I‘m reading Tanaka-san Is Extremely Lazy (or something like that) and it‘s really, really funny with some good punchlines... but holy hell do I want to shake the main character constantly.

The official English title is Tanaka-kun is Always Listless.

I don't think it's so much that Tanaka is lazy, I think that he likely has a chronic medical condition such as anemia or possibly something like "Hashimoto's Thyroiditis" that he really needs to seek treatment for but it's one of those manga/anime universes where you never see parents and teachers are mostly absent (even though it largely takes place in high school), so there's no authority figure who is present enough in his life to tell him to seek medical attention immediately.

(Column from OtakuJournalist diagnosing Tanaka with Hashimoto's Disease/Hasihmoto's Thyroiditis.)

Maybe. To me he seems a lot like the kid from Hyouka. They both even mention the same philosophy of “do what needs to be done as efficiently as possible and do nothing that doesn’t.

Also, Japan is a very conservative and nationalistic country. Japan literally has multiple laws against gay marriage. Do people really think they are gonna put trans rights stuff in their anime?
Hoshiai no sora aired not too long ago and it explicitly had an FTM character and one of the boys read an LGBT booklet and wondered if he was "X-gender", which is the japanese equivalent to Nonbinary.

And yet the show bombed and production was cut short. Seems to have also been forgotten in the West, least I forget of its existence and I don't see (normal) people ever talk about it.

I thought that "I'm an autistic child" was some fake screen cap ngl. Like it FEELS like something that would be fake, but thank you for confirming that it was a real ass line. Then again I'm watching the dub, which again isn't bad. Not used to the new girl who's name is Fa? I was like "did it cut out? Oh no- that's her name alrighty then". But right now I'm on episode 7 so i'll see where it goes.
I find that Gundam does have a problem of annoying childhood friend/tag along girl, but overall I'd say Fa isn't that bad especially later on into the series and past it. I somewhat admire her devotion to Kamille in sticking with him through thick and thin, plus she's a lot more helpful later on as (not that much of a spoiler) she actually goes out to help fight in the battlefield as a pilot.

But yea the opening I got feels like PRIME 80'S and I'm kinda getting used to it? It's not bad but comparing it to the space opera ish one, I mean they're both equal, the vocal track is if you want some kinda 80's music video, the space opera one sets a good tone, it's just a little miffed when Haro pops out.

The music for gundam shows are typically pretty great, the ones from the 80s all have that nice 80s sound and the later done series all have pretty great music.
Will say I'm very thankful the ones i'm watching with the COMING UP~ is AFTER the credits. When I saw 0079 it spoiled some deaths and I was like "WAIT-WHAT?" but I don't have to worry bout it with Zeta. Speaking of ED's, yea I wasn't a fan of 0079's ED. It's okay but I wouldn't put it on my spotify anytime soon.
The only gundam music I really listen to with any frequency, besides when I get in the mood for nostalgia trips, is the Gundam Unicorn ost. I really like the main theme Unicorn and how it's core music sound gets used in other tracks just played in a different way to change the tone so it all feels connected (I know there's an actually musical term for this). Would definitely recommend giving it a listen sometime.

Also, since you finished 0079 I can't help recommending checking out Gundam Seed as it takes a lot of story ideas from 0079 and if you could get through 0079s animation you'll be fine with the godawful early 2000s animation. The dub (original one) is also a blast and makes the series 10x better with Mark Oliver as Rau Le Creuset, surfer Kira and the knowledge that the VAs for Athrun and Kira grew up together in real life. Just make sure if you do watch it's the non-HD remastered version with the original dub since the new dub sucks and they changed some stuff up in the HD remastered that I found kind of dumb.

Don't watch Destiny. If anything play some of the SRW (specifically Super Robot Wars Z which the VA for Shinn believes handles the character a lot better) or Gundam Musou games since I heard the take a better approach to Shinn's character rather than the anime where he gets thrown to the side as soon as Jesus Yamato shows up. They really messed up Shinn and I almost feel bad for him, only good thing to come out of Destiny was the adorable behind the scenes love story between Kenichi Suzumura (Shinn) and Maaya Sakamoto (Lunamaria Hawke).
Alright lads I'm gonna watch Hunter X Hunter in full from episode 1 so I can finally understand the fascination with Togashi. Anything I should know before going in?
If it's the 2011 anime for the love of god skip the opening after a couple times, it's not a bad opening but it doesn't change in the entire run and I still have "YOU CAN SMILE AGAIN!" seared into my mind back when I tried marathoning it years ago. If I was rewatching it I'd just skip it entirely to save myself.
And yet the show bombed and production was cut short. Seems to have also been forgotten in the West, least I forget of its existence and I don't see (normal) people ever talk about it.
I think the blame for it bombing was more due to their initial plagiarism controversy over the ending dance sequence being traced without credit. It killed a lot of interest for people and I bet didn't help its popularity among the Japanese.

I tapped out myself when they started one uping the sad backstories each episode for all the characters, sad since I was actually interested in seeing how they'd try to resolve MC's abuse and the implications that his close friend had probably fucked up someone early in his life given his reaction to finding out about the dad and his own mothers seeming fear around him. Alas, they moved away from that to bring in everyone elses sobstories.

I know. That anime was not good. It was kinda trash, at least in my opinion. I did not care for it.

I was explicitly talking about the trans flag and rights stuff that people think was specifically put in that egg anime as an agenda.

Which I highly doubt Japanese people care about that political movement given their laws and how their country is socially and politically.

Also, all this stuff is nothing new in anime. They talk about and do crazy and weird shit all the time and have done so forever. It is what lets them sometimes make great manga's and anime.

I just think some people read too heavily into trash seasonal anime try and to apply it to Western culture and politics. Especially Troons. They do that with everything and apply it to themselves.

Meh, I have noticed an increase in anime made just to make the SJW's happy. It's why the infamous rape anime of the season is so badly rated. Japanese people don't like brown skinned people that doesn't function as a laughingstock either. The animation looks more of a cartoon than an anime too. So it's not a anime that's made to appeal to the japanese.

Stardust Memory has incredible animation and the repercussions of it have huge lasting effects on the UC, but it does have one the worst protagonists in gundam.

The rebellion Manga does a much better job making Kou a better pilot and person while simultaneously ramping the shit out of the Zeon MS and franchise crossovers.

I don't know anything about destiny, but I do know the only interaction I had with it was THIS song and I really like it a lot. I don't know how I found it as a kid, but it sounds really nice. The art style reminds me of Code Geass, so I'm kind of wandering if the producers of that got to make Gundam Seed Destiny tbh.
It's the long lanky boys and eye's that's making the connection for me. Speaking of which, IIII need to finish Code Geass one day. I'm still very pissed years later I got the ending spoiled for me and the whole Euphie thing spoiled when I was in middle school and it's made it hard for me to go back to watch it even if I like Code Geass as a whole.
I'll go check what the heck the place I use has since there was 5 pages of gundam stuff to go through.

Speaking of which, have you played any of the games? I got just about every game station under the sun except the newer shit due to my parents and I can emulate a PS2, Wii, and gamecube well enough on my computer, No surprise i'm interested in the Journey to Jaburo one, but if there's any other ones you recommend I'm sure I can find it on eBay or some shit. My brother owns Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3, but no clue whats in there.

Did find a place to read some of the weirder manga like Gundam-San and Char's ordinary life so that'll be fun. I have to find a new place for the ladder since I Can't zoom in on some of the shit and it hurts my eyes. Dammit online only manga FFS. I'm bout to start relearning japanese again just to READ stuff.

I only got so far into Destiny before giving up due to the disappointment of them largely giving up on Shinn and switching back to Kira/Athrun. He started from an interesting position as someone orphaned as a direct cause of something that happens in Seed who directly lays blame on Kira's side (from what I remember) because of believing they were the cause of the fighting to erupt. I really wanted to see him develop from an angry traumatised (literally saw the blown up corpses of his mum/dad/little sister and carries around said sisters phone) 16 year old over the course of the series through mentorship from Athrun, instead he gets tossed aside to villains so Kira can shine.

The artsyle when it comes to the character designs is specifically Hisashi Hirai's unique look, though a lot of people don't like his designs I do. Does suffer a bit from sameface (or Hirai face) though I think his newer stuff like Majestic Prince or Fafner's later season really show an improvement.

I've once again reminded myself that I need to watch the later seasons of Fafner for my boys Kazuki and Soushi. *sigh*

I think even with the ending being spoiled it's worth watching to see how it got to that point.

I've bought a few, but haven't played a bunch since I've not played an actual game in a while. The ones I do have are: DW Gundam (2, 3, Reborn) - I played the crap out of 3 since it was a fun button masher and I liked the character interactions, never got around to playing 2 or that much of Reborn. Heard 2 is really good story wise.
Gundam Breaker (1, 2, 3) - Very fun make your own OC gunpla game with the 3rd being the best of the lot, 2 is fine but 1 is literally unplayable now I think because you needed online to actually complete the last several missions as the team ai was shit and it was really restrictive on what parts you could actually use to make a half decent suit. If you can find the Break edition of the 3rd it comes with all the DLC and I think there's a SEA release of it that comes in English (the one I have).
Gundam Extreme VS - Suck at it, but fun to dick around as a party game with friends. Contains an opening by Linkin Park. I'm somewhat interested in picking up some of the later games, but I suck at fighting games and would have no fun online.
Gundam 0081 - I sucked super hard and couldn't get past the janky ass controls, made me realize I'm not that good at video games. :(
Gundam Battle Operations (1 and 2) - 1st is long dead, but the second is still around if you want a f2p team based shooter that swings between amazing matches and blood boiling rage. All the suits are early UC with them just hitting ZZ (I think).
SRW V - It has Gundam in it so it technically counts, haven't got around to actually playing it yet. Comes in English even if the translations are somewhat wonky.

Everything but SRW V, Gundam Breaker 3, and Gundam Battle Operations 2 are ps3 with those 3 being ps4.

I don't think SRWV is worth playing for the Gundam content alone unless you're really into Crossbone/Unicorn. The UC cast gets to play cheerleader for Bananagher the greatest guy ever™ with a couple of obligatory scenes for everyone to unlock their strongest attacks/upgrades and the SEED cast gets to do the same but for the Cross Ange plot. 00 gets a special mention for being irrelevant beyond irrelevance in the game and the 00 movie plot (which is the only focus they have in V) gets solved in two brief chapters.

Dr. Stone's recent manga ended on a rather interesting note

Senku potentially has got someone to help bait the main antagonist to try and petrify the earth again to defeat the Americans

Jojo part 6 anime confirmed:

The last hurdle standing in the way of Steel Ball Run anime is finally about to be cleared. And who knows, maybe I'll end up enjoying part 6 more this time around than when I first read it, much like the part 5 anime.
Can't wait to see the debut of Ronny Rodent and The Incredible Man-Spider when Bohemian Rhapsody is animated.

I'm not surprised but I am disappointed.

On a different note, I finally got around to watching the first episode of SSSS Dynazenon and I have to say, it's pretty good. If you enjoyed Gridman, you'll definitely enjoy Dynazenon.

I started reading a series called “The Forest Piano: Perfect World of Kai” and it’s pretty good. If I hadn’t seen that it came out 10 years earlier, I’d think it was inspired by Your Lie In April, though maybe YLIA was inspired by it.

Also, people who write reviews on MAL need to crawl out of their own asses. When I want to get a vague idea of something’s quality, I don’t want to read a 10 paragraph diatribe about how the moeblob ruined music anime, or your dissertation about why the 90’s had good series about bands and it never happened after that (esp considering that Fuuka was great and ran from 2014-2018 ) or a long anecdote about how Sentai series made you jizz in your Power Rangers undies. I don’t want massive preamble and setup. I also don’t want component scores. Just give me a few good paragraphs of “this is what they’re going for, it does this and this interesting, and you may find X frustrating.”

MAL needs to fix how they approach reviews in general. Good luck even trying to get noticed on there if you're not directly on top of newer shows because they took away the dislike button after One Punch Man brought out the trolls and fans being butthurt at negative criticism which fucked up the weighted scores, so now you just see older reviews from long-gone users on the majority of titles. Most anime fans who're watching seasonal anime are relatively new to otakudom, and their entitlement is so through the fucking roof that checking out the newest anime's pages is like walking into a radioactive core on meltdown.

Absolutely frustrating.
