Okawari didn't really feel like a comedy. Season 1 was gut-bustingly funny, but I don't recall ever laughing at Okawari.

Well, yeah, I prefer the first season for the comedy and the god-tier Studio Daume character designs but I somehow didn't mind the more melancholy tone of the second season. It fit the winter mood of most of the episodes. Studio Asread was put in a weird situation where they had to start work on the second season before the first season of Minami-ke, animated by a different studio, had even started airing and for whatever reason they decided to write a lot of filler with a different tone from the manga that didn't entirely work as an adaptation but I still kind of appreciate it on its own merits.

@Trashfire Garbagefuck Oh, I didn't know there was a bonus episode. I watched the series on Netflix (:_(.

My thoughts exactly with Maka and Soul... but where exactly does the canon half ends?
The canon stuff ends on episode 38, and then you start the manga at chapter 33

You should check out Gurren Lagann Parallel Works too. They're a series of shorts set to music from the series and some of them are REALLY good.

New PV came out for the Urusei Yatsura remake and it looks better than I expected. I'm honestly suprised by how stacked the VA selection is for this show so far.
Hiroshi Kamiya - Ataru Moroboshi (Levi, Araragi, Choromatsu, Shinji Matou)
Sumire Uesaka - Lum (Nagatoro)
Maaya Uchida - Shinobu Miyake (Alluka, Rikka Takanashi)
Mamoru Miyano - Shūtarō Mendō (Ryuji Sakamoto, Hououin Kyouma, Chrollo Lucifer)
Wataru Takagi - Cherry (Okuyasu Nijimura, Eikichi Onizuka)
Miyuki Sawashiro - Sakura (Kanbaru Suruga, Fujiko Mine)

The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious (a.k.a. "My Recently Hired Maid is Suspicious") by Wakame Konbu, the creator of Jahy-sama, is getting an anime starting this July.

I had a feeling this manga was getting an anime but it's a little earlier than I expected because there's not yet been an arc that would be an obvious conclusion to the first season.

Twitter will be pissed with this anime. Maid grooming shota in a nutshell. There are a bunch of scanlated manga with the same plot.

depends if crunchyroll etc. will pick it up, anything not english is usually outside the twittertards radar.
even if, no one gave a shit about uzamaid or wataten either, any chimpout that happened for like nagatoro or interspecies reviewers was quickly over because most were laughing about it.

Not sure I will watch. But it looks really good, they adapted the hair color of Lum from the manga and Rumiko Illustrations really good, it always change colors. and you can see a bit it does.
I actually only watched the first movie, but I really loved the manga.

Also, Sakura is the best girl and beach episodes are god tier.

Shield Hero 2 is off to a pretty good start. It's a shame it took so long to come out, but I'm glad it did all the same.

Damn. That is a good cast. Sumire's had a good run of stuff lately. I loved her in Gundam: Code Fairy and Ultraman Trigger. It'll be weird to hear her go from Carmeara to Lum.

I wouldn't listen to Twitter, I've seen their shitty caricatures.
If it was a butler with a boy (I.E Black Butler), they won't say shit.
I'll take Japan's delicious dark skin girls over what the west makes.

I read this one whenever a chapter is released, which is very rare, BTW. I assure everyone that it's very wholesome & somewhat SoL type.

It looks good but where's the heart?

Choujin X just gets better and better. That last chapter... just... damn. The short omake chapters he adds to the volumes are gold too.

Looks so modern than both 80’s kids and current Generation Z can like and enjoy this. I’m optimistic that this will work, but I’ll have to wait and see how they react to Lum and Ataru together while the latter still tries to show love to Shinobu.

Funny enough, I thought of you when I found out about this news as well. It’s pretty funny how the maid looks less like a power hungry, emerald collecting Jahy, and more like a cute version of her just slightly teasing the little boy in question. Either way, I’m excited for this.

Also, the last chapter for Jahy-sama was heartbreaking. Jahy had to tell the truth that she did not become the owner of her landlady’s sister restaurant. Druj actually thought she owned the human world the same way she owned the Demon World. Yet when found out, she ran out on her in the restaurant owned by the sister in the pouring rain and Jahy messed up really bad because now she runs after her, while figuring out what to do next.

I wonder how Wakane will finish that story off.

I wouldn't be surprised if Maou-sama wordlessly convinces Druj that Jahy's changed for the better. Or maybe Saurva gets involved in trying to patch things up between Druj and Jahy, considering we still haven't really seen Saurva and Druj interact with each other and a chapter involving both of them is past due.

I was disappointed in the first 6 episodes of Shield Hero S2. The whole story arc with the Spirit Turtle felt like a side story that would have better fit as season 1.5. Episode 7 is finally getting the actual new season going.

When I first heard the news of a new Urusei Yatsura anime I genuinely had no idea why they were doing it, but I feel a whole lot better about it after seeing this PV. Instead of being a carbon copy of the manga or first series it looks like it's carving out its own unique aesthetic. It reminds me a lot of how the 2010s Enma-kun anime was with how it looked clearly modern, but preserved the spirit of the original series.

That was a fun show and a good modern take on the material, but the subtitles were really bad and boomer-ish with references to LL Cool J, Kiss and they even renamed one of the characters after the gay guy from Revenge of the Nerds.
