Read the entire Akira manga over the weekend. It's alright, though could definitely be shorter. It doesn't help that 95% of the plot is characters searching for other characters.

Does jobless reincarnation get better as it goes? Im On episode 7 but I feel like im losing interest. Feels kinda slow in my opinion
you've just reached the end of what is arguably the worst arc in the entire story. I guess you could make a point that the ED arc that will kick off the next season is a bit hit or miss but the majority of the story that takes place when the plot gets moving is pure kino.

Finished watching Gundam Build Fighters Try and man it was way better than the first series.
I legitimately don't understand this opinion. Try is just an even more generic battle shounen than Fighters where every fight is won by who uses their super-move first (and in Sekai's case, who shouts the loudest) until the final battle against wilfrid and his mary sue of a sister, whereas in fighters there's constantly different gimmicks being used up until the RG system gets introduced.

It was cool seeing Domon Kasshu at the end of the series being Sekai's master but the fact that almost every single member of the Try cast is one-note and has zero depth compared to the original just made it painful to sit through every week; Sekai was always going to shout, Fumina was always going to TRY real hard, the forgettable blue-haired dude was always going to panic over the tiniest thing, nothing ever changed and there was no growth at all.

Some of he mobile suits looked cool and the gimmicks were neat, I guess, and at least they had the decency not to ruin all of the old character cast by associating them with this trash, but that doesn't stop the show from being bad. Also, attacking during a gattai is indefensible. Fumina should have been shot by Ramba Ral there and then for being a gigantic cunt.

OH SHIT NIGGA! ITS BEEN OVER 15 YEARS BUT BISCUT HAMMER IS FINALLY GETTING AN ANIME!

Gonna be bedridden for a week so I think it's time to give Mushoku Tensei a try and be disappointed at how inoffensive it is despite the usual suspects talking about it like it's literal child porn mixed with nazi propaganda because that's what always happens. Does anybody here know or care about this show? I usually skip controversial anime because outside of the controversy, there's usually nothing good or special about them but with how hysterical some of the MAL reviews I read were, I'm kind of interested.

I want to get excited for this because it's my favorite manga but Shaman King is also one of my favorite manga and it got possibly the worst adaptation I've ever seen.

the usual suspects kept whining about how rise of the shield hero promoted violence against women etc.

because a false rape allegation ruined the protagonists life for a bit.

Finally bossed Golden Kamuy up to its current point. Loving it, even if it randomly spins off into food-porn.

Also, I keep hearing Man With a Mission - Winding Road, or as it should be called.

probably the best shonen manga in awhile, honestly.

I loved the one off arcs with the random criminals- more manga need to have things like this. A plot driven anime can be cool, but plot driven with an episodic element (ie, collecting skins, inuyashas collection the shikon jewel shards) is really underrated

As far as this thread goes, I'm probably the biggest shill by a country mile. Normally I'd tell you to go to the original source material but the adaptation is so good that you can literally just watch the anime and not have to read the WN or LN unless you want more content.

It's up to you if you like it or not, but in terms of how faithful the adaptation is while retaining OVA quality I've honestly never seen anything quite like it.

One thing no one can reasonably deny is that the show is gorgeous, with amazing animation of the sort you'd normally expect from a theatrical release for the big scenes. The visual design is fantastic in both senses of the word, and the music is good as well.

The writing is a surprisingly adept execution of what would normally be some rather cringe material. The MC is a 30-something otaku NEET loser whose consciousness (and fetishes) are transferred intact to an newborn, and the sexuality part is somewhat uncomfortably front-and-center in the early parts of the series (it doesn't fully go away, but does tone it down). But it's honestly probably close to what would actually happen if that situation were to occur, and the MC growing up about that sort of thing is part of his character development. The story, and even the character himself, admit that he's not behaving properly.

The other characters have their own motivations and lives that don't revolve solely around the MC, and can have good traits and bad traits mixed up in a very human way. While the MC is unusually strong at magic he's not king of the heap by a long shot so he has to actually struggle through ordinary things and get occasionally wrecked instead of going from effortless victory to effortless victory.

It's a series that predates a lot of the more formulaic isekai plots, so while you might see some reflections of tropes (most often because later series were using MT as inspiration), it still feels fresh in comparison.

Director is listed as Nobuaki Nakanishi and some people on /a/ are saying the studio is gonna be Nippon Animation.
I wouldn't say there complete nobodies but it's been a long time since either have been in the spotlight.

I personally really liked it but I generally like isekai. The animation is great and the ost too.

The world building is cool, but if you want more if that best to read the ln afterwards since anime adaptions always cut it out. Imo its not as much of an epic as it is an adventure sol of a particularly unique life.

Yeah, I'm almost finished season 1 of Mushoku Tensei and I like it. As I though, I've encountered nothing very offensive at all. I heard all this talk about how there's a bunch of rape and the show treats it like a joke and attempts to "normalize it" but I've seen none of that and I'm on episode 9 currently. I think rape was mentioned in dialogue like a single time and it was made clear that the dad who did it is a scumfuck and the only reason the MC still deals with him is because he's strong. The only thing I could seriously do without is the MC creeping on that redheaded loli, dude was pretty innocent and not creepy towards little girls until she showed up but even then, not that bad, people were talking like this was Kodomo No Jikan x10, I hated the bedroom scene but I've seen far worse. I really do not care for Isekai as a genre but this is by far one of the better ones I've seen.

Looking at the names involved, I'm not impressed with their showings. As worried as I am about the Chainsaw Man anime, I at least have quite a bit of hope in a lot of the names involved who I know have done really good shit before but with this, I can really just hope that it ends up being their best work thus far. I'd honestly feel a lot better knowing an episode count, I read that this anime will cover the entire thing and though the source material is really strong, they can still make it look like shit if not treated with care. Also, this is a pipedream but I hope they can either use some of The Pillows' music that was already used in FLCL or get The Pillows to do some original songs for this adaptation since there's a few clear references to them.

He calms down with his behavior and realizes what he's doing is wrong. Remember, he was bullied to the point of becoming a gross, shut-in recluse. His social skills and interactions are obviously incorrect and wrong, but he gets better in that regard. One slight downside is that there's lots of backstory that isn't covered and characters like Elinalise the elf are a big shock without knowing the reasons as to why she acts the way she does. I wonder if you'll like how this season ends, especially since it has to do with Eris. The side-story OVA comes out in March, so hopefully we'll get a season 2 announcement as well. I also recommend Ascendance of a Bookworm, if you haven't seen it. Definitely different in tone and story, but quite enjoyable.

Like some others in this thread I'm also quite concerned with this, the script writer is apparently the same guy who wrote the adaptation for Infinite Dendogram, an isekai anime.

I'd keep my expectations on the lower end but if by some miracle it's actually alright then maybe isekai writers are good for something after all.

Mushoku Tensai is probably in my top 5 anime of the last 10 years. It's an isakei, but it gets the strong parts of the genre right and doesn't fall into any of the traps that the rest of the genre revels in. It's a more or less normal fantasy world, main character isn't blessed by anyone and actually has to put work into getting strong instead of abusing MMO mechanics or some shit. Main character grows as a character and starts to care about the people around him in spite of being an eternally bullied NEET faggot autist in his past life. The way the power levels grow out nowhere to make main character have to do more growing at the end of season 1 and the middle of season 2 is even handled pretty well.

Golden Kamuy is great and more people should watch it, obligatory post of the best OP/ED in the series and one of my favorite end themes for any anime:

Is this season awful for anyone else? I got Demon Slayer pt2, Rust Eater Bisco, How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom, and The Genius Prince's Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt every week and that's it.

Rust Eater Bisco I'm kind of 6/10 on but the offbeat setting gives me Dorohedoro vibes so it has my attention. Doctor main character is chronically boring though, and Mushroom Terrorist main character is generic shonen protagonist to the max.

Realist Hero is alright but it's eternally one stupid plot from getting dropped because it's an isekai where MCs power is paying attention in high school civics classes while the people in the world hold an idiot ball to make him look better.

Raising a Nation Out of Debt is basically the same anime as Realist Hero without being an isekai but his setting seems to be holding a much smaller idiot ball so it might work better. Hard to say 2 episodes in.
