Even at 80 for an Asian, The man knows he doesn't have much time left and doesn't want to leave the mortal veil with the last image of anime on his mind being; dragon ball z super, girls UND panzer, And my hero academia, plus all the botched adaptations of anime made by the west.
no offense to anyone who likes the animes I mention btw, I just have a feeling old man Miyazaki doesn't.
Good, The Wind Rises seemed like a bit of an odd note for him to end on, hopefully his next film is something more fantasy based ala Castle in The Sky or Spirited Away, the world needs another one like that.
While shipping wars are both retarded and gay, I'd be lying if I said I don't feel who ends up with who is important after several hours of following the characters.
The only example of shipping result I can think of that actually angered me (besides the generic "no one ends with anyone LOL") was The World God Only Knows that was either monumentally bad storytelling or a gotcha by the writer.
Personally I think NaruSaku is better than NaruHina since NaruSaku had way more chemestry, but NaruSasu is obviously the true end game lmao.
When it comes to naruto shipping I know these things might be a bit dumb but oh well:
- Sasuke and Sakura were confirmed they were eventually going to get together in an interview with Kishimoto
- When making THE LAST Kishimoto had to hire a shojo writer onboard to help write the romance between Naruto and Hinata since Kishimoto admitted he had no idea how to write romance.
- Apparently now in some circles NaruSasu is "incestuous and bad" because of the WHOLE Indra Ashura reincarnation shit, which SOMEHOW makes Naruto and Sasuke brothers in some shape or form to these idiots which = incest, even thought it's really not incest at all.
- Not a shipping tangent per say, but I remember somewhere someone said Team Kurenai 8 ( Kiba, Hinata, and Shino) was really popular with the animators so that's why we have the Hinata bike ED and why Team 8 shows up in a ton of anime filler as well. Hell they even made a anime joke about Sakura getting pissed over the Hinata bike ED tbh.
From what I read of the series (literally only till like sasuke left) and just clips I could never stand Sakura with her behaviour. Reminds me of all those shitty Tsundere that physically abuse other characters rather than actually talk things through or clear up misunderstandings, it's tiresome. Hinata I liked from the start as it felt she had more in common with Naruto and treated him decently from the start unlike a lot that saw him as a stupid troublemaker or as something to fear. Found she was also a more interesting character to boot if I'm comparing her to how boring (and useless) Sakura was most of the time.
I don't know, I'm very biased against shitty Tsundere characters and can't stand many popular shows that feature them because I don't find their behaviour endearing in the least. Only time it kind of works is when it's male tsundere since they're less likely to use the physical violence crutch.

Please stop posting these astronomically bad takes. First it was about 13 Sentinels and now this, if I didn't know any better I'd assume you actually took bait posts on /a/ and /v/ seriously.
Read thru 6 chapters so far. I’m impressed by it so far. I enjoy the main character, the brutality and the criminals condemned to death battle royal that is starting to unfold.

How is having, in a series that's focused entirely on romance, the "winner" be a side character that didn't even appear the last 50 chapters and was a passing face for 95% of it good writing?
The ending sucked regardless but it's on the level it might as well be some rando.

Hell’s Paradise is pretty good. The best part is definitely the characters, despite the main cast being fairly large (around 10-ish characters) I found all of them genuinely likable, which is a rarity for me. The art is also really good, with some absolutely insane monster designs and great body horror. The official translation also isn’t half bad, surprisingly enough.
I think the story is at its best in the first half, when the mystery is still unfolding and you’re exploring this weird creepy island through the eyes of the characters. It reminded me of all the good parts of a classic SCP exploration log, with the characters commenting on all the stuff that doesn’t make any sense and trying to piece together the mystery of how the island came to be. The second half is a bit more generic battle shonen, but I think it’s a satisfying payoff that’s still well above the average manga ending. The only thing I didn’t like was what I can only describe as arbitrarily-applied Pokémon type effectiveness being used to justify how the main cast is able to defeat the immortal, infinitely-regenerating plant monsters.
It’s supposedly getting an anime adaptation some time in the future, which I really hope is good, because the atmosphere/environment is such a huge part of this manga. When I first read it, all I could think about was how delightfully creepy the island would look animated in color.
I started watching the Dorohedoro anime after finishing the manga and felt that the animation really does a lot to help sell the setting in a way that just doesn’t come across as well in a static, black-and-white medium. Hell’s Paradise has gone relatively under the radar but with a good adaptation I can easily see it blowing up retroactively.

100% agree with pretty much everything you said. Especially the part with how a good anime adaptation would cause it to explode in popularity. Cause literally the first thing I thought after finishing the first 6 chapters is, "how the hell does this not have an anime adaptation yet?" Especially after seeing the island and the monster designs.
It pretty much is, there's proof they didn't see the videos to review it, because some were banned in that same minute. 3 videos, even if watched just for 30 seconds, cannot be watched under a minute. Let alone 150 videos, which is around 3 years worth of effort & 1-2 days worth of non-stop watching, if not binging.
They definitely used an automated system, which is exactly why some drawing videos are also banned.
i'll be completely honest here. sakura is, as people have said a million times, a terribly written character, but all of her redeeming moments came in her interactions with naruto imo. like when she was forced to reflect on how much of a piece of shit she was to him and the times she genuinely believed in him (and even one time forced sasuke to realize he was being a bitch compared to naruto). and on the other side, aside from the aggressive bullshit she did reign his autism in now and then.
whereas all her interactions with sasuke she remained flat, littered with horrible decisions, and completely unlikable personality traits.
so i can see where you come from regarding narusaku. if more care was given to her character then i could see some interesting growth from it. but that's not the focus of the series.
kishimoto says he's shit at writing romance, but it could have saved a lot of character issues if he would stop looking at female characters as obligatory romance partners. but that's just how shonen is and always has been. i personally don't have a problem with any of the end game couples, there are worse things about the end parts of naruto's writing than irrelevant shit like ships. i find the kaguya shit to still be one of the most bullshit reveals and it invalidated so many important parts of the series. and any screetching from fangirls crying that naruto isn't getting his asshole rammed by sasuke was drowned out by my own despair from essentially feeling like i wasted time caring about this series for as long as i did just to be given such a disappointing payoff to the story.
but that's completely on me. i do know that kishimoto, like many manga authors, are at the mercy of editors and shit so it's not fair to place the blame on him. and at least from what i can tell they just wanted a way for naruto to be a cashcow, therefore it couldn't have a perfect ending. hence boruto, which i haven't touched because i am honestly just too scared to from all the shit i've heard.
