Mamo is basically Lupin at his apex - everything that's great about the character is in it. If you watch it dubbed, there are four dubs. I prefer the one with the TV series cast.
Yeah Tony Oliver as Lupin is probably one of the few actors I associate as much with an anime character as their Japanese voice same with Richard Epcar as Jigan, man they really hit gold with part 2's 2000's dub

The fact that the newest Lupin projects have all brought the old voices back serves to confirm what we already know - that they are the definitive English voices.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=yNaOFjyT9cYThis is still the worst looking adaptation I've ever seen, I always knew that the art style of something and animation added flavor to a series but I didn't realize exactly how much until Shaman King became one of the worst looking Shonen Battle shows I've ever seen in my life despite loving the manga.
I think it's the coloring that puts the nail in the coffin, it looks like the animators added a green shiny filter to everything and it makes it way uglier:

Just finished reading Volume 1 of this manga, and I highly recommend it: https://hiwamatanoboru.com/2021/09/06/seciton-chief-shima-kosaku-volume-1/

I can't believe manga aggregator sites haven't uploaded this piece yet.

Section Chief Shima Kо̄saku

It’s a manga known for its realistic depiction of life as a salaryman (which is sort of a slang term for a male office worker) working at a major Japanese company and its office culture and that sort of thing. It’s a slice of life drama about making one’s way in the corporate world and the emotions he experiences involved with that. It also has themes of management strategy, the main character’s relationships with women, mysteries, and office politics. Also all kinds of crazy weird shit happens.

This series is kind of the archetypical seinen manga. And it’s one of the series a lot of Japanese readers will think of immediately when thinking about manga for adults. The main character, Shima Kо̄saku, starts out at age 34. It’s a series well known for its realistic depiction of office life and about the things actually going on in Japan at the time.

As of now, the series is still on-going and the series breaks down into parts. They go something like this:
(Part 1) Section Chief (Kachō) Shima Kōsaku 1983–1992: 17 volumes
(Part 2) Division Chief (Buchō) Shima Kōsaku 1992–2002: 13 volumes
(Part 3) Managing Director (Torishimariyaku) Shima Kōsaku 2002–2005: 8 volumes
(Part 4) Executive Managing Director (Jōmu) Shima Kōsaku 2005–2006: 6 volumes
(Part 5) Senior Managing Director (Senmu) Shima Kōsaku 2006–2008: 5 volumes
(Part 6) President (Shachō) Shima Kōsaku 2008–2013: 16 volumes
(Part 7) Chairman (Kaichō) Shima Kōsaku 2013–2019: 13 volumes
(Part 8) Senior Advisor (Sōdan’yaku) Shima Kōsaku 2019–present: 4 volumes (Ongoing)

This just confirms for me what I already suspected: both adaptations of Shaman King are really terrible looking in their own questionable ways. I'll still take the 2001 adaptation over the 2021, but that's just for the watermelon eating lips.

Was reminded of an anime that was announced 3 years ago now that I'm kind of curious if is still a thing.

Back in 2018 it was announced that a indie game called "Too the Moon" would be getting an anime movie as a a co-production between Japan and China. I somewhat remember it causing a bit of a stir with some people thinking it would open the door for more indie games to get anime adaptations

But like I said this was 3 years ago and there's still nothing known about it, no release date, no studio, no producer, etc. I know sometimes anime movies can be in production for a long time (hell redline was in it for 10 years), But I'm wondering if there's anything too it like say the fact is China and Japan trying to work together or if the creator has shown lowcow behavior in the past.

I keep forgetting this was something that was happening(?), that everything's been radio silent about it is disappointing, but then I remember Cencoroll 2 went through that, too.

The chances of an Ib or The Witch's House adaptation just gets slimmer and slimmer by the day. I blame DEEN's shitty Ao Oni productions.

Just want to let you guys know, but on Tuesday, Kiss x Sis ended their manga serialization after 15 years. Of course, the hilarity about it was that it ended on the day that I was still studying in school, while just a couple of weeks ago I was actually reading the earlier chapters of the girls and their brother being invited to a campfire to talk about what it’s like to have sex with someone that’s closer to you than just family.

Either way, I remember years ago, many people forbade others to watch this thinking that it was disgusting to see two sisters to show love to their own brother (even when it was off the air for years). Now, though, I laugh at the fact that something like this existed in the first place since it motivates me to rewatch the first two seasons – the original and the OVA.

Either way, cheers to Bow Ditama for making a silly manga so enjoyable.

Just make sure you don’t have sisters that fall too much in love with you. I’m not sure how to help you on that one.

Nigga, that art style fits the story better than the art from the manga lol
I actually tried reading the manga from where the anime left off and dropped it because the tone just wasn't as freaky.
I think it's the coloring that puts the nail in the coffin, it looks like the animators added a green shiny filter to everything and it makes it way uglier:

I've hated it and said it looked like shit since the first trailer, you can tell just from the way the art looks that the animation is going to be garbo since shit like this never moves smoothly. The characters are completely expressionless too, 100% of the manga's personality has been sucked out of this adaptation and people are probably going to think Shaman King is just shit because of it when imo, it has some of the coolest concepts and character arcs in all of Shonen. Of course that's partially due to extreme bias on my end but I don't think if the same people who hate this anime read the manga first, they'd think it's bad.
