Ended up being the duelist to finally finish Yu-Gi-Oh

Yu-Gi-Oh was a massive part of my childhood. I still collect cards whenever I have a spare dollar. I don't know what any of the fangled pendulum/link shit is as I grew up on 5Ds, but I still liked the series. This is really sad news. He wasn't even that old.

The original Yu-Gi-Oh manga will always be one of my favorites. Especially early on. The games are inventive and Yugi goes to some dark levels to win. He was a good author who really knew how to ramp the stakes up and even make two dicks playing cards feel really intense. It's a tragedy.

Thinking of Pluto TV having that Yu-Gi-Oh channel, I wonder if they'll say something about this?

Speaking of which, did Takahashi ever comment on the 4Kids dub?
Only a few Japanese creators ever speak out about the dubs one way or the other. I know YoshiP (Of FFXIV) and Hideo Kojima have both said they like the English dubs more of their titles.

Given Takahashi's frustrations with censorship, I can't imagine he was super onboard with everything that the 4Kids dub did though.

Probably best to wait for the uncensored BD release though. So many black lines over the gore and even more censor bars over the nipples.
The uncensored version is up on Nyaa.
Dude’s head might explode if he ever sees Panty & Stocking.
Typical anitwitter/anituber clout chasing bullshit. He was caught liking loli stuff and deflected as usual saying it was a over a year ago. This guy is an idiot with he/they pronouns. A literal nigger faggot.

Anything else to share about that? All I know is when he drew original art for konami's card game he refused that localizers touched it which is why Americans didn't get all of them.

I know he wasn't happy with the edited (Without his express consent) card art he drew for sure. Dark Magician Girl and her variants were particular point of contention. So, I'm sure if he even heard about a handful of the 4kids edits that he'd be seething just a bit.

I can see that, though it's possible he might've come to shrug it off later in life the more fans got into his series through the 4KIDS dub, which is so iconic now and gets lovingly memed on and referenced. Even if the censorship left a bad taste in his mouth, he may have still got to hear the voicework of the dub and appreciated their hard work. Eric Stuart may not be the best source for anything, but his role as Kaiba is so fucking majestic that I wouldn't be surprised if Takahashi liked it.

Now did he ever say anything about the abridged series?

Thanks for the memories, Takahashi. You truly were an inspiration.

Yudetamago was enthusiastic about the 4Kids dub of Kinnikuman Nisei. Don't know if they ever commented on the quality, but they were excited to have their series get significant exposure overseas and talked about wanting a Hollywood movie.

That just leads to further loopholes and honestly a fun storyline where some guy with a Multiple Personality disorder survives the attempts because he triggers a different personality whenever Light tries to kill him.

That'd honestly be fun if you had L using the schizo as bait by posting the guy on image boards and local news stations into baiting Kira.
They're called headmates, you bigot.

More seriously, do you think it would kill each different personality until the guy was sane?

Saw this uploaded, an attempt at upscaling the 1980s one-shot anime Dragon's Heaven. I.E. the one with the obviously Moebius inspired art. It starts off with a live-action intro featuring human-sized models of the mechs. The art-style and designs distinguish what was another one-off Eighties OVA with a thin excuse for a story and characters apart from a lot of the others.

To be fair, the Ultimate Muscle dub is pretty lax on the censorship compared to a lot of 4kids dubs. Sure, there's still some stuff that's been changed, but they went a bit easy on Kinnikuman than some of the other shows they hacked up. I'll never not be surprised at how many of the characters names stayed intact. It's a fun show though. I know the Japanese aren't as cool with Nisei, but I was glad it made an odd splash in America at least.
