Honestly the best parts of SxF are the pure SoL moments or the pure SHTH moments. I'm glad they bother to tackle the brutalist elements of a war story and basically call out both sides as fucking about, not that the modern bellcurve audience will pick up the subtext from that and connect it to real world wars. Which in and of itself is a lesson about 1-dimensional propagandizing for 80 years.

How much of Spy is focused on the actual espionage/spy stuff? I'm curious. watched the first episode. Love Loid hes handsome af and Yor is beautiful af. Anya is okay. I'm not like a diehard fan of her. I'm just worried it'll veer too much into her antics (remember how K-On promised like an actual plot about a high school band and 75% was random pointless stuff?)

I don't know why they had to come up with "new" outfit designs, just keep the clothes the same. I fucking hate modernization.

It's about half-and-half. While Anya's school antics are the main 'event' in Loid's infiltration attempts, every so often there's a bigger arc where the espionage/spy stuff takes focus and if Anya gets involved, it makes sense. Yor generally has less of a role early on but that's been improving more recently.
 
I've been watching Hellsing Ultimate with a friend for spooky month and does anybody else know of another dub where everyone is given the proper accent they're supposed to have? Not every VA does the accent all that great but it's funny so I don't really care, I wish it were more common. Sasuke doing a bad French accent is hilarious, why would I watch the sub over that?

the one with the game designer/letsplayer hasnt totally turned to shit yet and the one with the girl that makes potions is pretty chill till now. 3 episodes without turning into power fantasy BS must be some world record for an isekai.

The second episode is just barely a hair better. There was about thirty seconds of good animation and twenty minutes of still frames and extremely minimal animation. The pacing is ass, two episodes passed and basically nothing has happened, and even Saitama's VA sounds like he's not even trying, he just mumbles everything. I get Saitama is pretty monotone, but it feels way too far here.
 
I feel like Centuria is going to just start being shit. The current arc antagonists are sticking around way too long and it’s feeling like the author is falling for the trap Berserk fell into.

Season 1 is still probably the best one. I genuinely think that episodes 1-9 are some of the most (please forgive my wording) "bingeable" in the genre. 1-5 especially, things just flow so smoothly and the pacing is amazing. You're always learning something new or being introduced to new characters or enjoying some event. It all gels together really well and is so enjoyable to watch. SxF thrives on its premise, but it also kindov lives and dies on it as well. It has to walk a fine line between SoL normalcy to keep people emotionally invested, and over the top unique ideas/characters/events to keep people from getting bored and burnt out. The first season has the best balance of this imo, likely due to everything being new and the Forger family settling into itself.

Hetalia would also count since every country has their sterotypical accent in the english dub
 
I just finished reading a one volume 80s manga about a high school guy who has a girlfriend. Except somehow she was turned into a 15cm person and he had to take care of her like a doll while being lovers and wanting to fuck her.

This premise may seem weird right, bust most chapters are about they having to circumvent the fact that she is a fucking micro person. Detail: her parents and everyone else thinks she died, so only he know that she is alive and he takes care of her.

In the last chapter, they go to an onsen and have a great time there, but as they walk on the streets, he gets almost runover and fell from a very tall height. She was in his pocket. He is all fucked up but starts looking for her. She is absolutely crushed, she can only ask him to go back to their home and when he gets there she is already dead. The fall killed her. No one knows that she was even alive, so he was the only one who knows that she died. As the time goes on and he is still depressed. He sees a kid burrying a pet bird and when he asks his mom why did the bird died, she answers: it was too small. He starts crying as the boy notices it.

THE FUCKING END.

IT WAS WEIRD RIGHT. Now if I read a bit more, this manga was published on the Garo Magazine. The author (female) manga updates page: "Her father left the family when she and her younger sister were in primary school. Her mother was a dance teacher and bar hostess, who soon began living with another dance instructor, and later remarried. Shungiku was often forced to sleep with her stepfather, and her mother would allow it."

Now the most shocking factor: this story was adapted to live action.... FIVE FUCKING TIMES, THE LAST ONE BEING A GENDER REVERSE LAST YEAR!

AND AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, THE FIRST THING THEY EVER SAY WHEN THEY ADAPT THE STORY: THE ORIGINAL END WILL BE CHANGED.

What a fucking weird ride lol
