Mahou Shoujo Site at least gave us that crying girl meme. I caught the anime and it was enjoyable in the same way an exploitation film can be. How bad was Magical Girl Apocalypse? All I remember about that series is the cover art with creepy looking girls that have no eyes.

Ah so that's where the "stop saying dumbass things, you're not even making sense meme" came from. MGA was really bad, like REALLY bad. I wasted a whole day reading it (my completionism attitude fucked me over), & I only did so cause Madoka Magica was actually kinda good. Like, it's plain bad, it's unironically too wdgy at times & the story just dies midway. Also, all characters are unlikeable & the ones you do like either die or lose.

Well, I guess it's something. Nothing like the days when it had hundreds of episodes, even if the earlier stuff was like 12 minute ditties.
Most ongoing anime usually get ordered in 1 or 2 cour batches and go from there, they don't really do 200 episode anime series anymore unless its like Pokemon or some shit like One Piece. Also this version is apparently going to be closer to the manga, which is a shame because the best episodes from the original anime were the filler ones.

Yep, those days are long over.

Anyone got a good post apocalyptic manga? Been feeling the itch for some mad max goodness.
Desert Punk, maybe?

My favourite post-apocalyptic manga is Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou/Yokohama Shopping Log but that one's nothing like Mad Max.

If the Urusei Yatsura remake sticks to the manga, it's probably going to have far less of Megane (possibly Mamoru Oshii's favourite Urusei Yatsura character to write for), which is a huge shame since he's one of the funniest characters in the original TV series.

I'm still cautiously optimistic that the Urusei Yatsura remake won't be another Sailor Moon Crystal, which I understand went off the rails and stopped being a more-faithful adaptation of the manga long after I stopped watching (which was very early).

Fist of the North Star, Violence Jack, Sand Land and I Am A Hero are all pretty enjoyable reads. First three especially if you want that Mad Max vibe. There's another one I like, but it's kind of a mega spoiler for the plot to even reveal that part.

How about 7 Seeds? That's also pretty entertaining as far as post apocalyptic goes.

Wow. The season "finale" of Shield Hero was just a big ol' waste of 22 minutes. It wasn't a full-on clip show, but it was still a total nothingburger.

I haven't read that one. I'll definitely check it out.

why did the school girls in my golf anime just kiss each other?
cant we have nice stuff without all this perv shit?

I watched the first episode of Birdie Wing when it came out, I have no idea how people are surprised. From the start, I'm pretty sure golf players usually dress up like that. I'm just sad it wasn't "Gundam, but golf".

Anyway, there's Ao Ashi if you wanted a played straight sports show.

Without entering spoiler territory, why is it people hate the second half of The Seven Deadly Sins so much? My personal guess is it's because DEEN took over from A-1 Pictures, but A-1 is just as much of a garbage studio as DEEN, so I don't think animation quality is going to suffer between seasons outside of a change in art directors. But anime-watchers only care about how an anime looks, so it's possible that's why the later seasons get rated so low.

Anyhoo am just curious. I don't think the show is all that special from other shounen battle anime, but it moves fast and it's entertaining enough for me to shrug off the fast pacing. I feel like it might be poking fun of a lot of shounen tropes, though, almost tongue-in-cheek, and I hope that doesn't get stale as it goes on.

Oh, and Diane best girl.
