First Berserk comes back, Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer gets an anime adaptation and now this.

Summer 2022 for anime is going off to a slightly tolerable start.

I'm hyped but I hope this anime is still good in both main languages. As much as the english VA's are detestable as people, the dub of Panty and Stocking was god tier, but I'd stick to sub if it gets cringe.

Spirit Circle?
Maybe. There's a scene where a .gif of the main couple meeting in every iteration and a scene where the his past lives console him about something. I don't think it's the same artstyle as Spirit Circle though.

There's something similar to that at the end of the manga. If its something other than Spirit Circle tell me, it sounds interesting.

What did they do to Vash? Trigun is one of my all time favorites and I hate how this looks so much.

that trigun trailer looks like dogshit.

and i'm not getting my hopes up for panty and stocking being all that great either. too soon to tell of course, but trigger has been kind of at a decline for me, not too significant but just enough that the latest stuff has been meh. i don't even remember anything about promare aside from jarring cgi and a gay kiss.

Why are they drastically rebooting a series that never even had a proper adaptation in the first place? They're trying to make it their own I guess but I wanted the Trigun Maximum manga to be adapted finally.

Imagine getting ahold of Trigun of all IPs and think it needs a new visual flair. And then you just make it look like everything else. Unappealing soft&clean fantasy Sci-Fi. And K-Pop hair. Oh well.

When I first heard they were doing more with Trigun, I admit curious about what they were planning to do with the series... yeah I'm not too fond of it, and if like ratio on the trailer is anything to go by, people aren't happy with it either.

The biggest problem is how they change Vaush's design, which is a good reason it doesn't work.

Vash worked so well because it gave him the appearance of a lone gunman, even when his goofy personality betrayed that, his long red coat, the leather bandage all over his body, epically on his left arm, while a lot more revealing, it also managed to be subtle yet give the impression there's more to it.
The new-look sacrificed a lot to be more "modern," and it's all for the worse, especially on the left arm, which is blatant about being mechanical, and his hair... oh, the hair.

Why is that such a big deal, you may ask, because Vash's original hairstyle was a gift from the most important person in his life, Rem.
Rem was the closest thing to a mother, and she was the one who not only gave Vash the hairstyle he would keep throughout his life but also the belief that all life is precious and deserves to live. She is the reason why Vash is the way he is, and it's also symbolic because, during the same time she was cutting Vash's hair, she also offers to cut Knives her, but he leaves and cuts it in his style. This symbolized Knives rejecting Rem's ideals of pacifism because he finds it illogical and worthless and would ultimately cause a wedge between him and Vash, resulting in them becoming enemies.

But in this new anime, they don't have those haircuts, which ends up sacrificing those crucial moments that make the characters who they are and what they'll become.

Right now, this anime is sacrificing the designs of the past to be more "modern." and if the results are anything to go by, they're already fucking it up.
God knows how they'll handle the story.

Can anyone tell me why despite the massive popularity of Panty and Stocking they teased a 2nd season then just did nothing with it for over 10 years?

Original was made by Gainex. Majority of people that made it left to form Trigger, Show was still owned by Gainex along with Gurren, so they couldn’t continue making it. The got the rights back to both last year.
