I finally finished Koi no Katachi after taking a year or two break from it (for some reason, I don't remember why). Started from the beginning again and it was a total fucking emotional roller coaster. It ended kind of weak in my opinion but man.
I rarely cry when I read a book, watch a movie, play a game, etc. This just hit me too hard though, fucking hell. It's hard to not relate to all of the characters by the end, even the ones that come across as horrible. Nishimiya's and Ishida's dreams made me fucking bawl though, that was just too good. I really wish Ishida manned the fuck up and told Nishimiya he loved her at the end though, fuck that walking through the door while holding hands cliched schlock. Author is better than that.

Testsugaku Letra is another manga that I also finished kind of recently that's kind of like Koi no Katachi (there's a very small connection in themes and friendship), but it's a much more positive story that I think is really good too. Didn't hit me as hard as Katachi, but it definitely is worth a read.

In anticipation of Zero Time Dilemma, I finally decided to watch Punch Line.

Coming from the author, I was not expecting that. I also didn't actually read the synopsis either. kek

Maybe they'll add it into the anime adaptation that's on the way.

I hope so, I really do. It's dumb as fuck to me because the author built it up their feelings for each other since fucking Chapter 30 or something and nothing ever comes of it.
That being said, I'm not sure I have much hope for the movie itself. I'm not sure if the story is going to be broken down, but if it's just one single movie I think it'll be mediocre at best.

It bugged me as well that there was never at least a kiss scene but I understood it from the perspective that you knew it was going to happen regardless and I guess all I wanted from it was closure.

As for the movie, yeah, it won't be the whole plot but it'll definitely be a good chunk of it. The trailer looked excellent because I'm not sure how certain things were going to be adapted but the fact that they kept the symbolic X's on everyone's faces gives me super high hopes for it. I hope that the movie does well enough for a TV series or something, because I burned through Silent Voice in like less than two days and I'd love to see it all brought to life.

Castle of Cagliostro, though :autism:: it isn't technically one of their films.

Mononoke is probably my favorite official one.

You won't miss much if you just want to watch it. Miyazaki basically put the Lupin cast into a Disney film. Its not bad at all, but its very different from everything else Lupin.

Continuity isn't much of an issue in Lupin. The direction is usually more interesting than the story.

He never used the exact word "moe", but he talked in one of his author's notes about why do cute girls always need to be sweet and adorable, they can be psychopaths just like others. Yukako herself was heavily inspired by Annie from Stephen King's Misery, one of his favorite movies of all time
