Anyway, looking forward to Season 4.
Season 4 and a movie too!
What's interesting is that there really is no reason for him to go back. According to the lore, Ainz world is a place that makes blade runner look like a kiddie park. His parents are dead too, so he's got nothing to return to.
Yeah, they basically go over this in the anime, where he says he has no family and he basically just works and plays the MMO anyway, so there's nothing really for him to go back to. And since its from his perspective in the story, the whole 'going back home' and figuring out 'who summoned and why' is basically irrelevant. Because Ainz does not care, the story is not occupied with it.

FMA author Hiromu Arakawa is starting a new battle shonen next month
View attachment 2706340
Series is called "yomi no tsugai" and looking for brief plot descriptions it seems to be about a boy and his imprisoned sister trying to find out a secret of a mysterious village.

I've seen a few people wonder if this will be another Kshimoto/samurai 8 case where "author who had a hugely popular series comes back and falls on their face" although I don't think it'll be as bad since I remember Silver spoon being fairly popular albeit not as big as FMA and iirc she has a series that's a comedic autobiography about her life growing up on a farm in Hokkaido which somehow sold over 3 million copies recently.
Since FMA was pretty consistently great and Silver Spoon was also very good even though it was a different genre, I'm gonna guess that Arakawa didn't just capture lighting in a bottle and is actually just a really talented writer. That being said, I think this one will be good, do well and attain an anime within 2 years.

I legit cannot think of a more depressing position to be in than Kishimoto's. He handed his series off to other people, tried something new, failed and ended up back where he started but not in full control of what was originally 100% his own. I bet he legit wants to kill off the entire new generation and just write about his own characters again.

Back then it was seen as "groundbreaking" and had decent music and action for its time (I might argue the original trailers looked better then High Guardian Spice but that's not exactly a high bar and its still close)
Also its not just normies, nips seem to like it as well. Iirc the series was dubbed in Japanese with a decent cast and the first few volumes of the series sold around 4-5k in blurays and I think there has been 3 short manga series as well as somehow being included in one of the blazblue games. Although I think interest in has died down over there.
It was also made by the late Monty Oum who was well known in that circle for his amazing fight scene choreography like with Dead Fantasy and did fight scenes for Red vs Blue from Season 7 - 10 so that alone gave it a decent boost right out the gate.

Who else is reading "The Whimsical Cursed Sword"?
I used to read it on the one scan aggregator website I use, but it stopped updating earlier this year...
Yesterday they updated it with 36 new chapters!!

The TL;DR of the story is that in a world of swords and magic which has entered somewhat into the Information/ Digital Age a pair of siblings find a speaking cursed sword.
From there starts the struggle of the older brother to not lose his mind to all the weird characters and situation he ends up in.
It has a pretty diverse cast.

idk if anyone else here has been reading Black Clover at all but every single chapter has been fucking amazing for a while now. I originally dropped this shit thinking it had no soul but I was completely wrong, it's written and drawn with an extreme passion for the entire battle shonen genre. It was really fumbling for a while and making a lot of writing choices I just thought were really stupid but I stayed along for the ride because it never got bad (except for 1 arc) or ceased being entertaining. I'm more happy than ever I stuck with it because the mangaka greatly improved on everything and the recent arcs have been pretty great. If you like Shonen then you should give it a try, if you haven't watched much other Shonen then it's a great gateway.

I certainly don't complain about the fanservice, but it kinda weirds me out. As you have to be very active to have that body type, and anime characters are usually not. But everyone still has a ripped body.
That guy’s a spy/secret agent of the fictional James Bond variety so it’s not surprising for him to be reasonably fit.

I do, I'm a sucker for swords and magic stuff,
Still can't believe how shitty the anime was, I think I stopped watching after episode two.
I'm still salty how they could ruin this moment

BTW does anyone know why so many shonen turned pretty dark around the same time?
Boku no hero academia.
Black Clover.
Jujutsu Kaisen.
Twin Star Exorcist.
The Blue Magic Exorcist.
All of them got darker and are in their own world threatening arc.

to be fair, jujutsu stopped being a standard heartwarming story since the past arc which was way before the whole mha/black clover dark stuff iirc
