Seas put out a statement regarding that manga where a translator made a character trans when they were not in the original book.

Essentially, they recognize it’s a sensitive issue, but the translation put out did not fit that of the author’s intent, and as such they will be reprinting the first volume with the corrections made, and make sure to stick to author intent from now on with a group of translators.
