Seven Seas censors the word "性奴隷" from "Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu".

Edit: I found out some more things:

1: This is not the only thing they censored.

Sauce:

2: As per this tweet, & this one almost hit me personally, One of the more recent Monster Musume localization actually censored the art, which they didn't do before. It was the monster girl milk farm chapter. They showed tits being milked by hand but made the milking machine cups opaque instead of clear.

So I was looking forward to the chat Saitama was going to have with Garo in One Punch Man, set up in the previous chapter. I check out the latest instalment that released on Wednesday, and it's - the last chapter, but significantly rewritten to go in a completely different direction?

I'm confused. I don't think I've seen this before. Is there a story behind this story?

Apparently, the rewrite puts it more in line with the webcomic. Murata has done redraws before, but this one is pretty significant as you can already tell.

I think it's because this was a very important moment in the webcomic. A lot of things have been retconned, changed or switched up in the manga before, to the point where the webcomic is treated like a rough draft. This is the first time when people complained so much that Murata did a 180.

Could anyone be kind enough to lend me their autism to help me in remembering what ever this anime was? Many years ago I'd wake up to it on Adult Swim at 3AM and wanted to remember what it was about now that I'm a boomer.

I recall some random scenes of a kid (or guy?) with a bent or dented metal baseball bat that went around whacking seemingly random people in the head with it for no apparent reason, he did it out of the blue usually without the victims noticing if memory serves me right. And I don't think it was the main plot of the anime but more of a side plot.

I think he may of also been using roller blades while doing it, at least on one occasion. The time frame this was playing on Adult Swim is very roughly the mid 2000's give or take, maybe late 2000's.

Sounds like Paranoia Agent. A great show with a great opening.

Yeah I noticed some of these translations too. What's the point of having weird dialogue if you're not going to translate it properly for the english release? That's one of the reasons I like anime and manga is the batshit and disturbing shit people say, it's fucking hilarious. "Why would say that?". I'm confused though since I know they used the term "Sex Slave" for sure in another situation. Maybe it's because a character was saying they wanted one explicitly was too much and they would have had to increase the age rating on the manga (Which honestly I kind of already thought it was too mature for just teenagers, maybe older teens or adults honestly, especially the shit the artist draws and posts on their twitter).

I noticed this with Call of the Night as well, as I think some of the dirty jokes were also changed up a bit to be less openly vulgar. Japanese equivalent of "Slut" is often changed to some other term, probably because of how obviously liberal Seven Seas is and even though they're fine translating fucked up raunchy shit they're not okay with people saying "Slut".

Do these companies not know that a majority of these people discovered the manga on the internet, and they probably read the almost always better fan translation?

If someone is going to be disturbed by most manga in the first place, which is totally fine, there's no point in censoring it to appeal to as many people as possible. Most normal people don't want any part of this stuff, so you might as well be true to it's actual fans.

Just got done rewatching AnoHana. Watched it when it first came out and remember feeling the feels, but figured the rewatch wouldn't be as bad. I was wrong.

Kaguya's latest ep was amazing, season finale is going to be a double-length episode, I'm fuckin hyped. Also, they put the insert song from KokuRadio into the new ep. I instantly recognized it, awesome as hell.

new gundam series is written by the same guy that did devilman crybaby
My condolences. I tried watching that and fell asleep 5 minutes into episode 2.

You could have said "Code Geass" and that would have been enough.
I don't even want to touch this (as a benchmark for my taste, I loved AoT).

Stop buying "official releases" and learn Japanese.

(This is what I did 25 years ago except with English, and you fuckers have gone and betrayed me. YOUR TURN NOW)

: has always been disgusted by the Quarter Pounder with cheese but is trying to build an empire: "I have always enjoyed the Quarter Pounder with cheese."
