A Shenmue anime in 2022?

Here I am still disappointed that Shenmue III did not
live up to its potential.
 
The Shenmue anime better have the "Rush to the Harbor" music (which is actually an instrumental version of "Scarlatto" from another Yu Suzuki game from the same era, Ferrari F355 Challenge).


"Scarlatto" remains the most awesomely cheesy song I've ever heard in a videogame.

It is an extended ending, showing what happens after that.

MC is on the city with his gun until he found a giant being with a brain, he founds tracks about beings who wanders the city, then he sees the giant one breeding smaller ones, he decided to keep there shooting them as they came out.

After killing lots and on the snow, a fucking human baby comes out and walks toward him.

He raises the girl as his daughter, naming her Hiiro (HERO), and in the summer they are thinking of going to other place where there may be humans.

You can interpret it in many ways

For example my own interpretation is that the monsters are aliens that came here and used the zombies to wipe the planet population for them to live here, these beings are early setters, and the baby can be one way of being able to survive since the monsters watched him kill thousands of them after they came out of the giant being and thinks they are stronger species that can live here.

Or maybe the baby is a way to wipe out the other populations when they reach hokkaido.

It creates more doubts than give answers for sure, but it was better than the earlier version for sure.

story of the games is only like half or even a third of the whole thing (originally it was like 6 or 8 games), that's why shenmue 3 was kind of a big thing since fans hoped at least to get some fucking conclusion for once or at least go in that direction...

after 3 chances of a fourth game or even the rest are probably worse than after 2, so if they can at least finish it in anime form lol as if, get ready for 1 season ending with a cliffhanger I'd be all up for it...

From what I read they actually flew out the original music team to New York to be involved with the localization. I went to the "preview" night and saw it in IMAX with the original Japanese/English subtitles and it was pretty spine tingling. I listened to bits and pieces of the English dub soundtrack after and the VA is near on point with the Japanese VA. Though I think I've already listened to the original songs in Japanese so much beforehand (since it was originally released in Japan last June) that I don't think I'll ever get used to the English versions.

You want me to watch Belle, don't you? Reminding me of these other movies isn't helping in keeping my interest.

Even from the trailers, I personally got the feeling it was just going to be Summer Wars 2021 meets Beauty and the Beast so I guess wasn't really...that...surprised at the references? But yeah, I found the bland characters and lack of character development besides Suzu I guess, the climax, and the ending where none of the plotlines are really wrapped up and the movie just kind of...ends (What happened to the Dragon and his brother afterwards?) The entire theater had a good laugh at the Suzu/Hiro "red herring" interviews and the Ruka/Kamishin awkward confession scene, though.

Better than Mirai, but that's not saying much.

That's what you get for hiring a former Disney guy as character designer. Gotta get that Oscar bait in for the boomer voters that only vote for Disney/Pixar.
 
Just finished Gundam Unicorn. That sure was a whole lot of glorious mech porn and characters I don't care about (not counting Merida Cruz she's the best). OVA 4 really killed the MC for me. He went from serviceable to complete shit real fast. Other than that though it's a lot of fun and hits the typical Gundam story beats pretty well. I'll have to watch Narrative soon.

Also finished Chio Chan's School Road recently. I think someone here recommended it. I like how mean and conniving she and her friend are, and I really enjoy her gamer rage. The part where some hacker called her a cunt after a game and she had to google what that meant in Japanese was priceless.

I knew we weren't getting a definitive explanation but I actually liked the original ending. It felt thematically appropriate to me, at least for Hideo's journey. But this is still way better.

When he yelled at the thing for creating human life after destroying the species, I wondered if it wasn't some kind of apology from it. Maybe from the author too? There were footprints from the larger monsters, and they were nearby enough that they could have come after him but didn't. Though maybe killing off the straggler humans just needs different tactics.
 
Does jobless reincarnation get better as it goes? Im On episode 7 but I feel like im losing interest. Feels kinda slow in my opinion

Agreed, I love the show but the animation is a bit crap.

Opposite to Akebi's Sailor Uniform, which I watched on someone here's recommendation, absolutely gorgeous animation, but the show isn't as interesting as Komi-san.

Miss Kuroitsu is also brilliant and I love it already.

Don't watch Narrative, it's every bad part about Unicorn in one "movie" (it's like 80 minutes) and the animation is somehow worse. There's a reason nobody talks about it or cared about it aside from the meme pose. Come to think of it, that's still the only thing I remember about that movie, is that stupid pose in the promo art. Whoever at Sunrise thought of a pose so goofy for an allegedly serious movie had to be trying to make it a meme.

Finished watching Gundam Build Fighters Try and man it was way better than the first series.

Now I have finished all Build series, just missing some OVAS and I can't wait for the next one.
